You have your healing flames at 48% slotted with 3 so's? That percentage is way off! At lvl 25 and 3 white so's, I think I have like 780 hp and only heal for like 268 with healing flames. That is closer to 35%. This guide kind of reminds me on how I tried to build a tank into a damage dealer when I first started playing coh. I've found it better to play to an archetype's strengths. If you want to be a wall, build a tank. If you want to be a melee class who deals massive melee damage, be a scrapper, brute, or stalker.

actually my /em blaster out melee damages scrapper brute and stalker classes all of which I play and play with in rikti zone. That's not even counting all the HIGH end ranged damage.

I go with Fly pool aswell but i dont grab hover, i grab Air superiority for keeping enemies on their backs. My build isnt anything special ive just been winging it so far, but with air superiority i can solo elite bosses aslong as they dont have the knockback protection which ive only seen once against a named vampyre in the fifth column ouroburos TF.
And i "slightly" agree with grey fire/fire isnt a set to go with if u want to be a powerhouse, i went with it just for fun cause i like fire type powers but i fought an ene/invul hero in the pocket D arena (he was exemped down to my lvl) the other day and i could barely hurt him just as i started to get some dmg he was able to heal it. the only thing that allowed me to stall my death long enough to make it seem like a decent fight was PA's energy resistance and healing flames lol

Are there gonna be any updates to this build since Issue 12 was released? Or perhaps after Issue 13 which is coming up?

I have a bit of experience with the FM/FA with a 37 F/F tank and now a 34 F/F Brute

Someone mentioned buildup/embrace I've never taken them and do quite well-this is so far only with SO's. There is just so much to get early on and in your 30's when you start fighting more difficult mobs.

Having said that you can pick them up in your late 30's early 40's when you basically run out of powers to choose but leveling up I feel(felt) no need for them.

I have the fighting pool, don't have weave yet (that’s @ 35 I guess)

Leveling up you want to get your shields ASAP!

Also pick up healing flame and add recharges in it ASAP as well.
They made a change to it and the toxic damage helps in those sewer/lower level Vahizok(sp) missions. The base recharge is 40 seconds.

You can forgo Hasten until your 20's and/or 24th Tf respec because at lower levels it’s not up often enough to warrant the power. Add to the fact that you'll level so quickly you can pick it up later once you have access to SO's.

edit I just realize I don't have Hasten on my Brute(now lvl 37). I do have recharges in each attack to have them up faster. Since I dont have anything else to pick up now I may pick up hasten 'cause Slow powers are the bane of Fire melee fo sho'!.
I just haven't seen a reason to have it now that I remember what powers I picked:

Fire melee-

Fire sword
cremate
incinerate
FSC
Greater Fire Sword

Firey Aura-

FS
PS
Healing flames
Consume

Leaping-

CJ
SJ
Acro

Fighting -

Punch
Tough
Weave

Leveling up pick and choose what ever damage powers you like, some like F.Breath some don't. The great part is respecs come ever new issue and respec TFs are common.

While this guide is a bit outdated still helps out new Brutes.

I'd put perhaps 1 damage SO into each attack, but I agree with the OP. IF you're a good Brute that knows how to keep your Fury bar at or near the top they are over kill. Primarily you want to put 2 ACC's, recharge, Endmod in each attack. Then later if you have the slots, you can add damage SO.

Because we're all about hitting our targets in order to gain Fury, also a missed attack is wasted endurance.

again

You should put at least one Endmod in each attack since we're all about SMASH!™

For a /Fire scrapper/Tank/Brute the fighting pool is necessary period, no ans ifs or buts...if you don't have it in your 30's you'll be blowing through inspirations like that hot mistress blows through your $$$. And frankly a liability to groups that will need to keep squishies up and by the 30's expect you to be able to handle you're self well enough not to have to have a healer on you 24/7 saving your bacon.

I'm not a l33t player, nor the best but I feel I have a fairly good grasp of my toons that I play. I feel like I have a good idea on F/F Tanks/Brutes as a whole.
