Interactions between stances and costume pieces

So, I figured this would be a pretty hefty undertaking involving at least Sexy Jay, Backalley Brawler and their minions, but I'm posting it to flesh it out and see what people think.

With the introduction of combat auras, we have costume parts with different appearances depending on a character's stance - when you stand your targeting optics go away, but when you enter combat stance they appear. What if this could be done in reverse - with weapons?

Summary

The primary issue of this is to fix the issue often called "hammerspace" where you draw your weapon from midair. The secondary issue is greater costume customization including additional non-functional weapons for characters to use on their costumes. The tertiary issue would be the introduction of new weapon draw animations.

Primary Issue: Hammerspace

Pretty much every weapon heroes and villains use is drawn from midair, in what is jokingly referred to as "hammerspace". Where are the weapons coming from, and where are they stowed when not drawn? Most weapons are drawn with a hand (or two) over the shoulder, which gives the impression that the weapon(s) should be on the character's back.

So, I'm proposing several new costume pieces that take up a back slot, in place of wings or a cape. (These could also be implemented as chest details like the bandoliers, but would probably have issues with clipping.)

Single Scabbard, with and without sword
Dual Scabbards , with and without swords
Quiver and Bow
Quiver
Mace in Holster
Empty Mace Holster
Rifle Sling

If a character uses a weapon, the costume piece could be set up to switch from showing the weapon to lacking the weapon when the weapon is drawn, much like the targeting optics turn on when you enter combat stance. If your character doesn't use a weapon, that leads to...

Secondary Issue: Costume Customization

Some people might like to carry a weapon even if it isn't part of their powerset. Maybe a character is a martial artist but carries a sword on his back. Maybe a character controls gravity but also wants a quiver on their back.

With the new costume pieces, they can! Because they never actually draw the weapon in the holster, it never vanishes. Because these are static costume pieces, they open up other opportunities. Maybe instead of on the back, a character carries a weapon strapped to their leg. This also works great for backup weapons - dual scabbards on the back for a dual blade user, and an extra one strapped to their leg in case of breakage! Now, if you can have a weapon or two strapped to your leg, why not consider...

Tertiary Issue: New Weapon Draw Animations

If I'm remembering correctly, katana draws from the hip, dual blades draw over the shoulders, and everything else draws over the right shoulder. Well, if you can have your weapons holstered on your back, on your hip, or strapped to your thigh, why not draw them from that location? Any melee weapon could be drawn from the same shoulder (like broadsword), the opposite hip (like katana) or from the same leg (which would be a new animation). Guns could be drawn over the shoulder or from a holster on the same leg (but probably not from the opposite hip).

I know doing all of this would take a lot of time and effort, but it would be an amazing degree of customization without changing any combat animations or visuals (so as to avoid the "power customization" argument).

...I forgot what experience means.

It's like you read my mind! I've been wanting backpacks and quivers for a long time. Holsters and sheaths as well. I don't like how the weapons and shields dissapear. I'd love to see them sheathed, holstered, or slung on the toons body when not in use.

With the sheaths, I don't see why it would be a problem for the players to have them since the Jonin ninjas have double sheaths on the back.

While reading your thread I had another idea: Instead of being drawn from the back when in use, the assault rifle could be slung to the front at the low ready position when not in use. And when it's been inactive for a significant amount of time, it could be slung to the back.

Pistols seem to be drawn from the hip area, so I think that belt holsters with leg straps should be available. It would be really cool to see them filled with the pistols when not in the toons hands.

I'd also like to see shields strapped to the back when the character's shield defense powers weren't activated or if the toon is inactive for a time.
