Circeus, there is something you (and many others) have glossed over about Statesman's numbers...they are off...WAY off.

As stated, invul passives are 7.5% (which has been tested and everyone agrees on that number) but where the error comes is in the enhancements. Statesman said that max with +3 level SO resists you would get 18.975% from the invul passives. Think that through everyone. To get 18.975% from +3 level enhancements each enhancement would need to provide 25.5% buff (((1 + (6 * .255)) * 7.5) = 18.975). This means that each defense and resist SO is gaining a 9.167% boost each level, as opposed to the accepted (and dev quoted from long ago) 5% boost each level.

    Invul max on passives should be 17.85 = ((1 + (6 * (.2 * 1.15))) * 7.5)

    7.5% base * (1+ (6 Enhancements * .2 Enhancement increase)) * 1.15 for +3 Enhancements = 18.975.

I'm gonna have to pay more attention in math class just to understand what all that means for me.

This goes 10 times for Fire. Ice Tanks are now totally vulnerable to fire damage. The only defense we get to them is a mediocre 17% - if we jump into a group of 14+ fire-throwing enemies... not a good idea.

Alright, I understand that that is bad, but we have to keep with the themes of the game. If fire couldn't effect ice more than other powers then that wouldn't be right.........Just thought I'd say that.
  3. My Ice tank was the first toon I ever made and maybe thats why I love ice armor so much. Honestly, ice armor is horrible. The only reason I chose it was the ability to stack the toogles, but I've learned that that isn't even enough. Its an amazing drain on End and it still doesn't compair to other tanks, or scrappers. I can't even look at the arenas without cringing. Everytime I do venture inside them I usually meet a scrapper. I think to myself, "Hmm, a scrapper. I should be able to take him out, or at least survive for the match." That of course isn't the case at all. Within no time at all, I'm on the floor clicking the respawn button. In mishes I can hold my own, but I'm obviously overshadowed by any other tank/scrapper on the team.

On a team the Tanks are supposed to take the hits right? I mean we have zero range, our attacks don't do that much damage (compared to other Archetypes), we have almost no croud control, and we definately don't have pets. So how are we supposed to do our jobs when we don't have enough Def and Res to take the hits? What use is there for us tanks? What use indeed.
  4. Alright. its pretty obvious that the ice armor is pretty screwy and that we ice tanks are at the bottom of the food chain, but I just don't see the problem. I'd rather be one of a few ice tanks out there(which I am) than one of the inv or fire tanks that everyone else is. The ice armor isn't used by most players and thats the main reason I wanted to use it. I feel kinda special (in a good way ) when I run around talos or wherever and I'm the only high lvl ice tank around. I hate it when other people have the same powers as me because it seems to cheapen me. If everyone stated using ice armor, I would honestly me disappointed.

The ice armor also presents a challenge. I see fire tanks run around with blazing aura and take out groups of baddies. Of course things like that won't be possoble after I5, but anyways. I would get bored if I could do things like that with my ice tank. I know alot of players wouldn't agree with me, but I prefer ice armor over all others. The challenges it has and the lack of use by players just appeals to me.

Don't pity me for being icy, pity me for the way I dance. There ya go, hope you enjoyed my 2 cents.
  5. My first toon I did was an ice armor tank. I chose this armor over the others because of the fact that they could be stacked. It just seemed that with 5 toogles going at once would make me unstoppable, that of course is not the case, but I can hold my own. It was difficult for the lower lvls, but after i respec'ed twice (I screwed up so bad ), my tank finally began to pull his weight. After the second respec, I could really see a huge difference. All the info you supplied will definiately keep others from screwing up an ice tank like me. All I say is to get stamina and 6 slot it ASAP. Theres nothing worse than getting in the middle of an intense battle and all your toogles shut off. That is a bad time indeed.
