Why do we maintain a police force?
Someone has to fight the evil donuts!
The other day I actually saw a police officer getting her purse stolen. Now that's disrespect. It's pitiful. She was in uniform.
Often I've arrived at the scene of a kidnapping or building takover to find male police officers, and I'm not making this up, running with their hands in the air and screaming like women. Not toward the door, which might make sense, but all higgeldy piggeldy inside the building.
Don't get me started on the Hollows. Though I will say this, where do I get one of those riot shields?
One of my lasting memories of my first foray into Paragon City was seeing a policeman stroll toward a group of Hellions, freeze, then scarper off, hands fluttering.
Hmph. Pathetic.

It's not just the police either. Even the SWAT teams scream like small girls when something so simple as a Troll turns up. One of my more vivid memories of police activity was coming up an elevator to find myself face-to-face with a uniformed officer who looked at me and cowered before running away screaming. I realize I'm not much to look at, but I don't think I'm that bad.
That's because the budget is busy funding the Paragon City Police Force on Virtue, the only Police Force around that actually fights back and brings in their share of criminals.
I'm a new "hero" on the scene, and at first I thought it was cute how the police didn't seem to do anything. I mean, I didn't really notice any citizens breaking any major laws.
But then, whilst walking down the street in Steel Canyon, a driver clearly made an unprotected left turn from the right lane, without even using a blinker. The police officer strolled merrily passed me and even waved, not even batting an eyelash at this display of wreckless driving. Unresponsive to my requests to do something, I decided yet again to take the matter into my own hands, racing after the car. I caught up with it, but the driver wouldn't stop despite my commands to pull over. He managed to lose me at the Independence Port tunnel. By the way, if you happen to see an oak red caddy, with darkened windows and an illegible license plate, attempt to pull it over.
I'm beginning to think there's something wrong with this whole damn town. <ponders>
