Drawing Heroes (Info Request)

Okay... I really have no idea where to post this, but since this forum seems to at least have a moderator post about artwork? Well... feel free to move it if it's in the wrong place.

Anyhow, some of you will probably remember me as Ermine from the old Forums? I'm writing this post to try to catch up with my contacts as it were.

Belebras
Nightlaw
fatesdefiance
PaiHuShi

I need information or confirmation from you all that you're still around and interested in the pictures you'd requested for your characters. If not then I won't bother drawing them and trying to find you though I have a partial drawing of Pai's martial artist already. ^^

Please let me know if you're here and post the main bits of info about the character again.

Hair color
Eye color
Skin tone
Special info

As a somewhat non-art-related aside though... Fenrus/Bulletproof and I will be getting our roleplaying thread started soon. Not that anyone's been waiting patiently for it or anything, but 'ey.

Sorry guys, this really isn't a thread to take art requests. This is just a carry-over from the old forums where there were some people who'd asked and I agreed to draw for. I'm really looking forward to some time off from drawing other heroes. Maybe to write some of my character's origin and maybe to draw some of JB and BP. Thanks so much for the compliments though.

Okay, for those who were waiting for a picture... they're finished and up on the site.

Pictures are for Airina, Black Razor, Eujin, Lady Genevieve, PaiHuShi, Red Queen, and Spitphyre.

Thanks for being so patient guys. I hope you like the pictures. Also up is a link to what Jet Blue and Bulletproof's house looks like and the floorplan for the first floor.

VERY cool artwork... well done.

just as a point of curiosity, about how much time goes into each of those pieces of art?

Thank you, Shadowmantle.

Sorry I didn't get to a reply sooner. Actually, sometimes it takes a long time to get a piece of artwork done. Normally the initial pencil sketch is pretty quick. If I've got a good enough idea for the character to put on paper. That can take time. I usually ink the pictures twice (for different line widths) and that can be time consuming. Coloring is the easy bit. So actually it can take anywhere from a few days to a month. I know that's not very specific. ^^ It just depends. Also I tend to take batches of requests and try to finish them and put them up on my site all that once. So if some aren't done then the rest might be waiting. It's great fun drawing the heroes of CoH though.

I really love your lines, would it terribly offend you if I were to do some colorings of your work and maybe even share them? If that's ok I'd have no problem showing you frist of course... no intent of butchering someone's art.

Edit: I completely neglected to ask what your coloring methods were... what are your coloring methods?

Thanks, SailorMeff. As it usually takes two different inkings to achieve those nice line widths, it's great that someone notices.

I usually don't mind if folks want to color my artwork. But I won't put up with it if people try to claim the artwork (not the coloring, but the pen and ink figure) as their own. Also, because I've taken requests to draw the characters of other heroes... many of the drawings are the brain children of other board members. I really don't know how they will feel about a variant coloring of their character. I'm going to assume that, as they were given as gifts, people will not be upset by other people coloring them. I will be royally PO-ed however if any of the pictures are taken, recolored, and claimed to be another character. If I draw a picture of Slick, it's Slick. If I draw a picture of JetBlue/Ermine, it's JetBlue/Ermine.

I'm really not sure who else you're wanting to display them to, so maybe you could explain? I'd love to see the result of the coloring whenever. It's always fun to see what people come up with.

My own coloring techniques are pretty primitive. Usually I use Prismacolor pencils, brush pens, and/or Paintshop Pro. Sometimes black and white drawings as well. Whatever works, I guess.

I was looking for the original artist for this picture of Pai Hu Shi when I found this post. So I figured I would show you the result of my coloring. I hope you approve.

Great coloring job, Thornster! And thank you for taking the time to look up the artist. I totally appreciate it. The shading work is awesome.

SunRay, nah... Briar Rose is my cousin's char and I really doubt she was ever there. Thank you though.
