Gang Wars (RP)
((So, ill join. Ive actully got a Gangster for a char, the name is Hunter Rakeram. Server: Virtue, Level: 18 (At the moment) Archtype: MM, So if I can join, ill RP as Hunter Rakeram.))
A commanding shout cut through the air.
"Reach fer the sky, varmint!"
The source was a man in the garb of a Malta Gunslinger, the deep-blue uniform meshing well with the visible portion of the man's slightly graying black hair. The gray-green eyes of the two-meter tall Gunslinger fixed the mutated Family member with what seemed to be the coldest glare a human could muster.
Still the eyes held little in comparison to the heavily modified Desert Eagle in the Gunslinger's black fingerless glove, the barrel of which pointed squarely at Lucertola.
If the reptilian mutant had any sense at all, he knew not to pull anything funny right now. Standing at a distance of roughly twelve meters, the Gunslinger's round would find its target before he could so much as twitch.
Malta's Special Qualification Marksmen were lethal at distances up to fifty meters with just a regular 9mm. What this man could do with the futuristic-looking weapon he wielded at a mere twelve...
That was anyone's guess...

OOC: Yeah feel free to join just jump right in.
Lucertola di Morte slowly raised his hands into the air. "It would appear you've got me. Of course I am more than a little confused what a member of the illustrious Malta would be doing here. Especially while I am eliminating a hero. It just strikes me as off, you can correct me if I am wrong in thinking so. But I think a young man such as yourself oughtta know that if you even fake like yous was going to shoot me, I would snap his neck in an instant."
Meanwhile Michael was writhing in the branches of the tree.
"Helmet, get me a way out of this."
"My only suggestion would be to attempt to release a blast out of your feet."
"Can I do that, Helmet?"
"If you give me a moment I can reconfigure the system."
"Just hurry the hell up would ya? These guys are making me uncomfortable."
((What's this? Nobody wants to help the returnee out? Where are da family? No Tro'boyz? Skah! Haven't seen Tsoo many Tsoo either...))
"So ya like Malta, eh?" the cowboy-esque man chuckled at being called a 'young man' with his obviously graying hair, "Ya don't got much brains up there, do ya? Now ya let the man down nice an' slow, or I'm gonna be findin' myself wearin' a new pair of snake-skin boots."
Apparently, he hadn't forgotten about the other Family members either, reminding them sternly, "And don't yalls be gettin' any funny ideas. I'd hate to ruin them nice clean suits o' yers with moth holes..."

(I made the mistake of forgetting to put OPEN in next to RP in the title)
"If it appears that I don't have much brains you should look in a mirror because you don't have the brain capacity to see how ridiculous you look, Cowboy. I wouldn't worry about those guys, they're a bunch of chumps. I am the only one you need ta worry about, because when I drop this guy, I will slitting your throat before he hits da floor. You with me so far? Don't blink."
It was then that Michael suddenly began to fall. Lucertola di Morte burst toward the elderly cowboy with a spine jutting out of his wrist. The lizard man's speed was mind-boggling considering his size, and before the Iron American hit the ground, Lucertola was almost upon the gunslinger.
Looks like I misjudged the time it would take to be slitting this guy's throat , thought Lucertola as he swung at the man with his spine.
Hunter Rakeram walked into a small district in Sharkhead Isle, with his fairly large band of thugs gaurding him. More than a dozen of men. "Alright boys, we have some robbing to do." uttred Rakeram.
They just walked right into the bank, like theres nothing there, Hunter Rakerm not even haveing to touch a single man, due to all the thugs. They cleared out the bank. Hunter Rakeram set a explosive charge on the vault, and its opened. He took his prize.
He proudly walked out with his cash. Another villan walked into the bank, wanting the money. The thugs calmly walked to the other villan, and quickly took action to shoot him.
Hunter Rakeram punched the mask off, and noticed from under the mask, it was a highly wanted Villan, Kesrotran. He then took a knife and slit his throat, then removeing the head easily. Hunter Rakeram is no hero, but not exactly a villan either. Hunter Rakeram works for a Orginization called YBHO, or Yeva's Bounty Hunter Orginization. ((YBHO building isnt easy to find, its a hidden "Apartment building" or atleast what looks like one from the outside. So no one can just walk right into YBHO.))
It was a gamble, to be sure - running at a Gunslinger in the face of his weapon always was.
And the odds were stacked against Lucertola.
But the man's finger did not squeeze the trigger.
The gray-green eyes followed the swift mutate's movement with almost mechanical precision, meticulously tracking the motions of hands, legs, and the general flow of Lucertola's whole body.
Almost like he was sizing the reptilian up.
Moving different this time...and where's yer buddy, huh? Or did he teach ya to grow trees now? The spine's new too...hmm...
He seemed to be ignoring the Iron American entirely, focusing on analyzing Lucertola's movements into a general picture that would give him the best option to counter.
A choice was made.
As the spine cleaved through the air, Lucertola's opponent vanished from one moment to another. The surrounding air collapsed into the vacuum the man's teleportation had created.
Stumbling into the sudden suction or not, Lucertola suddenly found his opponent a few meters behind him. The man's Desert Eagle reported with a sound of thunder, blasting a liquid nitrogen round away at almost the speed of its own sound.
The N2 round had a dead bead on Lucertola's back, and at this range it was almost impossible the thing would miss. Upon impact, the reptilian would be frozen solid in a rapidly expanding layer of solid ice in less than a second...

Lucertola turned to see the bullet fired and was fully aware that he couldn't dodge this one. In a last gasp of effort to avoid being frozen, Lucertola shot spines out of every part of his body, creating a sphere of spines around him. The bullet hit and immediately many of the spines froze and shatter, but Lucertola had managed to prevent himself from being hit. But the spines were a part of him and slowly the ice moved up the spines and onto his skin, and he would soon be frozen.
"Good shot," said Lucertola with toothy grin. "It looks like I am going to need some first aid, so I am gonna have to get going, maybe we will pick this up another time? If you need to find me, check with your mother, she has my number," concluded Lucertola di Morte with a laugh as he and his fellow Family members took off.
"Michael, Lucertola di Morte is getting away, you should pursue him, quickly! Also, a bank robbery was just reported as well." said Helmet.
"Negative, Helmet, I gotta find out who this guy is," replied Michael.
Michael turned to the gunslinger. "Identify yourself!"
"Out of the way, you'll only get hurt!" yelled Soul Striker, as he jumped off a roof top, landing with a thump. He was lean, with body armor, resembling that of crey powersuit armor, minus the back pack, and in a blue design, with red radiation markings on the edges, and with a strange helmet on top, and a visor, you couldn't seem to see his face at all either, because he wore a cloak over his face, almost like that of a reaper. "I heard your broadcast, and came as soon as I could, I'm only sorry I wasn't faster! But your safe now, I can handle this." Said he, in a very cocky manner The hero pressed some sort of button on his suit, and an aura of light began to emit out of his armor, and he assumed a fighting stance. "You ready?" he said, almost playfully. Battle would soon commence.
Hm, that wasn't as witty as usual. He's tryin' to throw me off. Well, two can play at that game.
"Later, Sonny-Jim." the man retorted with a low growl, disappearing again wiht the sound of collapsing air.
Running didn't do much good against someone who could get to where you were going without having to cross the space in-between. Teleportation equipment was a very useful thing to do so, and before Lucertola knew it, the dark-blue gunman was once more in his way.
Right in his face.
Calaculating an immediate strike, the man wasted no time. His gloves suddenly crackled with energy and a bright-red fist rammed right towards the reptilian's gut, the other charged gauntlet operating defensively to deflect potentially incoming spines.
If this didn't succeed in bringing Lucertola coughing to his knees - as the general reaction to being socked in the stomach with an energy punch was - he'd just have to up the ante...

"And he is gone, thanks a bunch pal," said Michael to the new arrival. "Well I suppose you can still help. We need to go take care of the bank robbery. Follow me," said Michael as he leaped into the air, bounding towards the scene of the robbery.
Meanwhile Lucertola was becoming increasingly pissed with this guy who kept coming at him. Lucertola took the hit in his stomach surprisingly well
"Look here, ya old jerk. I said I am leaving and while I appreciate your attempts to follow me, your gonna have to move on, at least until I regroup a little. I still don't even know if you are a hero, or another villain. This damn city is so full of us super powered types I can never tell the difference. In any case, I will leave you with a parting gift. One that I am sure you won't be following me after I gives it to ya."
Lucertola stood up tall and raised his hand into the air summoning roots forth out of the ground which bound the man in place. And then he raised the other hand into the air causing a thorny bush to burst from the roots, crawling up the gunslinger's legs and wrapping tightly around his neck.
"There, now if you do somehow manage to get out of this, and you do decide to follow me, I will kill you. That's not a threat. Its a fact. Don't even try to follow me. If you struggle too much before the roots die away, they will tighten. And you wouldn't want that. I would kill you now, if I didn't enjoy the challenge so much. Don't worry though, Grumpy, I'll see ya later."
Lucertola turned with the rest of his crew, and he sped away leaving his team running behind him. Even if the gunslinger did get out, the only ones he would be able to find were Lucertola's lackeys.
At least that was the idea.
The Family members might have all been super-speeders (which was just about the only explanation as to why they'd gotten away from not one, but two heroes to quickly), but they certainly weren't too smart.
Lucertola had just made a very big mistake. A very common mistake. A pit people fell into every minute of every day. But that didn't change the sheer magnitude of it.
Lucertola had assumed.
He had assumed the energy punch wouldn't be followed up.
He had assumed the Gunslinger would give him time to talk.
And he had assumed the man would give him time to act.
None were true.
Holding such an extensive monologue, standing tall and raising one's hands into the sky, and holding another monologue all required something.
Time.
And Lucertola had just run out of just that.
"Look..." was all the reptilian got out before the second energy-charged fist closed as well, building up its energies as it went. The Gunslinger came down rapidly with a technique heroes and villains alike feared - and commonly referred to as 'Bonesmasher'...

OOC: Sorry guys, but this just isn't working, while I like DeviousMe's writing style, I don't like that he just changed what my character's did. Either DeviousMe edits his post or this RP is done. What you are doing is Godmoding which I said was against the rules from the start. Every time I said that Lucertola di Morte was leaving, you would say "no he is not" and come up with some new way for him to not escape, and the first two times, I said to myself, "ok, he is just making it interesting, I will play along with it, and then escape, and it will be an opportunity to build a rivalry between the two. It would be good for RP. But instead, you just decide that when I said Lucertola put you in the Strangler that it didn't happen and that you hadn't finished the attack you started in your previous post. I don't know how on Earth people can stand to roleplay with you if your character has no flaws, and never even gets hurt. I will admit that running from your guy and saying that he escaped could be construed as a bit of a cop-out, but I at least allowed your attacks to hit, and do damage. When you hit me with your freezing bullet, I took it, took damage, and then attempted to run, so that the story could unfold further. But you teleported in front of him and punched him in the gut, which you made apparent should bring Lucertola to his knees. So once again, I play along, take the punch, and then try again to make it apparent that no character is perfect, by using strangler and then you claim that did not happen. When does it occur that my posts actually mean as much as your posts? You say something happens, I go with it and keep moving. I say something happens, and you completely ignore the vast majority of my post, and say that you continued to punch me from your previous post and that my attacks never even occurred. I am sorry for sounding angry, but I am frustrated at the fact that you have decided that your character is invincible. I mean for crying out loud, even when you play in the game, teleporting takes at least a small amount of time to do. Even a character with Superspeed, one of the fastest travel powers, isn't fast enough to hit you before you teleport away. I don't know what you are trying to do here!
((Ah, so we are having a problem with my writing style, are we? Okay, then let me sit down and explain this to you:
1. Escape - def: to elude pursuit.
Whether player or NPC, I have found it takes more to escape from someone than just 'running away'. People will stay on you, especially if you're just running down the street. Ducking into a nearby warehouse or jumping down a nearby manhole is the preferred method of comic book villains for good reason - it makes sense. If you can make your pursuer lose track of you, you can generally escape. 'Runing away' does not do so.
2. Godmoding - def: varies, but generally "dictating the actions of a person/object one has not the privilege to control"
You are apparently interpreting this as "my character autohitting your character". This is not so. I never stated either the bullet nor the punch struck; I merely stated what each attack was going for and that it came at very close range, making it hard to evade:
[ QUOTE ]
...a bright-red fist rammed right towards the reptilian's gut...
[/ QUOTE ]
Towards, not into. Hard to evade, but not impossible.
Indeed, if I were to apply this definition, I could state you guilty of godmoding. In your last post, not only did you deny my character a chance to react to the actions of yours (a monologue that took several seconds), but your character also autohitting mine with both an immobilize and a hold:
[ QUOTE ]
roots forth out of the ground which bound the man in place. And then he raised the other hand into the air causing a thorny bush to burst from the roots, crawling up the gunslinger's legs and wrapping tightly around his neck.
[/ QUOTE ]
Were these autohit powers in-game, I probably would have let this slide. However, they are not - and frankly it makes no sense that the man would just stand there and do nothing a all, when I clearly stated:
[ QUOTE ]
If this didn't succeed in bringing Lucertola coughing to his knees [...] he'd just have to up the ante...
[/ QUOTE ]
This very clearly indicated something else was on its way if the punch did not yield the desired effect. Yet you completely ignored it.
As far as I'm concerned, my post was a reaction to undo your attempt to godmode - dictating the actions of my character, who you do not have permission to control, by having him do nothing in response to a lengthy monologue, as well has having him auto-immobilized and auto-held.
Therefore, I see no reason to change it.))

And I already admitted that my constant attempts to run were considered a cop out, and even if I did attempt to go down a man hole cover or duck into an alley, you would most likely just TP in there. And you are accusing me of godmoding as evidence as to why the godmoding you had done before my post should be allowed. It would appear you will not acknowledge any fault of your own, even though you never explained why your guy can teleport as a method of avoiding every attack. And at this point it would appear that this will not be a successful RP and really should just stop. But thank you for attempting at the very least, I do appreciate that.
((Your character attacked precisely once with a spine. My character teleported out of the way. I see no godmoding there, sorry.
If you are referring to my post undoing your godmoding, then you are correct - I used godmoding to undo your godmoding.
Frankly, I felt insulted that you would take control of my character, who is specifically trained to take down metahumans like Lucertola, without my permission, and have him do nothing as he was attacked not once, but twice.
All I did was have him react as he would if Lucertola began the actions you described. Only instead of doing nothing, I had him do something.
However, I see you are not interested in having a logical discussion here. Therefore, goodbye.))

Hunter Rakeram sat on a subway bench, and dashed into the subway train. He was curreantly wearing a black suit, guns, tattos, and mask all shrouded. The mask was shoved into the suit, but he sat in a darker corner, tipping his hat, which also shrouded his mouth. He then shuffled out.
((Wait a sec, you said this was over? Nevermind then. Well, if it isnt, then you can RP on with me.))
OOC: I have been away from the game for a while so I am a little out of practice with the roleplaying but I think it should go well. The setting is this: Your character is going to be a soldier of one sort or another in one of the villain groups from the game or from a villain group of your own design. If your character is a hero your character will be a member of one of the Hero organizations from the game, or a Supergroup of you own design. I recommend that we try to stay with groups from the game that way you are more likely to have multiple people from the same groups in the RP. Here are the rules, most of which are just standard.
1. No God-like characters
2. Don't use other people's characters without their permission.
3. Please limit yourself to no more than 3 characters, so you don't confuse the crap out of people.
4. Have fun, and be realistic, or as realistic as one can be when roleplaying about superheroes and supervillains.
Michael Richardson, or the Iron American as he was better known as, had recently been invited to be an official employee of Longbow, which as it turned out was no more glamorous than being an unaffiliated hero. But at least he was getting paid now.
"Michael, we have a message from HQ. Your needed to go take care of a gang fight taking place in Blyde Square over in Steel Canyon," said Helmet. Helmet is more or less Michael's conscience, and of course is also the head piece to Michael's iron suit which he wears when he is doing his crime fighting thing.
"All right, Helmet, let's get going."
Michael put on the rest of hiis armor and leapt out of the window of his apartment off to Blyde Square.
Meanwhile in Blyde Square The Family was starting a rumble with the Trolls. A drug deal had gone poorly and a Troll got shot by a trigger happy Family member. It was then that one of the Trolls pulled a shotgun on The Family. As the first Shotgun shot was fired, Lucertola Di Morte bolted onto the scene. With his Super Speed, the Lizard of Death (which is what Lucertola di Morte means), managed to get in front of the shotgun shot with time enough for him to conjure a plant forth from the ground to take the shot for him.
Lucertola di Morte had until just recently been the mild mannered Italian gangster for the Family named Vincent Gandolfi, or Vinny G as he was more commonly known. But after he didn't follow through on a Family order they were going to have him killed in a mutagen production plant. Knowing that he was in trouble, Vinny had bought the boss a pet iguana to make ammends, which he was going to give to the boss upon the night of their meeting. It was a weird present to be sure, but it was expensive and he knew that that would be all that the boss really cared about. But when he met with the boss that evening they bound him and gagged him and took him to the plant. They shoved him into a vat of the mutagen, and along with him went the iguana and its miniature habitat. The lizard and the plants from the cage infused with Vinny's DNA and he became a giant man lizard. When Vinny breached the surface of the vat he leapt out and killed his assailants with complete ease. The boss, who was not present at the killing heard about this and decided it would be best to make ammends with the giant lizard. He promoted Vinny and soon Lucertola di Morte as the other mobsters called him was one of the Family's top assassins.
The fight raged on with Lucertola di Morte speeding around slitting the throats of Trolls with the spines that he would shoot from his arms. It was then that the Iron American arrived on the scene to quell the riot.
"Helmet, identify the giant lizard thing," demanded Michael.
"Identified. Lucertola di Morte, a high ranking member of The Family."
Turning to the monster Michael aimed his fist. "Lucertola di Morte, you will stop killing these trolls immediately and will come quietly with me to Longbow Headquarters."
"Looky here, punk. If you're looking to get involved here I should warn you what a mistake that would be," replied Lucertola in reptilian growl with an Italian accent.
"I didn't actually think you were going to listen to me, so let's do this the American way."
"What? You think that because I got the accent that I'm not an American. If anything I am the one doing things the American way. Murder and steal till you get to the top!" shouted Lucertola di Morte as he ran full speed at Michael with a giant spine protruding from his hand.
Michael leapt out of the way just as the lizard swung at him. "I am wearing a suit of armor, pal. Poking me with a stick may prove slightly ineffective even if you do hit me," said Michael mockingly. Michael charged his blaster and swung an energy torrent down at Lucertola di Morte and the other gang members that were there. Lucertola dodged effortlessly while the other went flying backwards.
As the Iron American descended to the ground, Lucertola commanded a huge tree straight out of the concrete up at Michael insnaring him in it branches, which Lucertola wrapped around Michael arms and legs.
"Looks like your stuck," said Lucertola di Morte, "and if you struggle I will snap your arms and legs off."
Panicing, Michael commanded, "Helmet, send out a broadcast for help from other heroes in the area, and quickly."
"Yes Michael" replied Helmet as he sent out the broadcast
OOC: This is my set up for you all to join in. I hope its not cheezy. You don't have to be a hero to jump in now, you can be a rival gang, or anything. Have fun with it.
