Date, Date Revolution!

A Sushi School Girl Squad Presentation

Greetings everyone! Lady Cyrsei here to remind you about the event of the
season! As you may know, The Sushi School Girl Squad, a Super Group on Virtue,
is holding our first Annual Boy/Girl Party!

Over the last year, the Sushi Squad has held a series of RP tournaments and
Seasonal Events, which consist usually of a series of Single, Duo, Hero,
Villain, and Mixed team events, Costume Contests, Trivia Contests, and this
last Christmas, our party goers even got to meet Santa!

During our last event, we noticed a glaring lack of prepared spectacle
entertainment and lack of knowledge about our group’s founding origins. We
decided to put together another event as soon as possible, which would showcase
everything that the Sushi’s stand for.

Many of our members are self-proclaimed "Japanophiles" with a near obsessive
love and adoration of all things Japanese, and an even larger portion of our
troupe are simply huge fans of anime from which the Sushi Squad draws its
greatest inspiration. The Sushi Schoolgirl Squad is both an homage and a
lighthearted parody group that draws heavily from shojo and magical girl anime,
manga, movies, pop music, video games, and a culture. We wish to share some of
that knowledge and love of that culture with the entire City of player
community.

A great part of getting one’s feet wet in another culture is the realization
that we share things in common. Date, Date Revolution will be an exercise in
these similarities. The following holiday observations are but a small tip of
the iceberg of what the Sushi’s will be portraying through RP the week prior to
our event, which will help enlighten and inform our fellow players of a culture
we greatly respect and admire.

Chocolate Day. Valentine’s Day in Japan is also known as
Chocolate Day. This is the day for girls to express their love to boys; even
the shiest girl can subtly pass her affection to the chosen love interest. Most
get chocolate in the form of giri-choco or obligation chocolate. This is given
to others so they may keep their honor and to show that they are their friend.
If a girl truly loves the boy, she will give him honmei-choco, or prospective
winner chocolate. These are chocolates made by the finest companies, which also
tend to come with expensive gifts. The greatest show of love would be homemade
chocolate.

White Day. In response to Valentine’s Day, though thirty day’s
later, comes White Day. Much like Valentine’s Day, men give presents only to
the ones they really care for on this holiday. If the woman who gave
honmei-choco fails to get a present back, it means that he does not feel the
same way.

Of course these observances are voluntary, but if the young men of virtue find
themselves receiving chocolate, one should not be surprised.

We in The Sushi Schoolgirl Squad try to promote cross-cultural understanding
within the founding of our group and with this event, we have planned a
variable Sushi Buffet. The following is a list of the planned events with short
descriptions and other important event information.

Love Poem Haiku Competition! A Haiku is one of the most
important forms of traditional Japanese poetry. Haiku is, today, a
seventeen-syllable verse form consisting of three metrical units of five,
seven, and five syllables. This competition is for those artistic types who
wish to present their Haikus on the forums. Awards and recognition will be
given during the event.

Sushi Matchmaking Service! Matchmakers have recently returned
to Japan after having become an informal affair in the 80s and the 90s. They
have become the vogue again, and the ceremony is back. Formal dinners and
gift-giving are now the most popular, though before, the choice was only the
husband’s. In modern day society, the women are gaining a voice in the outcome
of the custom. The Sushi Squad brings this tradition to our event by hiring our
own Matchmaker who will pair up willing participants in time for the event.

Boys v. Girls PvP Event! Take off the gloves and let the battle
of the sexes begin! The Sushi Squad was originally founded to be a streamlined
and cohesive RPvP group, and in every one of our events, PvP has been a large
contributing factor. With two instances of Pocket D, we will be making full use
of those Sushi’s with great PvP experience and hosting a Boys v. Girls
tournaments, as well as pitting girls against girls and boys against boys,
until we find the champion for each sex who will battle it out for the grand
prize!

This Issue:

Upcoming Events:

Costume Contests! Come as singular romance or love-inspired
costumes. There will also be a special contest: famous romantic couples in
history contest! Josephine and Napoleon, Romeo and Juliet, Siegfried and Roy;
you name it, you make it!

And last but certainly not least, a performed show for pure spectacle and
enjoyment of our audience.

Date, Date Revolution Blind Date Game Show! Contestants will get a chance to
win a date with our very own school nurse, Elizabeth “Nurse” White!

The details:

On February 8th, 2008, The Sushi Squad and The Cape Radio will began
festivities at 8pm EST in Virtue Server’s Pocket D, a three hour long RPvP
extravaganza starring the likes of:

Nurse White as our bachelorette

Ascendant as “The Announcer”

Comrade Smersh, Stabbo the Clown, Flea Mark Evil and Quinton Vance as our four
lucky contestants

DJ Angel as “The Goddess Venus”

DJ Cosmic as our crazed and deranged “Cupid”

Yume Miyoko and Iceciro will be hosting our PvP tournaments respectfully

An myself as your hostess with the mostest for the night festivities.

Remember that the real winners here will be the participants. No matter where
you’re standing at the end of our various competitions, you will have had a
great time, and that's what this is all about.

If anyone reading this has any questions, wish to help out with the event, or
are interested in becoming a Sushi, please feel free contact me here on the
forums as Lady_Cyrsei. I would be happy to help you in anyway I can.

Hope to see you all there!
