is it possible to get purple recipes from doing Dev choice AE's or even from rolling with tickets?.. (i think the random ticket rolls specifies rare and uncommon only but thought I would ask anyway)

No from tickets and no on the A.E. missions. You should be able to get them off of 47+ mobs in dev choice, and i think hall of fame.
