(My second of these introductions.. This one involving a couple of my alternate in game characters- although in terms of actual writing, I've been doing them forever- or since I created them in 1992.. enjoy!)
There's a lot of super heroes who don't see anything to do in Paragon City outside of, well, being super heroes. Shelly Hollins, however, was not one of them. She'd get her fill easy. The city had always been a harsh place for her. She only came here to find an old friend.. named Wilde..
That's where our story starts, actually. Where the super hero'ing left off.. at least for a few weeks. It's also where things got weirder for Shelly Hollins- a current reserve member of the Superbabes. Resident multipath. Daughter of independent wrestling promoter Harry Hollins.
And depending on which way the weather is blowing, either an always serious verbose natural born leader, or a shy, quiet intimidated young heroine in training.
Oh, and last but certainly not least, a mutant, just like her friend Wilde. Or Wilde Tanke, as he'd taken to calling himself. As much as they had in common, Wilde was in many ways the opposite of Shelly. His original powers were boosted scientifically. The process changed the very nature of his powers. Originally it had been a biochemical foam with properties of both pyrotechnical and cryogenically natures. After the experiment, his powers shifted unexpectedly to an electrical nature.
The mild and somewhat constant pain his powers caused in his arms and hands were now gone. Unfortunately, they'd been replaced with debilitating headaches that seemed to strike out of no where, randomly, with no connection to his powers whatsoever. It changed Wilde. The once care free would-be wrestler found himself getting more and more serious.. darker, some would say.
It didn't fit him. The move to Paragon City didn't fit him either- leaving behind his friends, his family, and his dream of becoming a professional wrestler. But none of it mattered. Not even his lifelong friend Shelly Hollins.
So he went to Paragon City. Not long after, she followed him. She wasn't sure why he'd gone. She later found out he was searching for a cure, as well as an outlet for his newfound powers. It took her months to track him down, and weeks to get him to listen to her. The two visited their home town for a while. Chicago needed our help as much as Paragon City.
They developed responsibilities here, though. We returned a few weeks ago.. and more or less avoided the hero's normal circuits. They had something to figure out first. The two nearly fell in love. It was after the first date a Hellion recognized them. Realizing he'd never be able to take them on his own, he organized a little pack with a couple of Family members, who in turn brought in a couple of the Freakshow, and a Clockwork Clog.
The Clockwork had an especially longstanding hatred for Shelly Hollins. The two young heroes didn't sense the ambush coming out that evening on a quiet Paragon City Italian restaurant. They dealt with it experimentally. Unfortunately, the fight spilled over into the restaurant. Despite their best efforts to contain the fight or move it back into the streets, several people were injured.
Armed with a newfound confidence, and a harsh reminder of the brutal way of life in Paragon City, Wilde and Shelly reluctantly split up.. The city had a lot of souls that needed saving.
And the two young heroes who were once lost in the big city, had finally remembered they had a place.
Still hate the visit Winscott mission- make it dropable, have it give actual exp or remove it altogether. PS- Down knows who you are.
