Looking to write some fiction, need some help

Hey all,

I'm looking to do a kind of sports story for both Paragon City and eventually the Rogue (Etoile) Isles.

I'm digging through history and game lore for some semblance of accuracy, but I was wondering if anyone already knew, or knows, where to point me to find out what sports (other than Arena combat) already exist within both locations?

Other things I don't want to screw up too much would be along the lines of who would regulate such a thing in either location. I imagine in Paragon City it would either be a City or Rhode Island State decision (by means of some committee or sports commission). With the Rogue Isles I'm not sure if it would be beneath his interest or something like that would have to be approved by Lord Recluse.

Data or where I can find canon data would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all!

Not sure about canon data, but I'd imagine they'd have much the same sports as in our world. In addition, you might find something in the Paragon City backstory you can use.

Sweet, thanks!

What I'm looking to do with this is create a new sport all together that deals with superpowered beings of all origins.

Thanks for the assist

One idea that you might toss about is the idea of either Arena sports teams, or use of the new AE Corp AM system for virtual sports competitions using sports impossible in the normal world (Cube Soccer, Wonderland Marathons, and Wormhole Flyfishing are all possible sports in an AM system simulation).

As far normal sports, I agree the previous posters. All the normal sports exist in the world of CoX that do here, with the additional rules excluding supers or making special leagues for them. After all, being selected to receive the opening pitch from Statesman at the beginning of Baseball season would probably be considered a punishment rather than an honor, given the hospital bills afterwards

Hammerstar, THAT is a really good suggestion. It hadn't even occurred to me to think of AE in those terms.

Thanks,
