PastaTomatoes Guide to Energy Melee/Kinetic Blaster*
Introduction

This guide was written in order to inform the players of CoX the power of the Energy Melee/ Kinetics blaster. Through this guide I will introduce you to the powers, which ones are worth learning, how to slot them as well as how to use them. Through this guide you will become an effective solo player, yet will also be wanted on all the teams.

Powers Overview

Energy Melee
Energy Melee is a very powerful set. The main type of damage it deals is Energy, as well as some Smashing. The energy component is what allows you to use it up to and past smashing resistant foes.

Unfortunately when compared to other blaster primaries it might seem lacking. It lacks the range and area of effect powers given to you by power sets like Fire Blast, and Ice Blast, and Electric Blast and Energy Blast(pretty bland names don't you think? This Blast That Blast, aren't you glad you picked something original like Energy Melee?) We also lack the powerful combination of BU(Banana Union)+AIM(AOL(America On Line) Instant Messenger.) You make up for this lack range and buffs by having much more powerful and deadly single target attacks, by picking kinetics you get more then any other blaster(except for the almost as powerful defendublaster) out of BU and/or AIM.

Kinetics
Kinetics is a very powerful support set, but unlike lame sets like empathy or sonics or force fields, the majority of it's powers work on you. This means that those skill points will not go to waste when you are not on a team. Because you picked kinetics we will be forgoing a travel power. Kinetics allows you to get super speed with the mere application of 2 siphon speeds. Now, onto the primary.


Energy Melee

Barrage
With this attack you preform a couple of punchs which deal 1.4 Smashing and .5 Energy BI. Its an okay attack for the early levels.

Bone Smasher
This is one of the attacks /Nrg blappers are most known for, they get it at level 10, we get it at level 1. Does 1.6667 Energy and 5.555 Smashing BI a great attack and boss killer, this will be a staple of our attacks.

Build Up
This skill provides 100% damage boost a 62.5% ACC(Accelerated Certainty of Ctriking.) This is a great skill, but not needed as we will have better, siphon power and fulcrum shift.

Energy Punch
This is a quick simple fast attack, it will be a staple of our attack chain. Does 2.6667 Energy + 2.7778 Smashing BI.

Energy Transfer
This attack does a ridiculous amount of damage 4.3333 Smashing + 8.3333 Energy BI, but it also damages you and you can kill yourself with it(Note: it can't damage me which is why I refrain from using Us/We.) Always que up tranfusion after this.

Stun
This attack does no(aka 0.4167 Smashing + 0.2778 Energy BI) damage, but it will stun your enemies. Useful if we are alone and fighting 3 or more bosses(we should kill the other 2 in a couple seconds.)

Taunt
[censored] we are blasters why would the Devs even give to us? Ignore it, there is no 7th power(but remeber if it does not exist you can bend it, but don't even try to bend it, it doesn't exist.) Because it does not exist we have bent it into:

Telekinesis

The above guide makes much more sense and is more detailed then I could explain it. Note: for us blasters it is capped at 50 not 5.

Total Focus
This attack is uber. It does a great amount of damage, will knock our enemy down and disorient them. Does 2.7777 Smashing + 7.1111 Energy BI.

Thunder Strike
While this attack may seem to be a Electricity attack it is not. It is an energy attack and it owns, hence it is under Energy Melee. It does 7.1111 Energy BI. Slightly lower then Total Focus, but it also has AoE(Age of Empires) damage.

Now Onto

Kinetics

Transfusion
This is a enemy targeted player centric heal. It is the best area of effect heal in the game. It will make us very useful as a healer and will be used as a follow up for Energy Transfer.

Siphon Power
This skill drains 20% of the damage from the target enemy, and gives that 20% to you. Very useful, we will use it in place of BU since it lasts longer and recharges faster.

Repel
This skill is amazing. It is so fun. It tosses away enemies who are near you into the air and then they fall to the ground, take 0.0000 energy damage and if your lucky X.WYZ fall damage. If you are ever on a team and pissed off at your teammates simply run into groups of mobs(preferably near your tank) and watch the enemies rocket away and aggro more enemies.

Siphon Speed
The travel power that is not a travel power. The hasten that is not hasten. This skill increases your recharge rate (by 20%) and move speed. Two applications will give you super speed. This is our travel power before we get Inertial Reduction

Increase Density
It appears being stuped will help you in this game is good, or so it says "Increases an ally's density, freeing him from any Disorient, Immobilization, or Hold effects and leaving him resistant to such effects for a while. Increase Density also protects the target from Knockback, as well as Smashing and Energy damage. However, because the target grows more dense, his movement speed is reduced. You can not use this power on yourself."

It is a useful power and your teammates will like it.

Speed Boost
This skill is attention deficit disorder on crack. Increases move speed by a OMG look a bug lot and also god water is good increases i like shields recharge rate. Your team hi positron mates will like you for it. Make sure we use it on those annoying controllers who are running around near a large group of mobs, this way the controller will go flying into the mobs and die.

Inertial Reduction
The travel power that is almost a travel power. PBAoE pseudo super jump. Useful for those Super Speeders and other people who did not take a travel power and are not PB/WS, Kinetics or BotBS.

Transference
Your endurance problems are gone for ever. Targets an enemy, drains end and stops end regeneration as well as giving us endurance and nearby allies endurance.

Fulcrum Shift
This is the skill that allows us to get by AIM+BU, for blasters there is no cap for this besides the 500% damage cap. Targets a group of enemies, drains their damage, gives you and your allies a massive damage boost.

Well, that sums ups the powers.

Tactics
Your attack chain late game should be Siphon Speed>Fulcrum Shift>Thunder Strike>Total Focus>Bone Smasher>Energy Punch>Energy Transfer>Transfusion. Everything you then be dead. If not repeat. After the second volly if their are enemies still alive run because you will be dead soon.

In pvp stand still and wait for the silly stalker to come to you. When you see your health drop and big red numbers and an enemy hit Total Focus then Stun>hasten>Thunder Strike>Bone Smasher> Energy Punch>Transfusion. He will die.
