If you're thinking about entering the Create a character costume contest but you can't decide on which character costume/bio to enter? Post your top choices here to get advice on which one is the best.

I know the fine folks here at the Screenshots and Fan Art forum have great taste and good opinions. So I thought I'd post something to try and help.

What the heck? Might as well.. and thanks for the thread. I'm undecided on whether I want to use one of my existing characters, or create a new one.

Existing ones I'm pondering... at least ones that already have biographies:

Butterfly Effect
Bio: A butterfly mutated by a combination of magic and science; Butterfly Effect has champions who seek to find a way to return her to her normal state.

In the meantime, she assists them in their fight against their enemies and feels her way around this strange, shrunken world.


Krasivyy Mechtayu/Zvezda
Bio: Nadya Inessava Zanin is, unfortunately, lying in a hospital bed in St. Petersburg and has been undergoing various treatments for most of her 14 years. In her dreams, however, she travels. most often, her dreams are of being a hero in the famous Paragon City. Nadya is just starting to realize that her dreams are more than dreams. She is, in fact, projecting her soul self to the city of her dreams and is, indeed, helping others. Being a result of thought forms, Paragon City's Krasivyy Mechtayu can imagine herself in any form, with a variety of powers.


Ms. Hypatia
Bio: Hypatia, daughter of Theon and last librarian of Alexandria; upon hearing of the order to destroy all pagan temples in Alexandria, utilizing knowledge aquired from the Library, managed to transport the Mouseion's scrolls to an alternate plane. She always had the intention of bringing them back once a new, safe location was found. Unfortunately, she was murdered before such a place was available.

Her daughter, Iokaste, knew the scrolls were safely in another dimension, but not how to retrieve them. She called on Cleio, muse of history; and Hecate, goddess of witchcraft and crossroads, for aid. Their aid arrived in the form of a Lampade, a nymph serving Hecate. The Lampade was made mortal with the knowledge that each generation would be bound in service and friendship with the eldest of Iokaste's line. It's powers over darkness remained, however; and with each generation bound at birth the darkness of Hekate was shared between the infants.


Nomadstar
Bio: Originally from Datragon, a somewhat earthlike world, Zwggstrl and Rzjnstr are fairly typical of their species. Datragonians exhibit a high degree of sexual dimorphism in size and strength. During a darker past females were politically and socially dominant, however, equality was achieved several centuries ago.

When the Imperial Combine took control of their world; Zwggstrl and Rzjnstr fought initially but Rzjnstr was captured. Zwggstrl, with help from the dwindling resistance, was able to rescue Rzjnstr, but not before his wings and feet had been amputated to prevent his escape.

Zwggstrl took her maimed mate to an almost legendary planet, Earth. Here, surgeons were able to replace Rzjnstr's legs.

Now in Paragon City, Zwggstrl and Rzjnstr, have adopted new names, and help keep this, their new home out of the hands of the Combine.


Sonic Shocker
Bio: Sarah is a student at Paragon U and the Mouseion at Alexandria. Her field of study is electronic engineering, but she also has a keen interest in sound manipulation and is a clever inventor.

She has created two armor suits which utilize copper, gold, and silver to transmit electricity and sound in various frequencies.

Her first suit utilizes a transvoder which emits sounds at frequencies that will shield her allies in battle. The gauntlets emit powerful jolts of electricity which render villains and assailants incapable of further action. Rocket boots were designed to fit with the armor to allow for rapid transportation via flight.


Siberian Spring
Bio: Tatyana Stepanova, born in Solnechogorsk, Russia, USSR in June 1957. At 19 she was "recruited" to a top secrect project for the soviet government. In 1983, there was an accident in the facility and she was transported to an alien dimension.

She survived there for nearly two years before being discovered by an exploratory group from Paragon City. It was quickly determined that the transport had included temporal, in addition to dimensional, displacement; 25 years have passed since she was last on this earh.

Now, with her country fallen, her knowledge out of date, and her family deceased; she helps those who rescued her and tries to regain her place in a new world.

Im considering entering Hubba Bubbles

Bio : "Hubba Bubbles was once a normal disco queen, she spent her nights at the grooviest clubs in town; until one night. . . . . . .

One club offered a magical bubbly experience; there was an unfortunate accident though. One of the bubble maker machines malfunctioned, there was an explosion and Hubba Bubbles was caught in it. After she recovered she found she was able to project bubbles at will.

With the help of Hero Corps she learned how to make her bubbles stronger, strong enough to shield others. She soon hit the streets to help other heroes defend the city.

Unfortunately due to the common problems Portal Corporation cause in their many exploration projects, she was pulled into our time stream, and has been stranded here ever since."


Because shes fun, and funny (to me atleast). But I'm worried the name might be too similar to a certain trade marked product for the judges comfort levels, and I prefer having my name stay how it is.

I can't decide on whether I should use a character I already have or make a new one. I have some I really like, but some's bios (like Twilight's Daughter-of Ouroboros) are very in game specific and I worry that will disqualify me. Advice on my toons and help Sorry the pics aren't super great, but I wanted to get something up quick. You can zoom once to get a better look. All the feedback I can get will really help, I am so indecisive!

Thanks! She was my inclination, but I too can't decide on which look...decisions, decisions.

I can see there's going to be some good competition out there. Here are a few of my short opinions (I can PM details if you'd like) - I hope you will follow up with a few of your own!

Baisliac - I enjoyed a number of your creations. My favorite pick out of the bunch, however, would probably have to be Ms. Hypatia. I'm also a fan of Siberian Spring.

CharlieGirl - I'd have to agree with Bubbawheat on his choice of character. Between the two costumes, I found myself drawn more towards the second one.

Naginata - Katana/Super Reflexes Scrapper (Natural)

Reizei was born into the Hakugin clan, a village hidden in the snowy mountains of Japan. The son of a master smith, he and his older brother Ishuda were exposed to a harsh lifestyle of constant training and supervision from an early age. As they grew, Rezei become skilled by sword and anvil; yet despite this, Ishuda always seemed to surprass him.

Eventually, they both fell in love with a young woman named Hirata. Although Ishuda pursued her, he was ultimately rejected and she chose Reizei, who abandoned his sword and devoted himself to building a life with his love. With plans for a wedding in motion, he was named the successor to the clan by his father and the couple was presented with a beautiful white wedding spear.

Outraged by his father's decision, Ishuda murdered his father and Hirata and fled the village. Left with nothing but his grief and a desire for vengeance, Reizei took on the Naginata's namesake and reforged the weapon into a brilliant white sword and pursued Ishuda into the snow.

The intimidating figure, clad in obsidian armor, emerged from the shadows and approached the magical altar in front of him. Set upon it was a mythical amulet, said to be engraved with the power to control dark spirits.

Another voice spoke from the shadows. "My master, we must move quickly. I sense that the usurper moves closer with every moment we delay." "Very well then," Ishuda replied, "we will take the trinket and go. You will stay here and provide a diversion." The figure nodded obediently and faded back into the shadows.

Ishuda took the amulet and carefully tucked it away. "Long have you dogged my steps, brother, hiding behind your false mask of honor. Paragon may know you as the Hero 'Naginata,' but soon, all will know of your treachery. You will bow before me!"

Outside, a new dawn had risen on Ishuda's bloodstained past. He would have his revenge.

Well... I went with Ms. Hypatia, but used her 4th costume, instead of the first one.
