Sorry, every time I see that ear type, I think of those stupid Night Elves.
Perhaps he's a demon that was summoned by an inexperienced sorceror. He killed the sorceror and went to the Rogue Isles to wreak havoc on the world.

That is funny, I played WoW for about a year on/off...and I burned out and figured that I truly hate the way the game is. Anyways 
I picked those ears because they are really the only thing that gives his head a very intersting dynamic. Most of the hair pieces look out of place...and the other accessories give him this look like he has no neck.
I've got another one for you.
A Hellion Blood Brother walks down the street, kicking aside the trash as he went.
He sees a villain easily take down the RIP guard that he had run from earlier, and feels a sense of intense envy.
He noticed a shimmering object on the ground, and bends down to pick it up.
When he does, he is painfully transformed into his current state, the demon sensing his envy and using it to form a pact.
The demon is free to roam the world, sharing the Blood Brothers body, and the Hellion gets the powers he so desired.

I look at this guy and I keep seeing Marcus from underworld evolution... I don't know, maybe he's a vampire lord that was awoken in the modern age to a world strangely dissimilar to the one he was once a ruler over.
He could be weakened from a thousand year slumber and wonders how on earth humans have become so rampant.
Well there's my thought.

hmm how about this...before the CoT got into bed with the behemoths centuries ago they pulled rekken from some hellish dimension, where he was imprisoned by the Mages of the Hordon, Rekken, was by far the single biggest threat to thier dimension so he was sent to the hellish one. then u could go with the slumber idea as well...just my brain in overdrive thinking, i saw ur screenshots and i really liked the look...
I have a lvl 30 super strength/invulnerability brute named Rekken. He is of "magic" origin. I wanted to get some ideas thrown out to me that I could use to create an origin for Rekken. He looks like some sort of demon-elf type guy. Anyways, I will let you guys at it; here is a compilation of pictures in one screen shot:
