As for the specific name brands... well, I usually just use what I can get my hands on and is on sale. I do try and get the good stuff, but I can't always afford it.
Recently I went out and bought a new set of Windsor-Newton Watercolors and some nice Arches Watercolor paper and I have been working with those.
For Graphite, I use the Mars Lithograph pencils for my finished works, but I use a mechanical pencil for sketching and doodles.
I use Prismacolor Colored Pencils and Nupastels.
My Acrylics are all Windsor-Newton Professional grade.
And for digital I use a 6x9 Intuos 3 WACOM tablet and my trusty mouse. I do all my Adobe Illustrator work with a mouse and all my PhotoShop digital painings with the tablet. I also have a copy of Painter 9.5 but I have not yet had the time to figure out how to use if effectively, and so I am currently sticking to PhotoShop until I have some time to spare to play around with it and read some tutorials.
And I love kneaded erasers! Long live the kneaded eraser!
I like to use a variety of mediums.
