Advice on server hopping for roleplay
Im normally not a cynic, but Ill wear that hat for a moment for your benefit.
Virtue is not the roleplaying mecca many tout it to be. Even as the unofficial RP server, there are plenty of people who grind here as well. I would hate for you to have the wrong expectations and leave everything behind only to be disapointed when virtue isnt a roleplaying nirvana.
That being said, and removing that nasty hat, Ive been lucky and found a lot of random roleplayers to speak with... many of whom are eventually assimilated into my collective... err supergroup Even outside of FSS though, there are a lot of great roleplayers on virtue... and if your a "self starter" it might be just the place for you. There's a TON of talent on virtue, I can speak from experiance there.
Just dont expect RP to find you, it takes some work. I hope things work out on justice for you so you dont have to leave your friends, but if you end up coming to virtue, feel free to drop me or anyone in FSS a line.
((Agree with shadowplay...
Also, if you can wait long enough - several months to a year - there are a few small hints that Portal Corporation MAY someday allow transfer between servers. I could be overly optimistic, though.))

Hence the post. I've heard a lot of bad things about Justice, that the killstealing there is rampant, that there are few to non roleplayers, more people and more lag (well the last one I can actually verify), so higher downtimes, etc. Most of this from a friend who pointedly avoids playing there, and plays on Infinity.
So I figured I'd post here and get some opinions. I think I may at least create some characters to try some other servers, if not to actually try them, then just because I have way too many character ideas and not enough character slots on Justice
People complain about KS'ing everywhere, and I think that if the whining was equal to the actual problem, there'd be no gangers left to be KS'ed, if you catch my meaning, heh.
I can count on one hand the number of times I was KS'ed on Virtue... and I just moved on. Its not worth the hassle for a handful of gangers you can just find someplace around the corner.
As for the number of Role players vs non-roleplayers... that's a hard figure to dispute or even discuss. You can't tell if someone is a Role Player or not just by looking at them, and some people only role play with friends or in team channels.
I believe that virtue has an active "community" of role players, and can speak first hand that several other grounds have contacted FSS about cross over events (AKA the Spetznaz thread, for example.)
I think its skewed at the lower levels, since you have a lot of people with no invested interest in there character clogging up limited resources... it tends to make unpleasent people even more unberable. Most of the random roleplay Ive stumbled across has been of the 10+ variety. Characters are more stable and invested in then, and people have some of the powers they imagine that there character would have.
Anyway, like I said... feel free to look us up if you come to virtue, or drop by our IC/OOC boards HERE
Well, I jumped here from Freedom, and I can tell you that if you stick around a bit and rp yourself (even though your group doesn't RP) you'll soon get some RP'ers and friends and stuff...really...no kiddin'....

Dragon's one of our converts apparently
Well, I made a little defender on Virtue, called Sister Nature. Though, how long she'll last I don't know; I think I actually prefer controllers, even if they can't solo at all.
So far so good. No KSing, at least. Sure hate having to level up to 10 again, I've done this about a dozen times in the past month!
As an escapee from Justice, the unofficial XP grinding and general pubescent noobie server, I can say things on virtue are a tad better, but if only just.
I try to RP at all times, so I do find the occasional RP'er here and there. My only problem is that I hail from Australia, so I play the American graveyard shift. For me it's 7pm to 11pm Australian east cost time, which for the US, say west coast, that's 2am to 5am of the previous day.
As you can see I don't get the chance to see many people online, my only hope is to RP with some locals, which despite growing in numbers day by day, are still few and far between.
FSS has a few late nighters... feel free to look us up sometime. I know that Ill be on a more night-time schedual soon...
If I ever get up and going before 4 pm you might run into me, I think that with daylight savings time 17.00 CET equals midnight in australia. Just look for little green dryads whizzing by.
Also I checked the unofficial RPers hangout yesterday, which I got from another thread. Under Galaxy Girl's statue. Didn't seem to be a whole lot of people there. Like, none. Made me feel weird, being such an Atlas fan on Justice, did you know you could stand on his head?
Actually...you'll find the most RP near Miss Liberty. It's just not the official spot 'cos the munchkins go there too. An interresting thing by the way, why is it that people automaticly chose the starting place with the FEMALE leveler?
In my case it was because I was told to go there my first time and got into the habbit of going to the zone I knew.
Though this time I started at the brawler. I don't think I like Galaxy City as much as Atlas Park though, for leveling purposes at least. Purely accidental too, apparantly you can ask about the contact before he sends you off, then when you try to get back to pick he just sends you off somewhere.

Oh please... like you even have to ASK!
Ok, so, here is the deal. I'm an avid, heck, rabid roleplayer. And I play Justice. Now I have made some friends there that more or less roleplay (which really is also fine with me, sometimes it's a drag having to RP around things that are simply named as a game mechanic), but still it's a little boring since the majority of people on Justice seem to prefer to level grind.
So I'm considering hopping over to another server, though I'd hate to leave all my characters, not to mention the friends I made behind, so I'm a little unsure. Is there hope for RP on Justice that I just haven't seen? Or should I just jump ship now before I get even more rooted on a server with little RP?
EDIT: Incidentally, I'm european, so a server with a solid number of RPers and east coasters or europeans would be good.
