Need costume help (Silver age patriotic)

I find the white wings look out of place with the all blue top ... have you tried blue wings with the bottom of them beeing white (or even the other way around)?
Folded gloves and boots could look cool too.
You could even try bald with a small mask if you are looking to make him less Captain America-ish.

I REALLY like your idea Quake. Sharp, balanced and oh so heroic! Great work!!
I agree with Reiko. Quake's idea looks good. Really looks patriotic but far enough away from Capt. America. I like the whole star on the sheild thing. It looks really cool.

I actually like ref pic number 3 seems the closest for the goal. the one thing I would 'change' is just make the boots the "Tights" option to keep it all uniform. the key (imo) when trying to do up a silver aged character is to keep the suit design simple and to definately use bold colors.~

It's okay if you don't like them, I had tons of fun doing them.
If you're not on freedom you can always use Captain Thunderblaze's patriot uniform as an inspiration. I plan to use the fat stripe for the legs when I8 hits live.

Hey all,
I need some help with a silver age-style, patriotic costume for my upcoming winged hero, "Wingspan." Here's what I've got so far.
1, 2, 3
He looks WAY too Captain America-ish right now (probably because of the mask) but I'm having trouble finding an alternative. I'd like to keep the stars-and-stripes feel, though.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
