well this is the rp I am Iuturna in roman mythology she is Goddess of foutains, springs, and wells. though she is tired of the goddess life being able to live forever and she wants to leave the life at olympia i am trying to figure the best way and the way that makes sense that she leaves olympia however keepingh her divine powers to help mankind and I am rping with someone and I am stuck at this point so far and I want it to make sense . can she just step down or how can I do this

Well can have her powers are being weakened by things people are doing that she has do something about it.(whether be popultion, lack of followers as some tales deal with that, or some other stuff) Like she cant directly interfer due to rules of the gods, but casting aside enough power she can influence things at a level mortal are able to since rise of supers.

It may also be that when she left Olympus, her followers' faith might have been a bit shaken, weakening her powers (if you accept a direct correlation between number of followers, their faith, and the god's power).

You can also spin it that the closer to 'mortality' she gets, the weaker her power is. And it's not until she begins to harness the true potential of humanity that she makes up what she's lost.

Or it could be that Jupiter/Zeus (the real one, not the current avatar we know as Statesman), for her audacity, siphoned most of her power away (he was known for doing stuff like that).

Realizing that an adventure may be precisely what she needs, however, he doesn't take all of it away, giving her the abilities that most heroes/rogues have access to within her realms of influence. As she travels and learns more, he makes more available to her (begrudgingly, of course, but professionally; Hera/Juno would have repeatedly elicited the dreaded "Stygian Oath" from him to honor some kind of "power lease" agreement).
