I just put a build together, and I'd like to know your thoughts on it. Yes, the mez resist and heals are late, but they can be swapped around as needed. Also, please ignore the levels I added slots; I kinds just threw this together in 15-20 minutes, just to get a feel.

Soul Storm with one Hold IO gives you enough time to setup another AS if no attackers...
For example. Find three mobs, AS, placate 2nd, hold 3rd (you have 17 secs), AS 2nd, wait for hide.... AS 3rd.
All with no damage incoming....
Test that against a 7.33 activating Moonbeam... you could get another AS in the time moonbeam takes to fire....

Shadow Punch is of less worth now.
Shadow Meld is insane. There is literally no reason to go any other Patron. Use it prior to every fight and you will almost never die.
Siphon Life is now one of the best attacks in the game. It has crazy high mitigation values with an incredible amount of damage (think Disembowel level of damage). Not taking it is like skipping Placate and Assassin's Strike.
Midnight Grasp is now a great attack, and was always pretty good.
I'm sorry that this guide became out of date so quickly. I'm thinking of rewriting it, but the necessary time commitment is an issue.
