Looking to join weekly RP group

Are there any role-playing groups out there that have a scheduled (alt) night playing?

I've played table-top RPGs for a long time, and I miss that scheduled group feel. I'm hoping to find a group (or SG) out there that gets together on a weekly basis for role-playing a set group of characters. However, because this is an MMORPG, I'd like to do some full-immersion role-playing. By that, I mean that everyone is role-playing their character in the game, but only while online. I neither enjoy nor have time for role-plying on forums. Likewise, I don't want to be left out of the loop just because I'm not on some forum. (Missing a week is a different matter.) I just want to hook-up with some people that had a scheduled slot, who maybe just used the forum for the occasional OOC and scheduling purposes.

For me, the RP advantage is obvious. With a scheduled alt night, and a lack of forums RP, I know that what happens when I login is a continuation of what happened when I logged out the previous week. Thus, we can pickup right where we left off. If I miss a week, then my character should be missing that time. If I need to catch-up in character, it gets played out in character.

As for scheduling, a weekly session means that I have a set group of people with who to team. We'd all be around the same level, and can easily make up a little time if we miss a week here or there. Our characters would also get to know each other and have a chance to work out group dynamics in-game. Also, a set group means that I'm not repeating missions with a character.

Oh, I understand and appreciate that RPing on the forum is not required for many RP-SGs. (Sorry if that seemed otherwise.) It's just that with so much happening on the forums, I'd feel left out of many things. Besides, I'm personally not a big fan of RPing forums. (Yes, I've tried it more than once.) Describing a scene or telling a story works well, but discourses either take too long, or require too much time. When more than one person is involved, only a coupe people end up posting back and forth. As for RPing fights on forums, the concept <"I grab Minx." ... "No you don't, I dodge that."> just does nothing for me. (Too much one-ups-manship going on.) I'm certainly not knocking it for others, though.

Also, my character wouldn't be privy to most/any of what is posted on the boards. When playing, I sometimes forget what was supposed to be character knowledge and what was just player knowledge. (Maybe it's just me.) Keeping things in-game only lets me not worry about that. So, no one has to say, "Hey! You weren't there when that happened." or "You could make it to the apartment in time for that conversation."

As for random play time and grouping, the RPing loses something for me when I help yet another person complete the same mission. Beyond the immersion factor, it'd also be nice to run around with a group at a scheduled time. I'd know when I logged in that I'd be grouping for the next 4-6 hours. After all, if I'm solo, then I'm not really role-playing. (I personally consider that to be a group activity.)

Yeah, I understand and respect the full-time RP idea, whether it's all characters or a set character. Some people don't care for TeamSpeak because they feel the person's voice doesn't match the character, or don't like Global chat because it's not the character's name. For me, it's the repeated storylines. I don't mind doing them over and over with different characters, or even a non-RP character, but it just bugs me if I do the same mission when I'm trying to RP.

Of course, I totally understand that not everyone can commit to the same night, or even any night for some. But, with so many people online, I hope to find a few people that could schedule one night out of the week, and were interested in a full-immersion RP style.

Wow. I'm shocked by the lack of response.

Are there any regular groups out there?
Or, anyone that has an RP alt night?

Yeah, I know that there are a lot of groups out there that RP 100% of the time, but I thought that there might be a group with regular meeting times.

I'd love to get into a RP supergroup or find RP-ers myself, but it seems we're on different servers =( (on virtue)
best of luck on your search though!

I would love to join or atleast find an SG that meets maybe weekly and is committed to Role playing. Wondering what servers accomodate this, know pinnacle has a rep. E-mail me if you got any input. javascript:void(0)

I'm on pacific time. I usually get on around 2000 hours and have been known to usher in the new day. I'm a virtue ite. I typically don't play wednesdays. I'm open to aiding newbies who are willing to start an alt in my SG by porting them around, exemping and healing during missions, etc.

Um... I like long, moonlit walks on the beach. I'm a little heavy but I'm trying to lose the weight. I have my own house, well technically my mom still owns it but I pay for it and I...

Oh, sorry, I kinda got carried away there. Sometimes I forget what I'm writing these things for.

So, if you're into kinky se-WHAHOW! BACK UP! I mean, if you'd like to do some gaming on a weeknight, except wednesday where I'm watching Over There intently to see if my friend is going to get a guest shot on it (I hear he was being considered for consultant and might play a bit part* BTW it's going to be the best show ever you should force all your friends to watch it /shameless plug)... where was I? Oh yeah, any night but wednesday.

Call me!
