Finally a great article from our favorite paper hast returned to bless us

*tears up*

Sorry something in my eye...

Now to the article something has been running in my mind (1)does anyone else see the old Justice Lord Superman(justice League tv show for those who missed it) mentality in Statesman's speech? States reminds me of reading Marvel's Civil War Front Lines finale when the reporters questioned Cap as to did he know anything about America that he is allegedly protecting, basically he is so out of touch that not even he knew what Myspace was. States needs to take off the costume once in a while and walk amongst the people and reeducate himself that the 20s america is a looong time ago.

(2) What peon in the Defense Department(I think this is more Homeland Security) or NSA, or CIA gave this man permission to go public with vital secrets that could jeopardize the security of any covert operative in (and off) the field? Shut him up guys, cut the transmissions guys really...I hope they pounce on him for this breach faster than the FCC did about the wardrobe malfunction.

Other than that great read hope to see more

There could be an argument here about whether "keeping in touch with our roots" is more important than "keeping with the times" or vice versa, but I'll leave that alone since that would derail the topic :P .

I think the people in charge of States' attitude want him to be a bit more like the ancient gods within the Classics that always had very human shortcomings despite their enormous powers. Zeus constantly cheated on Hera (even changing into different animals/forms in order to have sex), Hera was constantly jealous/suspicious of Zeus (clearly for good reason), Hades kidnapped Persephone, Athena "punished" Arachne for daring to claim she was better than the god at tapestry, so on and so forth.

Besides, if they didn't take that approach and allowed him to come off as this amazing avatar of perfection, he'd probably be way too much of an obvious clone of Superman. As it stands now, he's subtly unique enough to be considered his own character even with the Superman allusions.

No offense to anyone but is it me or is Stateman's speech sounding something along the lines of what President Bush gave to the public before invading Iraq.

LMAO

I was thinking the same thing!
