It's flattering but definitely weird. I don't get tattoos. They aren't edgy unless you go for extremes (do the face!) and it's like a piece of clothing you can never take off.

I don't think I'd want anyone tatooing themselves with one of my characters, especially something that I had commissioned. I say you point out that you aren't the artist and send them to the actual artist's DA page. Maybe they can get a commission for of something they like to get a tatoo of.

Well girl got a tattoo of my chibi PyroMindi, and told me about it after the ink was done. She had the tattoo artist change the color and tweak it as well. At least the guy is asking before he does it.
He could have gotten it done without asking, and then what could you do? Ask him to get it removed or covered up?

Technically? They're not making money off it, the tattoo artist is. So you'd actually have to take up your fight with the tattoo artist who didn't ask "Hey didja get permission to do use this piece?"
To top it off, REIQ could say, "Hey, I don't like that..."
Legally? It's a mess. Copyright law within the US doesn't apply to most other countries... tracking down the tattoo artist... Ehhh...
If he feels that strongly about your piece, he could have it done without your permission, while you created TA, NCsoft technically owns the character design of him.... So yersh, legal vomit everywhere...
Tattoos are nice, but I'm more into etching/scarring..
Further, someone wanting to get a tattoo of something that A) I'd designed for my own personal amusement and B) Commissioned someone to do an art piece for would be very, very weird. And I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with it.
I go with the recommendation someone else said: I'd tell the artist that while I'm personally flattered, I'd Really Rather You Didn't do that piece in particular. But the guy can't miss with your work.
And with that artist? Dood. Anything would be rawk.
However, it's up to you, TA. I'm just a silly fox.

I get a lot of requests from people wanting a Turkey Lurkey tattoo. I always say yes, BUT they can only get the tattoo if it is based on one particular representation of TL.
