The Advanced Start-Up Menu.
It's nothing harmful; it just gives you an extended menu of options when booting up (such as Safe Mode, "last known good configuration," etc). You can usually "activate" it by pressing a certain function key when your computer first boots up.
Sometimes, though, it "activates" itself after a crash. Was your computer rebooting from a crash when you noticed this?
At any rate, there's nothing harmful about the advanced startup menu in and of itself.
That's great news for me and anyone else who also just happens to be, like me, somewhat computer illiterate! Thanks!

I'm not sure how it happened, but, yesterday, somehow, though I don't know how I did it, I activated something on my computer called an "Advanced Start-Up Menu". I'm wondering if such a menu will harm my computer in any way, and if it will, how do I get rid of it? Thanks in advance, everyone!
