An interesting art challenge.
I actually saw this on deviantart a couple days ago.
I don't get how exactly it'd work, tho'. Would we all post the stuff here, would we be judged, etc?
There's also a couple that I'd skip... example: I don't want Derek dying. @.@
Nah, no judging, I wouldn't think. And we could post stuff here if you wanted. It's more of a personal exercise. And I believe that in 100 pictures you're bound to do one that you enjoy. Maybe we just post favorites?

Hmm, I'll have to try this - After I get done with my que

An interesting idea, it would give those who have artist's block something to go for! Can't wait to see some posts from all the talented people here.
...actually thought of having commissions done along a similar vein. basically give the artists the characters and a one word description of the scene and then let em loose to see what they come up with.~

Introduction for a character? A conflict? A story? I think what it means, is a picture that depicts the beginning of something.
I might have to give this a shot as well.
...thats part of the dealio...take the word, or phrase, and then draw out what it means to you.~

-without- overlapping themes? Tough....
Well, I think that you CAN overlap themes, after all, if the picture you're inspired to draw has elements of another theme in it, that's ok. But then I don't think you can say, "Ok! Two birds with one stone! Only 98 left to do!"
Really, the only requirement is that you draw one hundred pictures, says I!
Well I had decided to take a shot at this, I would love to practice my drawing and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. My husband, after hearing me gush about how wonderful the artists are here, has been surfing the forums. He decided he would try to draw his main character. He asked if he could borrow my sketchbook and I said yes. After a little while cloistered in his "office" he comes out and says he doesn't like what he did and crumples it up and throws it away. Unknowingly he had drawn on the back of my first picture. I dug it out of the trashcan and hopefully I can salvage it and post it here, after my husband buys me a new scanner *cough*
Aww, that stinks. But it'll be ok, even if crumpled

You should not crumple up and throw away even 'bad' pictures. You cannot learn from your mistakes if you are throwing everything away!!!
Tell him that!
I will! I don't think I've ever thrown a picture away, no matter how terrible. I'm proud of them all in some way. (he's been apologizing profusely since it happened)
This is not my idea. Some of you may have seen it already. I thought it was cool and I would share. Stumbled across it on DA today.

SL's Addendum: To add to the challenge for myself, and also to challenge myself to get better at consistent drawing of a single person, I am attempting to do all 100 featuring one character over and over again. I thought this might be a cool idea for the many of us who have those pet characters we so love and want to get better at drawing. I invite everyone who partakes to share whatever they feel like sharing here. (Plus if it's on the forum, I feel it's kinda official and more people might participate.)
Happy drawing!

PS. If any of the themes have the word "link" behind them, they were actually links from the DA profile I borrowed this from, but do not work here. No need to include links or Link in any of your pictures. Unless you want to.
