Bind keyset?

I make a bunch of alts all the time. Is there any way to create a custom keybind group for movement and other mechanics keys? If I attempt to import keybinds.txt, it tells me I can only make remaps per file. Alternatively, is there any way to make a keyset for the dropdown menu?

I have generic or standard bind set for all my toons that includes an interactive menu to up load specific binds.

The standard keybind file I call “keybinds0.txt” is very extensive and specific to my play style.

I load the binds for the 1st time in game by typing “/bindloadfile C:\games\cohbinds\keybinds0.txt”; or if I am on a computer that that last toon used was one of mine that I save the keybinds to the game’s directory (using “/bind_save” command) I can upload the game’s last key bind set by typing “/bind_load” command.

Also, be careful of cut and paste keybinds, the “ symbol can get confused with ” symbol and the ‘ ‘ symbols: if you must cut and past, use a text based word program like notepad.

Here is an example of the bind menu-system used:

Then you have to populate those text files with the keybinds you want, getting file names and locations correct.

I'm not sure about the error you've been getting, but I've created a basid, default keybind file for all new alts. I load it up first thing for everyone. The keybind set and basic instructions can be found here: Universal Keyboard

In short, I created a file called "keys_def.txt" and place that into my CoH directory. When I'm ready, the following command loads up the file:

/bindloadfile "C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\keys_def.txt"

To create your own file, you use the /bindsave command which generates a base "keybinds.txt" file. You edit that with notepad (or any basic text editor) then rename it to some kind of default file.
