Does anyone know of or willing to make a "so you got your first wacom tablet, here is how in the hell the thing works" article? I've already seen you guys post some things that will be really helpful to my techno-shy sister. Once she gets it I know she gonna give me that look that says "now what" and if there was a nice place to point and say "here!, now go, do artz" I think that would make this bir-stma-duation present more complete.

To give you some perspective, she still hasn't set up a DA page even though I showed her the site over the summer...maybe this is techno-phobia...or more likely she just thinks I'm an idiot...which is well true.

HA! I have the artistic talent of so many circus elephants. My sister is the one that picked up all the art genes in our family, that will be a gift for her going to college. The bamboo fun was 166.70USD on amazon.com, most other sites were showing it for 199.99USD Also it qualifies for free shipping.

So I looked around some, I can't help myself when it comes to shopping, can you imagine. Anyway, I wasn't happy with the size of the "bamboo pen" and "bamboo pen and touch" tablets, the drawing area is little bigger than a 3x5 notecard. So the next step up is a bamboo fun, which is effectively the "bamboo pen and touch" with a larger drawing area, I found a good deal on it at amazon, which doesn't show up in any of the regular "deal sites" I guess i'm not allowed to post a price but it's cheaper than the regular price but still more expensive than the smaller "pen and touch." Not to detract from the original poster but it's something to consider, perhaps the expense is too much for an introduction but if the inclination is already there then it's probably a good value. I just thought I would let the OP in on my "find"

It's deadweek, university rules state that "no exam or quiz shall be given on the week prior to the week of finals" you'll have to reschedule your quiz for next semester.

3) prison why: cause when I go to prison it'll be for something like tax evasion or something where they send you to happy upstate prison with a library that isn't on a cart. also chance for early release with good behavior...I'm totally screwin with the rules here but hey.

hmm well this is unfortunate. Looks like they have discontinued the bamboo fun color tablets. I was thinking of getting one for my sister for christmas, looks like i will have to go shopping again. Picking between the two I would go with the pen and touch. Cause I like haveing all the features. Perhaps not having all the features for a first forray into digital input is not so bad, save some money if it doesn't pan out of have some for when it's time to upgrade.

According to wacoms site product comparison neither of those tablets come with a pen or mouse. But when you click the "what's inside" link for the models noting a pen in the title they say a pen is included. Confusing! One would hope the pen is included for devices with a pen in the product title. Perhaps this is just a typo or site error.

Generally a parts list is posted before parts are ordered so the builder or buyer or both can get feed back on it from the community at large. This is done so that the buyer can find better deals or better parts. I'm not trying to be rude. I just don't understand the need for the secrecy. Given your old computer anything newer should be a big surprise for you as far as performance is concerned, even if you know the specs ahead of time, it wont compare to the experience of playing on your new computer.

since Caem's been prodding me so hard...he prolly doesn't like being jumped...I've finally collected my characters in to neat little references.

I've been holding back a reply to this thread. I definately have to agree with IB implying something is much much better than hanging it out there. A side ways glance, curvy shapes and lack of evidence to show that those curvy shapes might in someway be concealed from another point of view is much more "healthy" than "OMG bewbs!" although without an occaisional prize the implication of the prize is devalued and potentially frustrating.

As a note anyone with a DA account that enter their age as 18 can see all pictures uncensored...I was 18 with a DA account once >_> so even with censoring the 2 click rule is not reliable.

I don't know if any of you follow massively.com but there has been at least two articles and gobs of comments about boobs in MMO's I highly reccomend checking those out (one of the articles is in anti-aliased and the other is i believe by the same author, all stems from a header page featuring a scantily clad and thoroughly endowed poster girl for NCsofts next creation "blade and soul")

Well I'm glad I stumbled onto this thread. I have been building systems, while not professionally, for 4 years now. I worked heavily on the AIONsource tech board (the basement as it was formally known) for the better part of the summer arguing some sense into them and up till the final beta tests was able to show them them light. Then the popularity of the game pulled in some people that could shout louder than I could argue. This is primarily why I avoid "tech sections" as they are full of fan boys and extremists. I therefore spend most of my time working AI (www.asusindependent.com) true we only have full service for Asus motherboards but I find that many problems we run into revolve around other components of the PC and the OS.

So, history aside, I will be watching closely. As proof I have a correction. 1080p > 1600x1200, 1080x1920 =~ 2.0736Mpixels while 1600x1200 =~ 1.92Mpixels. Though for the purposes of hardware stress a hundred thousand pixels or so is not an exceptional difference. There are other benefits to a 16x9 or 16x10 format display, HD movies require no scaling and in gaming you can see more around, important for those shootouts in the streets.

I'd be more than happy to help anyone else with their computer building needs questions and complaints, just send me a PM.
