Long hair doesn't do well in combat situations. Getting slapped in the eye with your own ponytail hurts, man. Both are a bit muscular and flat from their active lifestyles too.

Grand Papier hosted an internation 24 hour comic day last weekend and I joined the other students at the Center for Cartoon Studies in the madness. Managed to do 14 pages of a comic about my two sister superheroes Deadspring/Knivesbane and Dayspring (aka Priscilla and Beatriz Winters).
So two off duty superheroes go to a movie theatre...
