It's a simple suggestion. We have a list, that list is based on prestige, how about we number them based on what the list is based on.
As for the argument of "who cares, just because a SG is on the list doesn't make it good."
Here's my counter argument:
I care, and a lot of other people do to. Maybe people care for different reasons. I can't speak for other people and the reasons why they care. As for me personally, I enjoy the competition and don't follow the mantra of letting the kids who play little league not keep score because it shouldn't be about numbers or hurting people's feelings. Is it an ego thing for people as stated in the previous thread? Maybe. No different from the same ego that appears when you brag to your friends about how you dominated them in a basketball game. But to argue whether competition is good or bad or whatever and to dive into the psychological reasoning of why me or anyone should or should not care would be pretty lame; save it for a philosophy course.
To the argument maybe not every SG on the list is active or "good" but the very fact of getting on that list proves that the SG was either very organized or very active or both. You can't earn that kinda prestige without one or the other. So I think it's good to have a record of showing which SGs are the larger or more organized bunch. Are there smaller organized fun SGs around that aren't on the list? Certainly. Are the Top 100 SGs GENERALLY more active or organized? Yes.
