still seems like its at an angle, cold (but its always the same leaning, so you're rockin awsome consistancy... I certainly cant claim that...)
Was it intentional this time? (cause it looks sort of like TA's flying...)

someone mentioned doing that cross bar thing.... have you tried it out yet?
if so.... is this one of them? if not... hows it working out for you?

btw, Im still liking the detail

Doing a progress report.

I have redrawn the pic on a new piece of paper with a slightly changed pose. I think this one looks better overall.

As usual, critiques welcome, want this to be great.

Coincidentally, just posing a question for you all. And I want you to be honest. Would you pay me for a picture? Even if it was cheap? Say, $25 for full color/multiple characters/background?

For paper, check Wal-Mart. They do happen to carry some decent sketch books there. The Super Wal-Mart near my work does, anyway. In the craft/art section they have some slightly more advance stuff. It's not Strathmore, but it's decent.

You can also look for sketchbooks at book stores. They sell hardback plain paper sketchbooks at Barnes and Noble and at Borders, although they can be a bit pricey.

I suggest Jerry's Artarama for any on-line purchases. Back in my past life of airbrushing I found Jerry's prices 50%-70% below any Michaels stickers. ASW Express has slightly better prices but had me on (long) back orders about half the time. It's been allot of years since ordering from these folks, but that's the best I can offer for now.

Get yourself some pads of heavy paper, watercolor paper, or bristol board. If you want to spring for illustration board it will take a real beating, and allow you to paint over any work. Another key element would be a good set of pencils or pens. If you're placing an order anyway you might check the prices.

The drawing you have going is looking great by the way. I really like the detail on his forarms and staff. What would TA be without his uber staff?

Jerry's is awesome! I get my W&N Series 7 brushes from them at a significant discount. I was giving options for not buying online since not everyone can.

If you have a choice, go with Jerry's. They're always running specials.

Speaking of, I need to update my address with them. Their catalog always leaves me wanting to spend more money than I have.

Egads, back to back posting. *sigh*

I think they're about $20, as opposed to a $5-$7 price tag for a spiral-bound sketch pad. They are hardbound, though, so they'll take a beating, but are heavy to carry. You just need to decide what means the most to you.

Since I have a bad back, the less weight, the better. I do have some hardbound journal books I use for writing that I got on clearance at $5 each, but that was an unusual price. I don't carry them everywhere, either.

enough about the paper... the pic is AWSOME, man... I love the pose...its almost got a feline quality to it... like:

Just an update.

I've recently gotten sick and it's delaying my work. I'm hoping I can get it done by the end of the weekend, but that's subject to time.
