Any suggestions for Empathy/Electric Defender
I'm got a 50 emp/elec and my build is quite similar, or has been, rather. I ended up ditching the invis sets for health set...invis was great for soloing, but now at 50...I laugh in the face of debt, so it doesn't matter much.
However, I would strongly suggest Zapp in place of Short Circuit. I found Short Circuit tended to get me closer to the action than my squishiness cared for. Plus, Zapp has some vicious end drain/damage and kicks some seriously booty in terms of ranged attack (I can easily pull/snipe with this baby!).
I also have Voltic Sentinal, and you will be VERY glad to have it after you fire off TB. if you fire off VS before TB, you have something at least popping damage for you while you recover. VS can be problematic because it can draw aggro when you aren't prepared for it, but I've found it's benefits far outweigh the negatives..
I never found Short Circuit to be worth my time. Also, I am a BIG fan of Tesla Cage, and might suggest you pop that in over AB. It can drain end and hold and keep you from trying to fight more than a defender's attacking abilities can allow. It's a personal preference thing at 50, but I can tell ya, with health and stamina and hasten slotted...never felt like AB gave me enough benefit to override tesla cage being absent.
And Thunderous Blast is a gift from the gods! Three slot it for end mod, and they are weak as kittens.
A couple of quick suggestions here:
Clear Mind comes at a fairly low endurance cost, so you may want to save those slots for other powers
Fort has roughly the twice the endurance cost as CM, but can be used less often. Peronally I go 2-2-2 on recharge/def/tohit, but I can't say thats the best way to do it either.
You may want to enter Absorb Pain in there somewhere. Its a dangerous power to use, but its effects can save a team from a certain wipe.
Teleport as a travel power is popular with Emps, but I still think you can't go wrong w/ the mez/kb/immob protection that the Leaping pool offers. I think the CoT is reason enough to go this route.
I'll keep quiet about Regen Aura since I got blasted the last time I said it wasn't all that great of a power.
Be careful with Thunder Strike. I've only had this on a blaster before, but the long animation caused a lot of debt for me. Take a second look at Elec Fence. A single target immob might not be the "epic" power that you're looking for, but slotting it with 3/ end mods makes for a great and fun way to suck the life out of a foe from a distance.
You look to have a good build here, and my comments are more of a representation of play style rather than right and wrong.
After reading some of the guides on Empathy Defenders I decided to build one. I chose electric as my secondary because I love my lvl40 Elec/Elec Blaster G-Tec. The END drain of that set is so extraordinary the only thing it lacks for fast soloing is, "I have to rely on heals from a defender since I am always in Melee for the END drain to work." I primarily team about 95% of the time.
So I thought why not create a Empath/Elect defender and solve that problem. Keep in my mind I still plan on teaming but I like the idea I can solo if I need to.
My Empath/elect defender is currently lvl17. I started playing him 3 nights ago. I have gotten him to lvl17 strictly teaming, I have not visited a contact as of yet.
