Yea, basically the title says it all. I KNOW there are a couple, if not multiple guides to the Positron TF, it's just my Search Fu is about as good as my ability to fly (in real life >.&gt. And asking for help as if there isn't any is just stupid, so I'm just asking for a link to a guide.

Also, if there's any BASIC info a tanker should have on a Task Force, either it be in guide form (via link), or something you've witnessed first hand, it would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Looking at the guide to guides right now, there should be something in there.

Try www.cityofheroes.wikia.com for information about the Positron TF.

But first!

If you are truly new to Task Forces, you may want to skip this one for now and come back to it later. It's not the best introduction to Task Forces. If you really want to do it, do it with a balanced team of 4 people and no more. With 6 or 8, you get a lot of bosses and they will make the TF crawl by.

Task Forces all spawn to the max level. (There may be an exception or two with newer ones and Trials are different). If you go on a level 10-14 TF with a level 10 team, the spawns will average 14 and you will have a very difficult time. Balance in damage/damage mitigation and level. (If you have two people at 10, you should have two 14s to SK the level 10s.)

(My numbers are leaning toward an average - less than ideal team. Very storng teams can do these in less.) Synapse (2-4 hours, depending on the team) is better than Positron (4-8 hours, depending on the team) and next in the levels. The two Task Forces in Striga are both fun and not terribly long. (Moonfire is about 2 hours; Hess is about 2-3.) Katie Hannon in Croatoa (45 min - 1.75 hours) is also a lot of fun. Hess and Hannon are unlockable. You (or anyone on your TF team must) need to finish the last two contacts in Striga to unlock Hess and the last two contacts in Croatoa to unlock Katie Hannon. Once you unlock the contact, you can repeat the TF as many times as you want.

Thanks , that place will help with a LOT more then just Task Forces.

And reading the Positron guide for Newbs that was linked in the guide to guides, I think I realized that, yes, I should just skip that one >.>... sounds like more work then fun as a Newb

Positron is indeed quite long, but not QUITE as arduous as many people give it credit for. Not the sort of thing you tend to repeat more than necessary, but not the hellish marathon of dooooooom it is proclaimed to be. Biggest tip would be to have everyone on the team at lvl 14 or 15 to start (or with enough L15 mentors to sidekick anyone that isn't), on HEROIC (only the team leader's difficulty setting matters on a TF, but in case he/she disconnects and the star is handed off, it'd be nice if most of the team was on heroic too), with a small team. This keeps the huge spawns of CoT ghosts on the manageable side (which will floor your accuracy in a heartbeat), along with preventing the vast majority of boss encounters. Even with a sub-optimal team, it shouldn't take more than 3-4 hours if you know what you're doing. Also, Red Tomax's guide (www.coh.redtomax.com) is a tremendous torrent of info on.. basically every contact and power in the game.

Rule number six of an empathy defender is NEVER underestimate a blaster's ability to die. I don't care if he has CM, Fort, both RAs, bubbles (both FF and Sonic), and is fighting next to a Storm defender with hurricane on. If there is a way to die in that situation, the blaster will find it.
