Game Resolution Question

Every time that i try to change the game resolution let's say from 800 to 1024 when i press apply changes it resets back to 800 and a message pops that say "you will need to restart the game for the new resolution to take effect", but since it reseted back to 800 as soon as i hit apply changes the new resolution never takes effect, i have a 512mb Nvidia 8800GT, have tried every resolution type but they all reset back to the sad 800x600 Res. thx in advance for your help

Don't close the options window after you hit apply. Log out to desktop with the window still open.

or use a program called TweakCoH to change the settings while "offline".
