Travel Woes (Open RP forum)
It was a night like any other. Dark, slightly scary, mostly freaky, and filled with the ides of criminals. Count Dracule loved these kinds of night. He especially loved flying on these nights.
Enjoying the peace of the night (or rather, lack of it), he soon spotted the blimp in Atlas Park. Aside from losing himself in the heat of battle, the blimp was the Counts favorite thing.
Soon the Count is flying along side the blimp, humming a tune as he flew. However, he was not paying attention as the blimp turned. He didn't see it, because two bugs had splattered into his eyes. Because of this, he hit the blimp. Normally that would have been all, but he ended falling back through the air until he was near an intake fan.
Like all fans, it loved his cape and began draggin him in. Soon half the cape was gone, and he was desperately trying to get away. Desperate times call for desperate measures as the saying goes, and this was a desperate situation. He turned his arm upwards towards his face, keeping the other hand on the nearest object he could hold on to.
The cape was completely gone, and his head was inches away from the blades when he let loose a sniper blast of dark energy straight to his face. He woke up in the hospital, lying on one of the beds. The resident doctor looked at him from over the clipboard
"What happened to you?"
the Count merely mumbled his answer, until he remembered his precious cape. the cape was now nothing but a brooch, and bits of cloth
"NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" he shouted "Not the cape! My precious cape. " he soobed over the fallen article
((This just goes to show you young heroes. Never fly to close to any sort of fan, twister, rocket, or anything like that. Especially with a cape on. Could end up with you losing your life, or even worse. Surviving due to the portal corp, but losing your precious cape))
This post introduces one of the staff of the Orthopedic & Chiropractic Unit of the Chiron Medical Center. Feel free to introduce staff of your own or use existing staff.
Chloe FitzSimmons opened the office at the bleery time of 7:30 am. She juggled her coffee, her keys, her purse and the rolled up morning paper to get the door open and hurriedly dumped it all on her desk to punch in the code on the security pad by the door.
Every morning started that way for her. Barely out of bed, mind still groggy, energy at the daily low. She hated mornings.
"You have 24 new messages!" A bright chirpy voice announced as she hit the voice mail button. Chloe groaned. Twenty-Four! in the space of 8 hours? She picked up her pen and began scribbling furiously to keep up with the cheerful voice of some anonymous woman who, if people had an inkling of who she was, would be the first person to ever be lynched by office workers.
When Chloe looked up next, the first patient of the day was being wheeled in by the orderly. The office was connected with the Chiron Medical Center, so the hospital got the first appointments in the long day of the Orthopedic & Chiropractic Care Unit.
"Morning, Chloe," said Bob the orderly, who sounded as grumpy as she felt, thank goodness.
"Morning, Bob. Who've you got?" Chloe peered at the patient in the wheel chair, who looked far more chipper than she felt, and he had the brace wrapped around his leg. Maybe it was the pain meds.
"I'm Dark Reign," the man admitted.
"G'Morning, Dark Reign," Chloe said. "Mind if I ask what happened?"
"I do mind!" Dark Reign declared adamantly. "I mind that some idiot worker left a stupid piece of copper pipe sitting in the middle of an empty lot! What idiot leaves metal laying around in this city? Dont they realize folks'll be speeding through?"
"Tripped, huh?"
As we all know, travel powers can be iffy. As you fly, jump, teleport or speed around, you have to be careful for the least little thing in your path. Tell us your travel story, let us sympathize, let us realize, and let us laugh at your mishaps!
It was a beautiful morning! Blue Nugget took a deep breath and let it out with satisfaction. The smell of coffee waifted from her cup and she peered into the gloomy misty atmosphere of Dark Astoria. Well, it had been a beautiful morning until she had passed through the security gates. Why was Astoria always....well, dark?
She finished the coffee and stepped out into the damp mist. She scanned for Warshayde's thoughts, he had said he'd be near the graveyards. Ah, there he was.
Blue took off, launching herself enthusiastically into the air.
Baam!
She felt something crumple, pain erupted in her throat and spread into her skull. Desperate she fumbled for the teleporting device.
Too late! Any other time she'd be happy. Any other time she'd applaude Portal Corp's little toy.
"You sustained a substantial blow to the larnyx, Blue Nugget." The medic peered at her from over the chart. "What happened? Did you run into some Circle of Thorn guards? Maybe a Totem? The patterns of these bruises are odd. They dont correlate with anything I've ever seen."
Blue groaned. "I crashed into the side of a catwalk."
The medic just about died, laughing.
