"So how'd she take it?"
"How did who take what?"
"You know, Ghost Widow. How did she take the whole 'Oh my god you didn't actually make me human!' bit?"
"Heh. She took it better than I expected."
"Whoop her [censored]?"
"For lack of a better term: Yes."
"That's my main lich."
And then all of a sudden.....

"Aw hell not you people again," Toy said, exasperated, as he backpedaled from the Burning family, pulse rifle assembled and ready within seconds. You never knew when a hero would remember that you were a villain and take umbrage at that.
"Wait...weren't we just recharging?" Combat Toy asked confusedly as it looked around.
"I smell another random fight-to-the-death thing," Mini Bot said as it backed up next to Toy.
"You cannot smell," Toy Bot replied as it's repulsor cannons snapped up and scanned the competition.
"Whatever," Mini Bot shot back as the other bots formed up around their boss.
"Burning Brawler," Archlich said with an audible hiss, crossing his arms and ruffling his black cape a bit. "How interesting to find you here. What happened? One of your attempts at spell craft backfire on you?"
"Now's not to test the patience of the nice heroes," Toy said warningly to Archlich. "Not when they have us outnumbered."
Statesman said let there be heroes, and there were heroes.
Lord Recluse said let there be villains, and there were villains.
NCsoft said let there be nothing, and there was nothing.
"Dangit!" Hallucinogen yelled, beams of light flying from his outstretched hands, though it was hard to make any part of him out through the green smoky haze that constantly surrounded him. "I thought we're supposed to have a truce! STOP ATTACKING ME!"
"Oh, I'm sorry," Schizophrenias replied, leering behind his garish green blindfold and barbed wire, and scratching his exposed brain with one hand while the other fired thorns at Hal in response. "But see, I'm robbing this bank. And you're trying to stop me. YOU'RE the one who broke the truce!"
"I can't just let you rob a bank!" Hal groaned, dashing to the side and disappearing completely from view, though his voice still echoed everywhere. "I'm a hero!"
"And I'm a villain," Schizo returned, purple miasma pouring from his hands all over the area, revealing Hal again, clutching his head, and barely able to stay sane, let alone fight. Not that he was sane to begin with if Schizo had come from his head. "And you suck, and COELOCANTHS!"
It was over in another rush of thorns. "Yay! I win!" Schizo cackled as Hal disappeared in a flash from his mediporter.
And then he was blasted by lightning and incinerated in a gout of brilliant bluish-white moonfire. "Oh, not really, Pharaoh," Moonscribe said calmly, ignoring the fact that the money in the bank was now singing exuberantly about how it was the root of all evil and three-eyed rabbits were playing golf with some of the coins. "But it was an excellent try."

"Where the heck am I?" Hal muttered, appearing beside Burning.
"Huh? I'm not supposed to reform yet!" Schizo complained as he appeared next to Archlich. "Wait. . .guess that isn't THAT bad. . ."
"On Second Thought!" he declared, raising his finger dramatically in the air and then pointing it at Hal. "It sure as heck is for HIM!"
Danica crouched low as Toy aimed the rifle at them.
"I didn't do this," Burning protested. "How do I know this wasn't your idea? This place definitely looks your style, Archlich."
Pstorm glanced back at her parents, and the two villains, when Hallucinogen appeared beside her. "Hal?"

"Ohhhhhhhhh." the young woman exclaimed. "How adorable!"
Essex shyly peeked at herself in the mirror, turning around. "Do you really think so, Miss Evangeline?"
"Why, yes I do..." the black-haired paralegal cooed. Legs crossed, she was still in her suit from work, but had dropped by to take Essex shopping. "I still cannot believe you have never gone shopping for clothing before. It is very relaxing."
"Well, most of my friends are boys..." Essex fretted as she eyed the cute little outfit in the mirror - a white fuzzy sweater, a long blue pleated skirt and a matching blue scarf. Bending down to adjust her ruffly socks, she sighed. "And my sisters aren't exactly girly girls. They're more....I don't know...'cool.'"
Eva laughed a little at that. "Well, then, we shall be friends and do girly girl things. Does that sound all right?"
"A-are you sure?" Essex asked, brightening. "You're not too busy with your job, and with being Truefeather?"
"Of course not." Evangeline said, patting Essex's head and tying her hair up with a neat little blue headband. "But now you should get ready."
"For what?" Essex asked, puzzled.
The android vanished in a flash of light.
"Oh dear." Evangeline said, turning her distantly serene gaze to the mirror. "Perhaps I should have let her change back first."

*POP*
Essex stood, bewildered among those gathered.
She took a look around.
Hal, Schizo, the Burning family, Toy, Archlich...
"Not again..." she sighed, resting her head in her hands.

"Essex!" Hal exclaimed, running to her. "Ugh, I know, I'm sorry. . . this ALWAYS happens. Can't they at least leave you out of it?"
"Since 'Hal-chan' is occupied right now, I'LL answer you," Schizo said, leering at Pstorm. "Yup, that's Hal all right! And I'm Schizophrenias, the evil guy who lives in a big purple castle in his head full of aliens. A pleasure to meet you!" He extended a hand.
Pstorm was starting to get a headache just hearing this guys random thoughts. She looked down at his hand, and was sure that if she touched it, it would somehow bite her.
She just waved, and said, "Hi," before walking back towards Hal and Essex where it was 'safe.'

"It is not my 'style' to summon a large number of enemies to one location and then attempt to destroy them all in one fell swoop. That only works in the movie and fairy tales, and not even then half the time," Archlich scoffed, ignoring Schizo and the others for the moment. "I would rather suspect the entity you call Blightlord, since all those assembled here are without a doubt enemies of him in some way."
"Except for Schizophrenias," Toy added.
"Except for the incarnation of insanity, yes," Archlich said, finally deigning to look at the others. "Oh joy. It appears he brought both living hallucinations and the construct to keep the naive one company."
"How forward thinking of him," Toy said dryly. "Now would you stop pissing everyone off? I really don't want to have to shoot people right now."
"Very well," Archlich conceeded. "After all, we shall probably have to work with one another to defeat him. Again."
Statesman said let there be heroes, and there were heroes.
Lord Recluse said let there be villains, and there were villains.
NCsoft said let there be nothing, and there was nothing.
"Nice to see your brain didn't rot with the rest of you," Danica muttered.
"If Blightlord did this, I think we'd be locked in a cell filling with poison gas right now. Letting us get together and make plans isn't exactly his style," said Burning.
There was a flash, and a man in a brown duster hat and trenchcoat appeared. He dusted himself off, and glanced at the gathering. "Well, well, well. Who do we have here?" said The Uniter.
A few more flashed, and several men appeared around him, the thugs that seemed to follow him everywhere.

"Nice to see you too, sir." Essex said to Archlich with a little sigh and a bob of her head.
Turning to Hallucinogen and Pstorm, she relaxed a little with a smile. "Hi Hal-chan. Hi miss Rachel. How are you two? ....Ah...and..."
Standing on her tiptoes, she waved over at the rest of the 'grownups.'
"Good afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Brawler, Sir Toy, Sir Schizophrenias."
She didn't know the one called 'The Uniter', so she just bobbed her head to him as well.

"What the hell?" Darkstorm Spoke. "How did I get here?" He asked. He sat up from the stone he awoke on. He hopped down and let out a sigh. He looked around to see who all was their, only two people he knew. Essex and Pstorm. The others were all strange, a mass of insanity, two fire people, and a robot.
What kind of night mare had he awoke in? "So anyway, who are all you people, answers in the form of english or something similar." He requested and then walked over to Essex
"Essie!" he hugged her, and then looked at Pstorm, without a word he turned around and searched his pocket.
A sound of thunder.
A cloud of fire.
And there went another really expensive machine!
"I freaking hate Mondays!" Acid roared, rolling across the the floor and blasting the armorsuited figure back with a GP shell, splitting yet another worktable in the fiery inferno the lab floor had become.
He grinned viciously for a moment, and then a plasma beam came from the wreckage, smashing into his shield and sending him against the transparent exterior wall. Thick sheets of water cascaded down the outside from the raging thunderstorm, and a bolt of lightning flashed yet again.
Well, at least he still reacted fast. That was good, he supposed, looking at his tingling hand. The blast had come mighty close before he'd thrown up the barrier.
"Can't say the same..." the sliver-armored figure stepped from the flames, aiming its arm cannon at him.
"Because today's the day..." a second one joined the sentence, this one in a matallic blue suit. They finished together, "We take you down!"
Acid snorted. These bounty hunters were getting really numerous these days. Had the price on his head increased again?
I really should watch the news more.
"Terribly sorry to disappoint you, ladies..." he grined toothily, standing back up, and saw his reflection in a randomly fallen mirrored piece of metal.
Damn, he'd really taken a beating today. His jacket was in tatters - again...how did that always go first? It had pockets. He needed pockets! - and the rest of him was worse for wear as well, including several charred spots in his hide and quite a few bloody cuts.
Ace, we're clear. Get out of there!
Don't have to tell me twice. Meet you at the rendevouz point.
Got it. Mnemonyev out.
The hunters were suddenly bowled over by a wave of force, and then Acid launched a GP shell into the ceiling above them, burying the two in an avalanche of metal and dust. He quickly turned around and blasted another shell into the transparent exerior wall, shattering the material into a million pieces. Wind and rain howled into the building, and thunder cracked again as a lightning bolt streaked across the dark sky.
With a terrifying grin, Acid took a moment to look upon the lights of the city below, sretching out in all directions. The 'law enforcement' had gathered a veritable army below. Skimming the crowd, he locked his sights onto the Glider ascending the wall to the hole he'd made.
"Well, that's all the time I've for you two." Acid laughed, stepping onto the nose of the Glider, the vehicle dipping a bit as it compensated for the increased weight, "And at the risk of sounding cliché, this is the day you will always remember as the day you almost caught Acid Zero."
The Glider's cockpit opened.
"You're not going anywhere!!!"
Acid was blinded by the sudden ascension of a ship at least five times the size of his Glider, the spacecraft training its spotlights directly on him.
"No fair." Acid whined, already crouching to leap back.
A second later, the craft blew the Glider out from under him with a ferocious impulse volley, just barely missing its prey as Acid leaped back into the building and ran for it.
The ship continued firing, taking aim with dual EMGs, the transparent wall shattering piece by piece as its sensors followed Acid through the building.
"You are extremely hateful people!" Acid yelled into the lab as he crossed into it again, the fire still following him, tearing apart whatever got in its way - including the building supports. Still, Acid managed to hastily grab a few things off some tables.
"I don't care!" one of the hunters returned, freeing herself from the rubble, commanding the ship to stop by keying in a few orders on her arm cannon. Acid stopped as well, leaping behind cover again, and rapidly assembled th pieces he had gathered.
"We're taking you down here and now!"
"Actually," Acid countered, sending her to the floor again with a force bolt, "all that's coming down is the building."
He laughed almost psychotically as he aimed the pistol-like device he'd constrcued int the air and squeezed the trigger. A swirling vortex of otherwordly energies appeared in the air, tearing space and time asunder and shaking the entire structure. The portal was primitive, and used a lot of energy, but it would do.
"Later." was Acid's only farewell as he threw away the now useless device, its energy spent, and leaped into the gateway.
It was keyed to Terra, specifically Portal Corporation Section Alpha...
--------------------
Needless to say, Acid was quite surprised when he didn't arrive there, but here instead.
His eyes narrowed as he looked about in silence. Returning his weapon to its holster, he brouht up a hologram from his watch and pressed a few nonmaterial buttons. Whatever result the device spit out seemed to satisfy him, as he closed his eyes and shut down the projection again.

Pstorm looked at Darkstorm and sighed. If he started to hit on her again, there'll be lightning this time.
Burning looked up as Acid appeared. "Welcome to the party," he said grimly. "If Blightlord's really the one who organized this, we should probably start trying to find him. C'mon."
Burning began walking towards on of the many doors in the large hall, Danica and Pstorm following close behind.

With the sound of a winding down gear, the Tesla Duke fell over.
"That's how it's done!" The silver and blue armored teenaged girl shouted at the fallen construct, giving it a solid kick for good measure.
Arc Jump E-3-B, scoffed at the piles of Clockwork around her, her targeting algorythems already searching for more of the psudo-robots to pummel. A small flag in her system reminded her that it had been 30 hours since her last system down time. With a huff, AJ dismissed the notice again and shot for another cluster.
Rounding a shattered building, she came faceplate to knee with the Babbage. A quick scan showed her alone with the monstorcity. Common sense would have been to fall back, assemble a team and return. However, AJ's vendetta against all clocks overclocked her aggression. With a growl, the Reploid ran toward it.
A storm of lightning surrounded her as she felt a teleport take place. Emerging at full speed, she careened off a a brightly colored, metallic form, backfliping to try and regain her bearings.
"Oh... it's you." She told Toy Dispenser.

It was amusing to watch the Circle mages scramble as their 'enslaved' behemoth demon ran rampant over them. All the while under her expert mental guidance. Cortianna had a half smile as she leaned against a tree in the cluster of islands the Circle had set up shop at in Nerva.
It was a simple assignment, made all the more agreeible because it was well away from what passed as civilization on the Rouge Isles and the constant chatter of mental noise generated by the fools within.
"Intruder!" A woman's voice cried as a succubus demon charged her from behind, the she-devil's own mental shields preventing Cortianna from sensing her.
What followed was a dual of fire and minds. Unfortunatly, the draw of her concentration allowed her control of the Behemoth to wan and the beast to break free of it. Roaring in anger, it turned to the 17 year old and charged, the remaining members of the patrol following. Seeing her position become unacceptible, Cort triggered her emergency teleport to the Infiltrator's base.
She knew what had happened the moment she materilized, gleening the information from the men, women and other such beings in the room. Setting her trenchcoat closed, Cortianna looked over at PStrom with a faint smile the boardered on a leer.
"Fancy meeting you here Rachel."

"Damnit, its missing," Darkstorm turned around to see Pstorm looking at him. He decided no not say anything to her, instead he simply continued his statement. "my book, on Redemedial Summoning is gone!" The book he spoke of was muddled beyond belief thanks to there being no coherent organization whatsoever. If by chance or skill, he could unriddle the book, he would find that it is reasonably useful. After some breid reading, it is apparent that the contents have moments of intriguing originality. "Its not really a book, its just some papers shuffled together with some leather bindings on it."
He knew what happend to the book, it got stolen by someone who wanted to get back at him for something, but they had to know him pretty well though, that book belonged to his grand-father, and met alot to him. He looked at Pstorm again, he sighed and looked away to look at the sky. The sky was the only place he felt at home, ever.
Pstorm stopped, hearing the familiar voice. She turned to around and said, "Oh, hello Cort." She still wasn't sure why the other girl had followed her so much on that other planet. Blightlord's undead had taken her out of the 'game' pretty quickly.

". . .You can keep AWAY from her," Hal said, glaring at Darkstorm as he let go of Essex, his hands glowing and eyes flaming red.
"Yeah, loser," Schizo said, thorns sprouting on his body. "She's MINE."
". . .Wait. . . since when did she become an inanimate object that anyone OWNED?" Hal yelled at Schizo.
"We have a right to her!" Schizo yelled back.
"I'm glad you're letting me in on this! And no we don't! I can't believe she puts up with us, honestly, the way we. . ."
"Argue over her in front of everyone?" Schizo cackled, grinning.
". . .Yeah. . . pretty much sums it up. . ." Hal muttered, face now flushed, looking nervously over at Essex. "Oh, and, uh, AJ, Acid, Cortianna, whoever you are, hi," he added, ignoring them.

Acid's eyes opened again. His hand stopped. So then this wasn't another scheme to 'bring you to justice' after all?
"Blightlord..." he mumbled, scratching his head, "Blightlord...was that the guy with the skeleton horse and the...no, I'm thinking of Lord Pestilence...Blightlord...alright, I got nothing."
Acid winced as the arguments started. He rolled his eyes, staring at the stone ceiling for a moment with a 'why me?' expression.
"Yeah, sure." he grumbled, leaning against the wall, "Hi..."

Essex blinked as AD hugged her, and smiled a little.
"Ah, hello, sir Darkstorm." she said, her voice a little muffled with the hug. When Hal and Schizo started arguing, she sighed, and trotted over between the two of them, putting her hands out to the sides in a placating gesture.
"You guys...." she protested. "This really isn't the time for this. Shouldn't we be worrying about why we're all here and what's going to happen?"
She gave a cute glare to both Hallucinogen and Schizophrenias - one that most people would know not to have any hard feelings associated with it. Essex crossed her arms.
"I'm telling you, you two had better get along for this thing!" she fake-fumed. "Or I'll get mad!"
Just then, Acid popped in, and Essex glanced over her shoulder, brightening.
"Ah, sir Acid!" she chimed, her train of thought effectively derailed. "Good to see you!"

". . . You do realize we were trying to kill each other a second ago?" Hal sighed, grinning at Essex. "We're hopeless."
"Bah!" Schizo said, turning his back to them both. "Sheesh. Rob ONE bank and suddenly you've 'broken the truce'. Old Hal-chan here is quite a slave driver!"
". . .Don't CALL me that!" Hal growled. "And it was your third in one DAY!"
"Well, EXCUSE ME if I'm out of missions and have to make do with newspapers," Schizo muttered darkly.
"Wrap it up, people," Toy said as he twirled his finger in the air, his bots forming up around him. "Let's just follow the people that might know what the hell is going on and get this over with. I've got a job at eight and I don't want to be late for it."

"You /have/ a job? At 8? Good look getting there." He muttered to himself, everyone ignoreing his complaints about the book. He sighed and wonderd if he was going insane. He problaly was, anyone would after reading that many magical times, the ones he never quite mastered were Tomes of Necromancy.
He walked with a limp twards Pstorm. 'Look...I know you dont have any inrest in me whatsoever. I understand, no one really does, I'm sorry for hitting on you. I'm sorry for even talking to you this way, I just dont want the others to know 'bout dis.' He projected into Pstorms mind. He caught up with her and walked aside her and two others who apeard to be releated to her.
". . .Uh. . ." Hal muttered as he followed the others, though Darkstorm could somehow hear him perfectly. "You know, I have no idea who you are, but I can sense emotions. And you're feeling unhappy and left out. So look. I'm Hallucinogen, okay? Just. . . keep your hands off Essex and we'll get along fine."
"Oh REALLY," Schizo said, leering at Darkstorm now as he floated along. "What's wrong with being miserable? It's the way of the world! Agony makes the world go round! Everyone hates you, just kick the bucket already so we can be--"
". . .SCHIZO," Hal muttered through clenched teeth.
"Aw, you never let me do ANYTHING," Schizo pouted, contenting himself with floating in front of Toy and grinning so hard his grin seemed to extend off his face.

"So your name is Schizo?" He asked Schizo. He turned to face both of them. "Names Darkstorm. I have a voice in my head, named Hazthri. Hazthri say hello." There was a long pause then a puff of smoke appeared above the three.
The puff of smoke spoke with a raspy tone. "Mr. Darkie here is leftout. I agree Schizo, Your logic is great, also you've got a great mind on you. Names Hazthri."
"Hazthri, go away. Now."
"No, I'm not going away." Hazthri floated next to Schizo.
"Fine, you can stay. Dont cause any trouble." He walked next to Hallucinogen. "So, why stay off Essie?" He asked.
Pstorm cast a confused glance at Darkstorm as he sent her the message.
Burning opened the door, and stepped back in surprise as a wad of goo splattered over them all, no matter what they attempted to avoid it.
"If this is another virus that leaves us twenty-four hours to live, I'm gonna be pissed," said Burning as he tried to wipe some of it off.
The Uniter remained in the back of the group, grimacing he cleared some of the stuff from his eyes, and pulled out a scanner. He spent a few moments waving it in front of himself before he was satisfied. "It's not poisonous. Not sure what it's for, but it isn't going to kill anyone."
Burning looked at the solid brick wall behind the door, and even pressed a hand to the stone to make sure it wasn't an illusion, before shutting the door and moving on.

"Begin," echoed a voice across the large stone cavern.
Liches raised hands high, and began speaking the words of a spell. A series of short barks, and wails. The walls shook as their chanting grew faster and louder. An orb of energy hung in their circle, steadily growing larger.
Finally, it exploded. The Liches were consumed in the blast.
A man stepped down from a large throne, and grasped the orb in his hand. "Let the games begin."
------------------------
Burning Brawler quickly ducked under Jurassik's arm as it swung for his head, firing a blast up at it's face before rolling away to the edge of the cave wall.
Danica ran up along the arm, at delivered a strong kick to its head that cracked the stone.
"Are you alright?" she called back down to her husband, quickly leaping off to avoid being smashed by the car Jurassik carried.
"Yeah! Pstorm, soak it!"
Rachel nodded, raising both hands to the sky. A large rain cloud formed, soon drenching the rock monster. It howled in annoyance, but its howls soon turned to cries of pain as a lightning bolt raced down.
The Obsidian Arrow quickly spun around the creature, dropping several small orbs. He ran up onto a ledge, and shouted, "Stand back!" before pressing a button on his wrist.
The orbs detonated, and Jurassik came tumbling to the ground.
The monster howled as it sat, its legs fully destroyed. It flailed at Danica with the large car it used as a club. It smacked into her, and sent her flying into a wall.
Burning winced and rushed over to help her, not noticing the rocks shaking as they began to piece themselves together.
Pstorm quickly swung her arms out wide, sending a whirlwind at the stones. They were caught up and launched into the ceiling, smashing into dust.
Jurassik howled and attempted to smash her flat, but was stopped as a grenade-tipped arrow slammed into its face.
The headless rock monster stopped, and fell to the ground.
Danica shook her head as she chewed the green 'gum' Burning had given her.
The two stood and looked at the broken mound of rocks. "Task Force complete, guys," said Burning with a grin.
Pstorm looked at the shiny badge that appeared in her hand, an equally large grin appearing as she slid it into her pouch.
Arrow sped down to them, holding a large rock. "Souveneir," he explained, pocketing it.
"Alright, let's head out. Numina will want to know how we did," said Burning, pressing a button on his medi-porter. The others nodded, and did the same.
Arrow appeared outside the cave, and looked around. "Burning? Danica? ... Anyone?"
"DEVOUR HIM!" shouted several creatures as they charged.
"God damnit, not again!"
---------------------
Burning, Pstorm, and Danica looked around. They were inside a large stone hall that looked straight from a medeival fairy tale.
Or maybe Dracula.
They looked about, readying for a fight, when several flashed appeared around them.
The others were arriving.
