Well, today's the big day! Comic stores across the country will be giving out exclusive free books today, so make sure to drop by your local shop for all the great exclusives, including MARVEL ADVENTURES: IRON MAN & HULK #1 (by yours truly).

And if you live in Southern California, come see Philip Tan (Spawn) and myself at Comic Odyssey in Pasadena, where we'll be doing free sketches from 12 to 4.

It's to bad none of the free comics are for anything interesting (at least interesting from my view point of only being a DC fanboy)

Took the whole fam out David. My 4 year old picked up Transformers, my 6 year old picked up Sonic, my wife picked up the Wizard "How to draw" magazine for me...I mean for my 6 year old, and I grabbed, the Hulk Ironman of course

My 6 year old had her comic read before we got home

Good stuff and a great idea.

I wanted to grab the Hulk-Ironman, but by the time I got out to the comic shops all copies of that were gone. I picked up The Astounding Wolf Man instead.

We got one of everything they had, which was pretty much everything. We also picked up a few others, so we walked out with over 20 comics and paid only $7 and change.

My son got his Spider-Man, and I found a few that were okay. The Transformers one is supposed to be a prequel to the movie (a reprint of the first of the four part series according to my husband, though). The Iron Man/Hulk was okay, but I'm just not an Iron Man fan. Never have been.

The manager/owner thought my son, dressed in a Spider-Man shirt and short combo, with Spider-Man style shoes (red and silver and cool looking), and a Spider-Man band-aid (no ouchie, he just wanted the band-aid), was the cutest thing ever.

We had a fun day, then I came home and watched the Kentucky Derby. Yet again I chose the winner. I really should start laying bets.

Awesome--I'm so glad you all went! Here in Pasadena, we were mobbed by families, and it was great to see everyone (mom, dad, AND kids) walk away with something they could enjoy.

Got that too, and I'm looking forward to it. Kirkman's always great.

I even grabbed a Peanuts one they had. Some the store had left over from the year before, and since he had boxes of the stuff, he didn't care how many we grabbed. He didn't want them taking up space.
