go with my mastery
BS for team pvp or some specific builds
I'd suggest mu mastery for fire/elec so EM doesn't wreck you and the mu pet helps with incoming damage
you're not going to drain anyone's endurance with /elec and mu mastery unless there end is already bad(SO build?) so don't make any plans around trying to drain endurance, it isn't effective. -

m3z, quick question.
I'm building my Mind/Fire, and am saving up for him right now... and somebod in my SG has already challenged me to a duel once I finish building him. The person who asked to duel me is a ice/elec Dom, and Im wondering how Mind/Fires do to slows.
What would you do if you versed someone with slows? How would you change your gameplay?
[/ QUOTE ]against more slows you bring more breakfrees, especially if you do not have perma dom, or you have low recharge. Remember in dom dittos the first one to make the kill basically controls the match from there on out. If you make your build with mu mastery you should have no trouble with his elec attacks.

You recomended that I use Fire/Elec in my PVP help thread, but what is the downside to Mind/Elec?
[/ QUOTE ]with TK you're repelling your opponent away from you, most of elec's strong attacks are melee. You can do alot of tactical stuff with TK but if you don't have a strong ranged attack it kind of ruins the point. It probably will still do very well, I'd just rather have fire/elec or ice/elec since they seem to mesh together better. Ice/elec slows help to get in melee range. fire/elec has more damage with the imps so you become an offensive beast.

It seemed like in the vid vs the Ice/Rad that Mez hitting through RI but I couldn't be sure. Is tactics good enough to hit through a troller's RI? A defender's RI?
[/ QUOTE ]I have massive acc from purples, but troller RI is fairly easy to hit through, defender RI tied with powerboost is not so much, you need to run out of the RI range with teleport or SJ. Once you get out of range of RI go immediately back while it's still recharging on their tray and beast them in the face with a strong attack chain. I'm fairly certain you can detoggle RI with a 5% or 64% detoggler as well, I remember detoggling TK with blaze. Just stay out of defender RI it's nearly impossible to hit through. (FoN nerf isn't helping in these matchups much either >.> -
seriously though, I'm against things like going under the map and true spawn camping(putting an attack on auto/mezzing someone while they are supposed to be invulnerable to attacks) however, I do tech chasing people so you know where they're at when they spawn, let me make this clear, this tactic is used ONLY to find out where they spawn, that's it. I don't want to let people to turn on their toggles and get ready, as soon as their attackable I want to be attacking them. I never get this "i'll let you set up" treatment on my MM, why should it be any different for any other AT. I'm open for any reasons why it shouldn't be done.

Last Monday I got the chance to duel a lot of good pvpers on freedom like Avid, Havok, Ajax etc. It's given me a good chance to evaluate doms post i12.
Nerfs to mind control dueling mindgames/playstyle
-knockback suppression on levitate AND fixed forcefeedback recharge proc(no more raeping people with dominate-->levitate-->dominate infinite)
-FoN nerf to 25% to-hit
-TK nerf (2 BFs to resist repel)
Mind dom is still fairly easy to play just not like it used to be. I can't beat a good storm/psi who cames because I simply cannot FoN+red rush and TK is easily broken with two BFs combined with the slows and hurricane -range, this is now a counter build(IMO) to mind doms.
Little trixxy - Tech Chasing (NO ATTACK spawn camping)
now the only difference between this and what's shown here is that you're not attacking, it's simply a way to find where your opponent spawns so you don't get surprised or you can continue pressuring your opponent as before. Now some people may say this is cheap but I love to do it because it fits into my super aggressive play style of constant high damage pressure game.
Instruction: Simply put your opponent's dead body on follow and when they spawn you will follow where they spawn.
I got temp b& so I figured I may as well just make all the recordings I had into vids.
see if you can keep up with the speed of my magic fingers(make sure to put this ***** on high detail cuz I am super fast)
M3z (Mind/Fire) v.s. Jackbull (Storm/Psi) - I get hit by sleet ALOT but no jones I was playing scrubby, good stuff
M3z (Mind/Fire) v.s. MaXimum (Mind/Fire) - MaX wanted to dom ditto me for the battle of the balls to see who is da #1 dom, no johns
M3z (Mind/Fire) v.s. Iceberg Heat (Ice/Fire) - I tried to limit as much as possible of what he was able to do slows =bad news bears since it knocks off perma dom ):
M3z (Mind/Fire) v.s. Ajax (Ice/Rad) - This one I caught Ajax off by being super trixxy with my spawn camping and aggressiveness, but he beat me in the Re equally as bad(wish my playstyle wasn't so readable after one match), no johns though good stuff
M3z (Mind/Fire) v.s. Frosted- (Cold/Ice) - (this one has the best music imo)cold/ice def was the hardest out of the colds i've fought (i've fought all viable combos but dark) and I was still able to beat it fairly easy. Dark will be alot tough I'm sure because of the PB'd to-hit debuffs combined with slows, one mistake will lead to a inescapable slippery slope.
"M3z all u can do is TK"
"i bet u play mind/fire and fire/energy"
"tk takes no skill"
"without domination u would be nothing, watch for the perma domination nerfs!"
"I knew you were good, but I didn't think you were this good" -
I recorded a bunch of duels from freedom, I'll put whatever ones you guys request on youtube
I have:
ajax's ice/rad
MaXimum's mind/fire
vert's mind/fire
cold/ice defender
ice/em blaster
ice/fire dom
storm/psi def
some duels I wished I had recorded
craggs cold/psi
vert cold/psi
ajax cold/son
myk ice/rad
I have concluded that defender colds aren't very good in duels -
i'm taking gloom, webnade = assassin strike
-
alright after looking at fortunatas I think I'm going to stop playing mind/psi in 8v8s
fortunatas wreck -
yeah sorry I didn't get to answer that question, I was playing brawl
good for taking out MMs if you're into that, immobs are predictable, imps [censored] up MMs but that's about it
I like mind better though, TK and dominate but I am rolling a fortunata right now so probably won't be playing mind/psi for long who knows -
i'm not even in VR and i say you're declined

I did not join Renegades because they were the better team. If you want evidence of this, then look at my hero SG: Paragon Elite.

Let's discuss 1v1s, advantages disadvantages, which builds you have troubles against.
edit: basically match ups discussion

Ok...go.
[/ QUOTE ]meh divine and unholy are better than you
[ QUOTE ]
Stormies, how would you deal with these now that teh TK of justice has been nerfed? Ice/Storm in particular. With an ice/elec, fire/psi, or mind/ice. Im just curious if you have any ideas I haven't thought of.
[/ QUOTE ]
ice/storms have been tough for me. You have small margin for error. It's important that you don't get hit by sleet and hurricane(blah blah [censored] you already know)
Ice/Elec - you can hit shiver through the hurricane with BU and webnade so you can keep your distance. Get the early FoN kill so you can get domination off. I guess the second you knock off the steamy mist i'd go in for the kill since elec's melee is pretty insane. If you get office I'm fairly certain it will be a loss for an ice/elec.
Fire/psi's whole game will be to hit drain psyche, you miss it once you're dead.
mind/ice you should still be able to TK them, if they use 2 BFs i'd just run, if it's a small map then I really don't know what you cuold do.
On all three of the builds i'd be trying to get temp webnades off so I can get rid of the hurricane pressure for a second. -

will fortunata replace mind/psi??? :O :O :O
I'll decide once I get a few practices in, I really want to try the overpowered confuse in a team situation
fortunata's ranged attack chain>>>>>mind/psi's
If someone let's me play a fortunata in an 8v8 I can fairly evaluate which would be better -

Hey M3z let those GMW guys know I'm not gonna be playing CoH. Don't want to pay for two games, I'm busy, it's too laggy for test pvp, I didn't know I was joining GMW, Sinister's in it and he's [censored], [more excuses].
