Wow, that is a terrible run of misfortune. 
My heart and prayers go out to him and his family. I'd commision something, but my ability to afford non-essentials is well, non-existent.

I hope that folks like his art as much as I do, this guy's all pro, all heart, and ... wow what troubles his family is having. It looks like he does really great comissions (there is a link in his journal) and they're reasonably priced for the great quality they look to be.
