No, really. Some sets will have a harder time than others. But thanks to IOs, they can ALL be made to get the job done.
Sets that I would personally avoid for AV killing? Primaries that are more geared toward AOE damage like spines and secondaries that are "trick" based such as fiery aura and dark armor.
I am NOT stating that AV soloing is impossible with those sets.
I've soloed AVs with my claws/sr. SR seems to be a very good set for the job. Fiery Melee and Dark Melee dish out insanely beautiful single target damage and will be able to get your there more quickly than claws will. Willpower, I would guess, is also just fine for soloing AVs.

It's an excellent choice, but likely requires a higher budget to do the job due to the greater difficulty in soft-capping the build.

Ive rolled a few scrappers but Im trying to decide which direction to go in. I want a scrapper (or do I...will a brute accomplish the same thing?) to solo AV's eventually. What powersets should I look into and why?
