This was the first thing I made when I downloaded Paint.net (A suped-up version of Microsoft Paint). The lines are rough - I didn't have anti-aliasing turned on, some proportions are off and there are a few scribbles outside of the lines I never got arond to fixing.
A nice start If you liked paint.net you might also try GIMP. It's similar to photoshop (at least that's what I ahve been told) and I personally prefer it to paint.net
