Costume Feedback Request #9676B

Someone suggested this thread be better here, so here's a re-post:

----------

I've got some plans for characters when Issue 12 comes out, what with all the proliferated Powersets and what-not. One such character will be an Archery/Mental Manipulation Blaster. I won't bore you with all the details of the backstory, but the gist of it is this: She comes from a simpler place and therefore uses a bow and arrow in addition to her inherent psionic powers, but Paragon City's robust technologies are also providing her with more toys and armor to play with.

Picture 1: Standing
Picture 2: Bow Drawn

The costume isn't set in stone, but I've spent a lot of time with it and like it the way it is. The fact that each arm has its own color makes me giddy. However, if you're more of a costume genius than I, please do suggest improvements!

In any case, all I'm really looking for is you guys' first impressions of the costume. Thumbs up or thumbs down?

When you said 'a simpler place', I assumed you meant lower tech. Her outfit looks very cybered. Is the techno look intentional?

The outfit is supposed to look technological, yes. Natively, she doesn't use funky stuff. She even does her laundry by hand! But when she responded to villain activity in Paragon City, she saw what options were available and went to town, using old technique via new means.

For an archer you never want to use gloves with anything protruding (like the bands around her wrists). Seriously. The bowstring catches and you end up with arrows that can do anything from "pop right off the string" to "go randomly twirling in whatever direction it wants like a deadly frisbee skewer of deadliness."

I'd recommend getting something smooth. And not bulky.
Also, the chestplate could get in the way of a clean shot as well for pretty much the same reason.

Part of designing a costume is looking at available options and seeing what can be done. Were I to design everything from scratch, she'd look a bit different. But Robotic Arm 3 is the only way to get the arms colored differently, so that's the glove I'm stuck with.

The drawing arm (her right) can have stuff on it. Whatever is around her wrist won't snag on the bowstring unles it's, like, y'know, all flowy and stuff. It's the stationary arm (her left) that should be smooth.

You could do that and still keep the arms differently colored.
