Rule number six of an empathy defender is NEVER underestimate a blaster's ability to die. I don't care if he has CM, Fort, both RAs, bubbles (both FF and Sonic), and is fighting next to a Storm defender with hurricane on. If there is a way to die in that situation, the blaster will find it.

This is my guide to the proper usage of the Assault Rifle primary for Blasters. The information and opinions herein should apply equally to Corrupters of the same primary.

Police Drone TH-Alright newbies, listen up: Today Im going to teach you the ins and out of the weapon of yours. I will teach you what it is to know true power, and in turn, you will teach the enemies of this fair city what it is to know fear. Do you get me Citizen!?

Recruits-Sir, yes sir!
Police Drone TH-Alright then.
[Picks up his rifle]
Police Drone TH-This is my weapon, I call her Vera. She is the most powerful firearm in the world.
[Recruits snicker]
Police Drone TH-Did I say something funny? You! In the do-rag with a cigar, you got a problem with that name?
Recruit 1-Sir, no sir! I just dont see how its stronger than throwing fire or ice!
Police Drone TH-Apparently is was good enough for your grand pappy, cause he used one to beat back Hitler! And he certainly didnt have a tool as powerful as this!
[slides action back and ejects a shell, snatching it out of mid air]
Police Drone TH-This round can drop an Arachnos scumbag from 2000 yards son, can your fire throwing little sister do that?

Police Drone TH-I thought not. Getting back to what I was saying. The Assault Rifle is the strongest tool at the Blasters disposal. It is the only Blaster primary protected by the constitution, and it gives you access to the most damage types and longest ranges on any Blaster primary. It is also one of two Blaster primaries with increased base accuracy, ranging from +5% to +35%.
Recruit 3-What about single target damage sir?

Police Drone TH-Are you going to be soloing!? Are you a loner with no friends!? Are you a sissy who only fights one enemy at a time!?
Recruit 3-Sir, no sir!
Police Drone TH-I thought not. Dont worry about single target damage son. If you need it, grab it from your secondary. I promise you it will do as much damage as you will ever need. Now, lets go over the 9 different powers that comprise Assault Rifle.

*16.89x4 Lethal Damage
*+5% Acc
*90ft Range
*-7% Def for 8 seconds
Police Drone TH-This is your most basic attack. You fire a quick four round burst, and reduce your enemies defense. This attack is very fast, and recharges quickly too. It has great range, and you will use it often. However, the def is possesses makes it very powerful.
Recruit 3-But its only -7%, should we really slot Defense Debuffs?
Police Drone TH-Did I say to slot them maggot!? No. But you will slot the Achilles Heel: -Res Proc into it, and enjoy a hefty -20% res.

Police Drone TH-This is your staple ranged single target attack.
[Glares at Recruit 3]
Police Drone TH-It has even better range than your Burst, making it a good follow up attack for your Sniper Rifle, later on. I advise you put a Force Feedback: +Rech Proc in it, and let the good times roll.

*56.94 Lethal Damage
*+5% Acc
*40ft Range
*50% KB
Police Drone TH-This is your first cone attack. Layering cones will be the key to victory for you later on in your career. I highly recommend the Positrons Blast IO set, or at the very least, the Positrons Blast: Chance for Energy Damage proc. There is nothing wrong with adding over 100 energy damage to an attack, just for the sake of it.
Recruit 3-Its got an awfully short range on it.
Police Drone TH-Boy, dont make me blap you

*+5% Acc
*80ft Range

Police Drone TH-This is your only true AoE, not that that should matter much. Its range is very good, I recommend using it as a third blast for your attack chain, much like Fire Blasters use/used Fireball as a third blast.

Police Drone TH-Happy? Anyway, I also recommend Positrons Blast for this.

*Mag 3 Stun
[At firing range, the recruits are blast away hapless cardboard targets. Recruit 3 seems to be struggling with his under-barrel 30 MM munitions launcher.]
Recruit 3-Sir, whats the point of a Beanbag in a gun fight. I mean, all you have to do it pull a trigger, sir.
[Walks over to opposite wall]
Police Drone TH-Cease fire.
[Stands in front of Recruit 3, 50 ft out]
Police Drone TH-Put your hand on that wall.
Recruit 3-Sir?
Police Drone TH-Do it!
[Puts hand against wall. Police Drone TH levels his weapon and fires a beanbag directly in Recruit 3s chest. Recruit 3 fly back, collapses and starts heaving for air.]
Police Drone TH-Your enemy cannot pull a trigger if you disable him. Slot in full Stupefy set and call it a day.

*172.67 Lethal Damage
*+25% Acc
*150ft Range
*50% KB
Police Drone TH-Boom Headshot. Nuff said.
[Recruits nod solemly]
Police Drone TH-Slot to taste, I have Sting of the Manticorex5, with the Toxic Proc changed out for a 50++ Dmg/Rng HO. Those of you brave enough to travel into battle with Devices will be rewarded with a little extra umph from this power.

*15.02x8 Fire Damage
*+30% Acc
*40ft Range
Police Drone TH-This is your second cone. It does massive damage. This and Buckshot used in tandem can lay waste to almost everything. Follow up with M30 if needed, or just repeat Buckshot and Flamethrower. Posi is a great choice for this set too.
Recruit 3-Only 40 ft
[Police Drone TH wreaths his fists in crimson energy and superman punches Recruit 3 into the infirmary]

*6.26 Fire Damage (per tick)
*30ft Range
Police Drone TH-Good for area denial, and punishing trapped foes. Those with Devices can immoblize foes, then torch them. This applies to people with the Fire, Ice, and Electric secondaries too.

Police Drone TH-This is your most powerful attack. You just shoot everything. Its really that simple. You dont even really aim, just point it in the direction thats offending you the most at that given time, and scream for 10 seconds straight.
