This Is my first players guide so please have patience cause I might leave something important out so just shoot me a question and I will try to help out as much as possible.

I will put the level then power and how I slotted each power.

So here goes:

1. Barrage: 1 DMG, 2 ACC
1. Resist Physical Damage: 2 DMG Resistance
2. Bone Smasher: 1 DMG, 2 ACC, 2 Reduce End
4. Temp Invulnerability: 3 DMG Resistance, 3 Reduce End
6. Dull Pain: 3 Recharge, 3 Heal
8. Energy Punch: 1 DMG, 2 ACC
10. Whirling Hands: 1 DMG, 2 ACC
12. Combat Jumping: 1 Enhance Jump
14. Super Jump: 1 Enhance Jump
16. Unyielding: 3 DMG Resistance, 3 Reduce End
18. Hurdle: 1 Enhance Jump
20. Health: 1 Heal
22. Stamina: 3 End Modification
24. Total Focus: 1 DMG, 2 ACC, 2 Reduce End
26. Stealth: 1Reduce End
28. Invincibility: 2 Defense Buff, 2 Reduce End, 2 ToHit Buff
30. Hasten: 3 Recharge
32. Energy Transfer: 2 DMG, 2ACC
35. Tough Hide: 2 Defense Buff
38. Unstoppable: 3 DMG Resistance, 3 Recharge

That’s my build up to 40. I didn’t take any of the auto powers (Resist Elements or Resist Energies), but I am thinking about taking at least one of tem after the level cap is raised to 50. Also in Energy Melee I didn’t take Build Up, Taunt, or Stun because at this point I wanted more attacks to keep the Fury Meter up as high as possible. Another thing I did to help on this matter is use Brawl as often as it is up cause even when it misses it raises the Fury Meter.

Once again if you have any questions let me know and I will try to answer them asap.

On that note I hope this helps you out if you are planning this build. I had a whole lot of fun with this Toon and I’m looking forward to getting him to 50 as soon as they raise the level cap.

My brute is lower than yours at 25... I'd make a few little suggestions of my own... instead of taking bone smasher off the bat I'd try for Energy punch, this combined with barrage and brawl give you a nice little 1-2-3 combo that takes an ITTY BITTY amount of end so you get to fight for much much longer. While difference is negegible between the levels we took it I can't envision anything that would require Bonesmasher that early and this energy punch is a much more blue bar friendly attack

take combat jump earlier. that +def does come in handy.

triple slot health... it's actually worth it (heal like 80% or somthing)

drop stealth... your a brute for kerists sakes... why would you want to hide when you can SMASH

and this is personal preference but, with all the fast attacks why not drop hasten and grab somthing else?

on a side note I come from a blaster backround and have NEVER EVER used hasten... (then again... I was never around during the days of perma)

By the catapillars hooka you WILL smile!

Since I enjoy my MA/Inv Scrapper, I decided to delete my EM/EA Brute and roll an EM/Inv and came across this guide. Here is a short output of what I picked, the slots will be obvious and identical to your's unless otherwise stated:

01) --> Energy Punch
01) --> Resist Physical Damage
02) --> Bone Smasher
04) --> Temp Invulnerability
06) --> Build Up
08) --> Dull Pain
10) --> Swift
12) --> Combat Jumping (3 def)
14) --> Super Jump
16) --> Unyielding
18) --> Total Focus
20) --> Health (3 heal)
22) --> Stamina (3 endmod)
24) --> Aid Other
26) --> Aid Self (2 int/3 heal)
28) --> Maneuvers (1 endrdx/3 def)
30) --> Tactics (1 endrdx)
32) --> Energy Transfer
35) --> Tough Hide
38) --> Unstoppable

After playing a few characters with tactics or some kind of +per, I find it hard to play one without any kind of +per so I decided between resist energies and tactics, and having decided to leave out invincibility, maneuvers and combat jumping should be enough to keep my defense in the possitive side (properly slotted, this should reach +10% defense). And personally, I would leave out resist enhancers from unstoppable since when activating it, you are already reaching the cap.

I thought I'd share my EM/INV build that I recently got to level 40. I've only respeced once and have been utterly happy with it. Showing build first, then I'll give an example of how my brute, Mr. Necrophetamine plays...

Basically, Mr. N is a fury builder and is all about accuracy before he gets that fury up. I don't start fights with my heaviest hitting attacks... I have brawl on auto, and work my way up in the chain of attacks from there as fury continues to build. I don't pvp much yet, so I can't tell you how I do there really... but pve, I am wonderful, and an arch-villain slayer, toe-to-toe or otherwise.

This build can be difficult on end. at the mid-levels. I respeced out of barrage, but that power did help with my end at first, and I ended up getting bone smasher after the respec, so I recommend similar behavior. Attacks like Total Focus and Whirling Hands should also be gotten late, but perhaps why should not need further explaining. Finally, with this build, I am maximizing defenses, but at the expense of what I feel to be, the easily-overlooked toggles of resist elements and resist energies. As I'm a Magic-based Brute, I could have probably used these toggles more than a lot of other brutes I see take them, as I'm up against CoT often... but I do exceptionally well against CoT without them, so I don't see why other Brutes would need them either unless you absolutely insist... ::shrugg::
