I think I'd scare people if I LARPed...

See... I tried backyard wrestling... that's... kind of LARPing...

Those bWo characters in my Kingdale Backgrounder are some of the characters we had, with mild tweaks to their names. Guess which one was me!

Don't get me wrong! I'm not saying the two (BYW and LARP) are anything alike. I find absurdity to be funny, so it was an attempt at humor!

Edit: Added that disclaimer at the end there.

Rosalind: <_< Yeah, silver is bad. >_>

I don't know. I think as long as you're with people you're cool with, LARPing wouldn't be so bad. 'Cause like, isn't that what we do as kids? Run around and play pretend?

Damn, it'd be nice to do that again.

My brother and I grew up usually pretty isolated from other people, so we would stage our own LARP-like games. It helped to have forests to run around in, or even a wide expanse of bedrock when we lived in Georgia. For anything we felt would get too epic or bizarre, we turned to our stuffed animals. My main COH characters are based off the stuffed animal ones, in fact. Randall's based off my favorite GUND Snuffles bear that we wound up overstuffing until he could double as a pillow.

Wow I gotta quit leaving my questions for more then a day. Three pages is about five times the normal response I get. Well Thank you all for the input it helps make the decision a little easier.

Vampire the Requiem is a pretty good system. It's a rework of the old Vampire the Masquerade. I like it all right.

There are a couple of things to keep in mind if you're going to start a Vampire game:

1) World of Darkness campaigns are set in a world of monsters. It is not a nice place and it's not supposed to be. Moreover, like some other horror games, your vampire characters run the risk of insanity from their actions, which in this case takes the form of losing your humanity as you slide toward the monster.

2) Vampire games are meant to be intensely political. There are a nice array of powers and many of them can be quite impressive toward the top end, but the game is really about the social politics of creatures that don't die of old age. They can get quite violent, but there will be quite a lot of behind the scenes manipulation and such. If a political game does not sound appealing, this may not be the best first step into tabletop gaming for you.

3) This is purely opinion, but Vampire in particular seems to attract some of the most bizarre of gamers, and gamers in general are kind of odd people to begin with.
