This is nuts man. I mean, this isn't fan art. This isn't a drawing. This is a full blown art piece. I'm serious! When this is finished, it will be the kind of thing that you put in a really expensive frame and hang on the wall in some art gallery!
[/ QUOTE ]
No, his REAL full-blown art pieces ARE usually framed and hung on the wall in a gallery
Or WERE until he stopped having time to do oils Graver, you should really try and post a piccy of one some time
Now hurry up and finish TA!!! *cracks whip* I wanna see what you do with Berry!!!!
Well, I figure I'm far enough along to call for another update. Just a few more nights of work and it will be done And keep yer paints on there, Hems... it's almost your turn.
Either way, here's the progress so far...
Man that's awesome. I love your style and I love your watercolors (that's your medium right?). I look forward to seeing the next update/work by you.

I love this piece.
Your knowledge of Futhark (Elder Norse Runes) is amazing Graver. Nice touch on TA's piece. Love your pencils and your watercolors are divine.
Wunjo - perfection
Thurisaz - giant, Thors rune
Isa - challenge, frustration
Kenaz - torch, light
The last one I can't make out clearly. Which of these is it?
Nauthiz - fire, need
or
Gebo - gift, balance
Very nice hidden reference to Thor in the base of the Nemesis Staff Graver.
Journey into Mystery (#83) is the first appearance of the Marvel Comics Thor. If it wasn't intentional, then excuse my insane ramblings...
Raido - journey
Perthro - mystery, the hidden
Keep up the great work.
Damn Graver this piece is turning out really nice!!
I'm trying to see writing on the staf but not having any success.

Keep your art faar away from me Graver. I'd be afraid of drooling over them and washing out the color.
This is progressing along so well. I loved your previous pictures (though I can't find the one of Fallen Skye), and this does not dissapoint (even though it's not done yet)! Marvelous!

I have a small notepad next to my drawing table that I scribble a number of figures on before every project. They're usually just a couple circles and a few swishy lines, but it's a complete language to me.
So when I looked at that first rough sketch, I immediately saw TA kneeling atop a building (seen from the corner, camera looking upwards), one hand down as he gripped the bricks, the other supporting his weight in a tight grip on the staff. I can see what I thought were bats in the back (but later described at angels), a full moon, and even the shape of his legs.
Is any of that correct, or just my mad impression of your mad rough sketch? =)
[/ QUOTE ]
That's the exact same thing I saw. Glad to know that even being only marginally artistic, in the drawing sense, lets me see what some of the truly amazing artists see.
"I see your words..." ~The most menacing thing a forumite could say
Almost There...
And, SweetThang, I really like the way you think. Unfortunately, on the staff, that wasn't a hidden reference to Thor's first appearance in marvel comics (I honestly know very little about the marvel thor )... but I really wish it was now. On the staff, the rune below Raido is Eihwas... the linking of the realms of gods and man... and looking back at it, I see now that I goofed a bit and penciled the rune in facing the wrong direction *bad me!* That will be fixed
As for the other rune in question, it is Naudhiz, strength from need and acknowledgment of one's own fate (or being tied to fate). Gebo would have worked in it's roles as unifier of individuals (Thor and some guy who becomes his assassin) but the sexual overtones of such a unification I figured might not be all that appreciated
Very cool Graver! My imagination was working overtime with the Journey Into Mystery reference.
I think this is your best work yet. It's so full of depth and mood. I'm envious of TA now! hehe

lmao you do have a heart!! ty!
Graver this piece is just stunning already and you say your not done yet?
Will it be a larger picture in the end bro?
I can't even find the words for it though man, I agree that this is your best one yet!

Seriously - very impressive work, man. (Oh, I so can't wait till you get started on Imp!)
And thanks for not going all Brokeback Thormountain on us.
@TheImperial
Your style is awesome. I love the look.
Wow, I'm glad you guys've thought so much of a piece that wasn't near finished. But fear not, for your sleepless nights of tossing and turning, of wondering and speculation about what the finished piece would look like are over! (that was just probably me ). Either way, here's the finished...
Thors Assassin
It took me a bit longer then I had thought to finish up, but they always do and I think I'm satisfied with the results on this one... just hope the big guy digs it as well.
Up next is HemilyTiger followed by Mysticfire, thanks for being patient with me, guys
You, are, good
