((Sorry been busy company's closing down the cen ter I work at and am updating my resume and such))

Nyx smiled, she unwrapped her legs from around him but still held onto him. "Aww, but whats the fun in that. Are you saying a big strong man such as yourself can't lift a little thing like me?"

(That sucks.)
Planting both his hands into the rubble, Acanous pushed up, using all four limbs to avoid straining his back.
"Your words, not mine."

Relying more on his legs to keep balance, he managed to stagger upright, turning back towards the ATC.
"Looks like I picked up a passenger!" He called out.

"Sorry to rescue and run, but we've got some potentially disasterous business to take care of. Wouldn't want an innocent to be caught in the crossfire."

Nyx frowned at the thought of being left behind and let go of Acanous. "No way no how, I'm going with you, I have to pay you back, and I'm far from innocent I can help with whatever it is you're off to do. The only reason I was running was because I'm a bit of a one trick pony and those demons just shrug off fire." She then pointed over towards Anthius still making his way back. "Just ask our white winged friend over there, I can handle myself."

Tamesis smirked, and was about to follow up on his attack when the rod collided with his leg, completely throwing off his already shaky balance. He fell down to the ground, his reflexes, however, allowing him to roll back and onto his feet, putting him in a crouching position.

He then, suddenly, got Jake's message, angrily shouting back, "Jake, mind shutting the [censored] up? Fighting an intruder right now."

[ QUOTE ]

"Damnation, this place is infested!" a harsh voice roared from the crimson gloom of the Arachnos-styled hallway beyond the CC center, "He's alive - get him out! Dead - leave him! C4 there, there, and there! And someone get into the double-C! Blow through, friendlies out, angels one! Champagne in twenty...!"

[/ QUOTE ]

"Infested?!" He shouted back, almost fogetting to let go of the transmission button as he shot up. "Should I point out that this is an Arachnos base, and that you aren't Arachnos?" Frankly, this was mostly out of damaged pride. Tamesis took honor in his position in Arachnos, and, frankly, having some hick of a Malta Gunslinger come in like they owned the place wasn't going to do well for that honor.

Most of the rounds the Malta would have fired at him at that point would simply be deflected off of it by the armor-tight forcefield he had ever-present around him. Odds were, it would take the special rounds only a Gunslinger had to penetrate it to the point of doing damage.

-----

Jake stood, confused, as he received Tamesis's response. It had cut off at the end, but he was absolutely positive he heard the tell-tale accent of a Gunslinger. And play-back of the message confirmed it, and he silently cursed to himself. "Dammit, Tamesis. Where are you? I'll send back-up."

"No need, arby boy." Chuckled a voice to Jake through his communicator. "Backup arriving in 3, 2, 1..."

***

Commander Cynic, accompanied by a bane spider squad and his six personal drones, suddenly popped into being around Tamesis. The tell-tale signs of an ouroboros portal fading away as they appeared.

"Heya boyfriend. Got redirected here once Cry was put down. What's the matter?" Cynic asked Tamesis this, but he didn't even turn to face him. He was busy making sure they weren't struck down anytime soon, by deploying both a dispersion field and a force bubble field using his night staff. The bane spider squad, along with all of Cynic's bots, appeared to have each been individually shielded with protection and insulation fields beforehand, and the protector bots had already applied their own unique shielding to everyone as well.

"Hmph." the blue-scaled draconian huffed at the Gunslinger's words, "That didn't go as planned."

He didn't understand the unseen man's jargon, but it stood to reason something big would happen in less than twenty seconds. Considering he already knew C4 to be a powerful explosive, there was little doubt they planned to blow the entire tower sky-high.

"Ah, nice to see at least some things still happen on schedule." the intruder remarked smugly as Cynic entered the scene. Of course, his voice was at this point likely overpowered by the loud crash of a Zeus Titan 'entering' the CC chamber by sliding on its back, not to mention the rapid reports of heavy automatic weaponry.

"No, you really shouldn't!" a Tactical Operative yelled back as he strafed into the room, still roaring his weapon into the corridor, which by now had filled with smoke and utterly terrifying noise, "Just shoot!"

Several more Malta Operatives now stormed in much like the first, rattling off bullets as the Titan slowly groaned back to its feet. The final one happened to be a TacCom, and unlike the others, his hand clutched what looked like some sort of flare. Also unlike the others, he didn't stop by the firing line that slowly formed about the Titan, instead gunning for the windows - and of course smacking right into Cynic's force bubble as a result.

"What'n...?!" the man bellowed, stumbling a step back as he digested the encounter, "Dammit, shut this crud off an' move your rears, they're right behind us...!"

"Friend of yours?" he asked, an eyebrow raising slightly.

"I dunno, some dragon intruder guy and some Malta. Did you just say Cry's been put down?" He retorted, taking the time to hop back up onto his feet and glance around, using the short intermission for some much needed rest. "Already? That seems sort o-" He was cut off but a rather loud screech as metal met metal, the Malta Titan sliding in on its back, followed in turn by more Malta soldiers, shooting off their guns as if it was going out of style.

"Nevermind." He shouted over the cacophony. "I suppose you have some sort of plan?"

Anthius looked over at Nyx as Acanous pointed her out, then sighed. "More of an acquaintance really, and if she's asking to ag along she is able to take care of herself." He'd have to find out what she was doing here when he could talk to her in private.

Nyx smiled, "See keeper, I won't slow you down at all."

"Time travel is a [censored]." Cynic replied quickly to Tamesis' comment on Cry's swift demise. "And as far as a plan goes? Either use those snake eating guys' portal to get out of here, or shoot everything that moves and THEN portal out of here. Now I guess we should capture said dragon guy to come along with us..."

The Commander was a very simple fellow, but he came to conclusions frighteningly fast. Spotting the blue scaled draconian immediately, Cynic aimed his Night Staff at him and tried to seal the creature in a detention field. Cynic's drones all turned to face the Malta, backed up against the force bubble, and opened fire. Energy bolts, swarm missiles, thermal blasts and plasma filled the space they occupied. The bane spider squad caught on quickly, adding their mace blasts to the mix.

Posted

"Ouch." the blue-scaled remarked morbidly as Cynic's squad stabbed their would-be rescuers in the back, clawed fingers scratching along the keratin plates beneath the draconian chin, "Very ouch. Hm, well. Takes care of my problem."

The towering creature planted his staff-like weapon vertically beside his feet, Cynic's detention field closing about him rendering him unable to participate further. Still, he'd done so beforehand, which stood suspicious to say the least.

Only the Zeus Titan had survived the betrayal with functionality, quickly swinging about and picking the first-best target for its terrifying signature strike: a quad plasma blast. If it had to go out, it'd do so with a bang.

Even so, the surprises today just didn't seem to want and end to them. Not a moment after the machine had roared off its blast, a pulse of crackling blue energies that much resembled some sort of seismic shock wedded to an ocean wave rushed into the CC chamber and picked up the Titan, smashing it against Cynic's force bubble with no hesitation.

This sudden contact of something with a good deal more momentum that Commander Cynic likely caused the man to now sail backwards, or at least it would if his force bubble acted like a solid wall of such. In either case, however, the energy pulse seemed rather undeterred, slamming into that field, continuing on, ramming the dispersion bubble, continuing on yet again, and finally flinging everyone that it happened to catch within its semi-radial, semi-conical field of impact a small distance back, and of course to the ground.

Thankfully, Cynic's shields had managed to protect their charges from the worst of it, but force was force, and the impact of such certainly wasn't something to be taken lightly. Nobody had suffered any direct harm - except perhaps a few bruises upon one's rear end - and while electronic imaging systems carried a fair amount of static for the next few seconds, Cynic's robotic force may well not have employed electricity in the first place.

Still, there wasn't anyone left standing right now, this was a fact. With all that had been going on at the time, the wave had come much too fast to avoid, even by esoteric methods, such as teleportation behind the thing.

The auto turrets a few Malta engineers had managed to place, however, hadn't been quite so fortunate. They'd been torn to pieces and molten to slag - a good indicator of what could have happened if Cynic's protective fields hadn't been there.

Then again, things could always get worse.

With the characteristic clacks of claws upon metal, a cloak-clad figure emerged from the obscuring smoke of the hallway, the assembly of slate-gray vestments advancing into the CC chamber step by rather quiet step. Cynic and Tamesis of course didn't know this, but indeed the figure was the same being Energon X had met in the hangar of the Dark Rover.

"My thanks to you, gentlemen." the veiled saurian creature told them smugly as the black innards of the hood surveyed the scene, catching sight of the barely-alive TacCom fumbling for something that should've been on his munitions belt.

"Are we looking for this?" the new arrival extended an arm, pushing back the slate-gray sleeve to taunt the stricken man with his detonator in the palm of a four-fingered, black-scaled hand whose digits terminated in much the same claws as the towering draconian's, "Too bad. And you were so close..."

The rush of water, the breath of life, the purity of innocence had yet to be tainted. The oasis in the desolate war-torn world stood untouched holding in its womb a being of the planet. Orchids, rare flowers, and plants spotted the chamber constantly replenished by the trickle of pure water from the belly of springs.

"Your in danger..." The whispers could only be heard by those who spoke their language, her delicate beauty awoke frightened, she had yet to taste that of war.

"Run, run!" She scrambled turning toward the cave system, she heard a chuckle.

"Its presence is here!" Flowers popped back into their buds, then a shadow rose from the waters, behind it the liquids boiled and the grass died. Her bright green eyes flashed as her hands went to the ground where a staff formed in her hands.

"If you dare touch me you will feel the very wraith of my kind!" Green energy started to radiate around the woman, her veins pulsed with the Earth's energies.

"You talk to us? We are the entirety of corruption and manipulation o daughter of Gaea. We need a body of purity to make sure our connection is strong."

The Druid took her staff and stabbed it in the ground a wave of green aura called the plants into action. "Such a threat like you, its unimaginable how such a thing like you came into this Earth, what has happened above since I slept!?"

"I will gladly give you your answer to your final words, the world that you remember is gone, and that a being like me was born out of its hate." The shadow came from the ground and twisted around the Druid sucking the green energies out of her.

The vortex swirled the room causing a local earthquake from the internal energies being exchanged. The Druid fought the transformation as the spirits tried to envelop her. Blasts of green and white crept from the tornado of shadows until at last the vortex subsided.

The body cracked and gills hissed out a poisonous gas. At first the voice was a gurgle but a monotone voice that seemed to be amplified by a hollow tree trunk boomed from the creature. "Alive at last, a living person we are, I feel the Earth flow through me, what a feeling it is." The jingle of its movements, indicated its many bells on its body. Flowers and grass died around its feet, thin speckles of black light trailed to the feet of the Dark Druid flowing into it.

"What shall I call myself now, I cannot speak of my other names, something simple." The glowing red eyes of the dark blue skinned man looked up to the now dead surrounding rotting corpses of the oasis that once stood, the water now a murky grime and the vegetation quickly loosing life. The man smiled the tattooed symbols on his face swirling, "Rot."

"Well then. If Anthius says you can stick around, I'm not one to argue. Whatever's going on, it was going on at the site of that last explosion. Let's go."

He looked towards where the sky had lit up briefly, Smiled, and began a series of shorter teleports in that direction, lingering on rooftops, ledges and windows for only half a second before continuing onward.

The lance commander let out a sigh beneath the cover of his helmet's visor. Behind the armored man, another of the fire team now knelt beside him in the open deployment hatch of the ATC.

"Is it just me," the lance commander murmured to his comrade, "or are they heading right for the airfield?"

"They are."

"So they just fought something really nasty not even a short while back, and now they're heading right for the plainly visible satellite beam?"

"They are."

"Well...do we have to follow them?"

"No." the armored lancer turned his head to the side listlessly, looking back in the direction he knew the Dark Rover, "But we should."

"Hmf." the lance commander uttered gutturally, "Fine. Pilot, get after 'em."

And so in short order, the aerial craft began to pursue the jumpers. Chances are it wouldn't keep up with the rapid succession of teleportations at its current low speed, but the decision to keep the hatches open in case rapid deployment necessitated itself didn't allow for another option...

--------------------

"What's the matter?" the thick-robed figure inquired mockingly, hands reaching to the sides of his hood, "You guys' spit disappear?"

With unexpected leniency, Ken threw back the hood, somewhat begging the question of its point if he could cast it off so laxly. The visage underneath wasn't anything, on the other hand, wasn't anything unexpected. Still, the structure seemed quite a bit more saurian than draconian, and didn't resemble that of the blue-scaled creature one bit - the jaw sat neatly integrated with the rest of the skull, and the spiky appearance concentrated solely upon a few of what were more blade-like plates than spikes. Roughly curved rearward, they began just above the eyes and ran down the back of the neck, presumably to continue down the back and tail beneath the slate-gray vestments.

Like the hue of the clawed hands, the scaled hide of the head stood almost pitch-black, and didn't merge with any keratin plating until the pectoral region, somewhat observable by the wide neck of the robes. Unlike the more draconian intruder, however, this one's plates carried a tint of almost midnight blue, which along with the darkness of the surrounding scales formed a stark contrast to the ornate silver necklace that dangled there, representing who-knew-what.

Still, something about this intruder may well have been surprising - the great number of scars he carried. From the largest right across the face to several smaller ones running here and there, it almost appeared this being had gone through a meat grinder at one point or another. The instincts of any experienced combatant would take this as an instant warning of the highest degree; this guy was dangerous, no doubt about it.

"Or are you just trying to formulate some elaborate plan with which to save yourselves?" the intruder went on, tilting his head a bit in the direction of his blue-scaled comrade, "Sky Commander, I think you're good to go. The Ultras and I'll handle the rest."

"Understood." was the response, the towering creature then placing a hand to the side of his head, "Spearhead Alpha to Control, requesting recall..."

Cynic had been in the process of picking himself up and dusting off when he heard the newcomer speak.

"Fug it." He said, pointing his staff at the robed Ken and attempted to place HIM in a detention bubble as well. And recall in any form would be impossible if they were trapped inside these detention bubbles, merely because Cynic believed firmly enough that NOTHING could affect anything inside of them, even being teleported or the likes. Faith-based tech had lots of drawbacks, but provided one believed hard enough, it had its perks as well. Cynic had no intention of letting either of the two escape. Considering one of them was already trapped within a detention bubble, he might as well have already been half successful in his goal. Provided the blue draconian didn't have means to escape the THEORETICALLY inescapable detention bubble. And if the newcomer let himself be trapped, well, the situation would be more of the same.

Rot climbed the tunnels leading to the service. It wasn't until he noticed the swaying plants and rocks, his presence made them inch away from him at every seconds chance. He heard their communications, simple and beyond that complex chatter of beware. Rot thought to himself, if they are communication perhaps they are part of a network.

He lashed out with his new synthetic gluttony. His taint spread through the small network within the caveran, he had to stop. He would surely loose himself if he spread any farther becoming one with the network not its master.

"Your old master has left you. I am your new caretaker, your forge, your visage. This... Hamidon has left you to hide and now I intend to make you strong again. Tell me your secrets."

History flooded through Rot, since the personality of Cry had left, he was not acquainted with the world nor his new servants. Rot learned their names, the Devouring Earth. They were but a small colony left from the once vast empire. The cure had been created for the Devoured, and later used as a weapon agaisnt Hamidon, destroying it and any surviving buds. With the Devoured gone the leadership and organization system had gone into chaos and the Devouring Earth became once again primitive plants. It seemed the oasis the druid had created below leached energy to them keeping them alive.

"The Devoured were strong creatures, how to create them?" Rot was then hit with information, and then felt a pain on his side. He went to grab his side when he felt a bulge. His body a cellular hive, he wanted to get rid of it shedding the imperfection. The pod broke off and fell to the ground. Rot went to pick it up, then heard the message.

"Make it grow, and feed it with the Earth walkers." Rot got on his knees and swirled his hands around the pod. It started to grow, Rot backed away realizing the unnatural speed of growth drained his strength and at the same time the Devouring Earth around him supplied him energy.

The pod was the size of a compact car and blocked the cave way oozing slime that became moss quickly.

"Landwalkers..." Rot saw the beams of sunlight and came out of the cave entrance. The beams of light were in fact fluorescent lights to a sewer entrance were a Crey crew was patching up holes just across the small hole were Rot peaked through.

"Lets get that patched behind us and we will be off for lunch. Just glad we are shutting down these tunnels, but I don't understand why we have to patch up holes."

"You never know what was here before the city was put over it, if you remember this used to be Devouring Earth central before the extinction."

"Well just glad they have their own dimension and they aren't here anymore." The crew was about to move when they heard the jingle of a bell.

"You here that?"

"Don't worry just get to that patch." Rot moved away from the cracked hole, his aura becoming visible. Animating vines erupted from his back and then shot through the small hole where the Crey scientist was peaking. The Crey engineer was instantly killed, the vine impaling his skull. The other screamed as the vines tore the scientist apart. He started to run screaming , running to the nearest checkpoint to raise the alarms, nearly 4 miles of labyrinth sewers.

He tripped feeling the clasp of the vine on his ankle. "Let go, I will give you whatever you want, I don't have a record agaisnt Arachnos! Wait I mean, I did sell evidence that one of your higher ups had dealings with us!" The vines went rigid and stopped.

"What's the information landwalker?" Rot stayed in the shadows, the vines moving back whipping to its source.

"Well, Black Scorpion has been funneling Arachnos funds into Arbiter Drone work arounds and jammers! Please let me go, I was near a promotion and I have children!?"

"So they are destroyable, if anyone is to get the connection that I was once that child then they might send those things back, good to know Crey has a working solution. Now onto..."

"Are you going to let me live? I promise to say nothing to anyone!"

"I plan to let you live yes." The vines grabbed the man and dragged him behind Rot to the cave entrance his screams echoing through the sewers.

The man was knocked out from fear and panic and awoke when Rot was letting the vines let go. He couldn't scream his vocal chords strained from yelling earlier. His body was paralyzed and Rot was smiling.

"Finding it hard to move, the vines have a natural nuero toxin it seems, and its corrosive to." The man looked down and saw that his suit was eaten through by acid and was quickly burning his flesh. "Now."

"Wait... wait..." The man's voice was weak as Rot dragged the last few feet to the transformation. The pod was moist and opened as Rot drew near. The man moaned as he was lifted inside, the pod closed slowly, the man's eyes lazily rolling into euphoria a part of the transformation into a Greater Devoured.

Rot lay in wait, in meditation feeling the transformation, absorbing the guidelines and brainwashing that went into creating a Devouring Earth. Then the pod split open and with it the cavern was in uproar of chatter as if some sort of missing connection was in place. Already Rot felt a connection through the creature and through it to all the Devouring Earth within the chamber. The link now strong, Rot could now clearly communicate.

The Greater Devoured waddled out still growing patches of flesh and drool sliming from its mouth extremities. The creature growled and Rot assumed his position as leader. You wish to grow us our empire? The growl translated in Rot's mind.

"You are but the first, your first task is to collect the landwalkers and turn them to our cause and transform them. Soon we shall walk on the Gift again."

The city above did not know the change, and did not feel the change, but already changes started to appear. Most noticeably in the parks.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"With the absence of Cry we are left extremely vulnerable to psychic wandering, and also attacks. It has been nearly four hours and we haven't even had contact with Ghost Widow, I think we have been doubled cross by outside forces." The group of Arbiters mingled at the table.

"I for one saw that Cry's actions were treacherous and that of his own selfish ambitions!"

"And what evidence do you have of that! The neural scans on those heroes that Cry presumably controlled saw tampering, and that was on a autopsy, there was a chance that Cry did not control those heroes."

"Well then explain his report when he left last week with the request for a Rover and a squad?"

"He had a hunch and by reports he was right, he encountered a rogue Sky Raider unit and did his best to eliminate the infection. As of know we are investigating the Sky Raiders and their attacks on Arachnos are now coming up to us."

"And then explain to us why he just wiped out an entire division of Arachnos, nearly 2 million psychic aware individuals! Explain that!"

"You fool, you don't see the evidence right now, Arbiter Drones are searching the globe for him and they can't even find a trace of his existence until hours ago. Those drones raided Ghost Widow's tower and she wasn't even there, and there was a sign of a struggle. What ever happened there it seems that Ghost Widow, Cry, and Arachnos was played like a puppet, its not like Cry to be manipulated, but there is evidence that he is still alive, his former servants, 2 undead heroes are still animated which means some link is still connected, so Lord Recluse's orders are still held firm, the Arbiter Drones are to remain on hunt till Cry is gone."

"Interesting report Heron, taking into consideration right now, until further evidence Cry is still considered a traitor. This meeting is adjourned, and Arbiter Heron what of Cry's captain Scarlet Eye?"

"I do not know why Cry would associate himself with those Chaos Elementals, give him my protection authority. But keep a eye on him."

"A Chaos Elemental?" The Arbiters were shuffling out of the room of mumbling and still the shock of friends and allies gone.

The eyes of Arbiter Heron connected with that of the other Arbiter and left, then the Arbiter could of sworn that he saw Cry Heron holding a blanket bundle, and soon he to noticed, he was holding a bundle, he looked down and saw his own face.

"Do not worry Arbiter's, I will always protect my first home, Arachnos. Make sure that you return the favor and that you protect me!" The face twisted to that of Cry's and the Arbiter screamed, and soon the place became darkness then light. He woke, a bad dream he thought until he heard another scream and that of another.

((occ: Didn't realize how long it was, but I wanted to point out that though Cry is Rot, Rot is not Cry, Rot does know he was once Cry but doesn't know what Cry did since Cry is a collective of demons and the strongest assumes control.

Also the whole connection with the Arbiters, eventually a conspiracy that Arachnos had been given false information and the growing weakness of the psychic division gives way to a power struggle among the Triumvirate of the Lieutenants leading to the Rebellion noticing Arachnos' sudden weakness and the readiness to strike, then to war, something this RP needs a central plotline.))

((Eh, I think I'll wait and see what Dogma and Krazy's charges have to say on that. ))

"Brilliant decision." the dark saurian remarked on Cynic's course of action with dripping sarcasm. As he detention field enclosed him, his hands had once more merged with the folds of the vestment, "So, now what are we going to do? Just stand here until the timers expire? Personally, I wouldn't be opposed if you cared to do so, but I think the TDS approach syndrome is too close for you to change your mind..."

Completing his journey of qucik jaunts, Acanous perched himself on the rooftop of the old "Inbound Flights" Terminal, now painted red and black. The field was in a state of disarray, with pockmarks along the ground from weapons fire, and vehicles overturned, some being used as instant barricades by technicians and soldiers alike.

He looked over his shoulder, back towards the slowly encroaching ATC, ensuring no AA guns would be positioned to take it out.

((Can I get a rundown of who all is at the airfield?... lol, "You have entered a PVP Zone!.... /whoall"))

"Oh, don't you worry about us." Cynic responded. "It doesn't really even matter if I get through or not." As Cynic spoke, he casually tapped out a sequence on his wrist gauntlet, and the familier orange glow of an Ouroboros portal appeared.

Then he turned and smacked Tamesis on the helmet. "Oi! Boyfriend, stop drooling and get your [censored] into action. Take these here spidews and meet up with the squad I left behind at that snake-eatery place. Take good care of our pals here if I don't make it through." He raised his staff and brought it back down, creating a dull thud. Two thin white rays appeared between staff and detention fields, and both them and their occupants started moving towards the portal. Now that was interesting-Maybe the detention fields could be affected, if not their contents or by them? It would be impossible to teleport the fields along with their prisoners away unless they were physically shoved through an on-site portal, like the one belonging to Ouroboros the Commander was about to shunt them through, but perhaps the two within could take advantage of this feature?

Assuming a gadjillion bombs hadn't just gone off and ruined everything that may or may not have happened, of course.

Or not.

"Is what now?" the second intruder commented aridly at Cynic's attempts ot move either of them, then began to gradually step to the side of the smoke-filled entryway, "Oh, you were hoping these would immobilize us? So sorry to disappoint you. I'm afraid normenergetics aren't enough for that."

An odd sound now arose within the chamber, extremely faint at first, but growing steadily. It resembled that of some overdimensional propeller mixed with that of a base drum and a faulty silencer.

"Now then, if you've got any other bright ideas," the intruder continued smugly, "you've got about six seconds before the first Ultra notices you..."

"Oi, don't hit me on the head!" Tamesis replied, however, nodding as he accepted Cynic's plan. As soon as he stepped toward it, though, a deep grumbling interrupted him. "[censored]." He muttered, attempting to pull the detention captured draconian and saurian toward the portal. "Better hurry the Hell up. That sure didn't sound like a care-bear."

-----

Jake was getting annoyed now. Ever since Cynic radioed him back saying back-up was unnecessary, neither of the two had responded. Deciding to, quote unquote "[censored] it.", he began to trace Tamesis's location himself, eventually locking on to it and making his way toward the nearest teleportation apparatus.

And so soon too. For craps sake, SOMEBODY has to take SOME damage and STAY dead long enough for grass to grow on their graves before coming back! Wakie wakie Ghost Widow. We're about to be screwed over and not in the nice way.

Ghost Widow awoke. She immediately knew that she was in her tower at Mercy isle, that her division had just been all but wiped out, Wretch was dead, and things had likely erupted into big steaming piles of [censored] while she had been daydreaming or the like. That wasn't like her, she was supposed to mimic the current feel and mood that was the majority of Arachnos. Right now, that mood was around 'The diversion you are ignoring is their main attack!' Whatever the hell that meant. Needless to say, she was somewhat confused, not to mention groggy.

Still, she had important work to do. She got up from the floor, *her personal quarters didn't have any bodily comforts, except for the useless crap Cry had installed that had by now doubtlessly been removed. She was a ghost, after all* and drifted over to the one piece of furniture left in the room: The central mainframe computer for the tower!

About an hour later of catching up with what she had missed the past two days, Ghost Widow stormed *or angrily drifted* out of her chambers and made for the artifact vaults. Assuming Cry hadn't been stupid enough to try and use them; most of the artifacts should have still been intact. Otherwise Cry wouldn't have ever been trouble at all; they'd only have had to wait until he tried consuming an energy field larger than his head. Lord knows though, he seemed to have a huge obsession with trying to consume objects larger then his entire body for the hell of it.

Still, what she was looking for wasn't an artifact. It was a rather simple device, truth be told. A Psionic amplifier. Heading back to her chambers with the device in hand, she recalled the tattered remains of her division to the tower with orders to guard it with their lives, as per usual. She reactivated the Arbiter drones in front of the doors, keyed them to target ANYTHING, friend or foe, that approached short of Lord Recluse, posted an extra drone outside her own chambers for good measure, and then locked the entire tower down once she had made sure everyone who was supposed to be there was inside.

Then she activated the Psionic amplifier and drifted into a vegetative state reserved for vegetables. The Psionic amplifier was an experimental version, and tests had deemed it lethal for anybody to use because of its tendency to cause terminal accelerated brain cancer. This was not a problem for the brainless *har de [censored] har* Ghost Widow.

She immediately expanded her mind and began to re-weave the Psionic and mental defenses that used to have surrounded the Rogue isles, repairing, reestablishing, and improving it, thread by thread. This would take months of work, and once that was done, a few more months of fortifying and reinforcing it, along with making it self-dependent. Until then, she was just going to have to sit there...

OOC: Mental network is back up, Ghost Widow and the remainder of the widow/fortunata/seeress/fateweaver division is down, and untouchable. Ghost Widow's tower is now off-limits until such time when the scales need to be balanced again, which, hopefully, they won't ever need to be.

Well then, that was rather productive of her. Now what mischief can I get up to...?
