Support didn't even read my problem before fobbing me off some canned answer for a problem I don't even have. Sigh...

Quote:Tried this and things worked well in windowed mode. When I set it back to full screen its still off-centered. I have opened up a ticket with support and hopefully will update this thread with more information once they respond.Try changing it to Windowed Mode temporarily. That will give you the top border of the window so you can drag and center it if needed. Make sure the Window is Maximized.
If all is working well running it in Windowed Mode, then try setting it back to Full Screen and see if it goes back to being off-centered.
If people have more ideas for me to try though I'm all ears. -
Yeah reinstalling didn't help. Its almost as if its saved the settings somewhere for the game that isn't taken care of by an uninstall. Other games at 1920x1200 seem to be centered and run fine. I guess I've exhausted all of my options it seems and it might be time to call it in to support...

Quote:I haven't filed a bug report yet but am probably going to. I can try to reinstall and see if that helps. I'll let you all know.Sorry about asking all of the questions, but every little detail can matter and we only know what you tell us.
Did you file a bug report with support?
After the first R (Reboot), how willing are you to trying the second R (Remove and Reinstall)?
Quote:Here's a question... what happens when you move the mouse to the left? Can you move the cursor into the "black bar" territory? (make sure you're on a character when you try) Or does it stop at the edge of where CoH is showing stuff?
What about if you take a screenshot with the print screen key (ignore the shot that CoH itself saves) and paste that into mspaint, is there the black bar or not?
What about the right side of the screen? Are things going off that side? Can you move the mouse out beyond that edge of the screen?
Nothing appears off the right hand side of the screen in the giant black bar area and I can't move the mouse cursor out into or beyond that area.
I am going to try to reinstall the game and see if that helps. -
Quote:It's centered and nothing seems off when I change it to that resolution but I'm just wondering why it suddenly decided to do this out of the blue when I have been playing fine at 1920x1200 for days and it suddenly after the update on tuesday is off center.I realize it's a mild step down, but what does 1920x1080 look like?
Yes, it recently happened after the patch. The monitor is the same one I've been using for a long while. Everything before this happened was working fine and normal. -
Just one monitor. I have the settings set to 1920x1200 desktop.
-
Double checked my documentation, it says the recommended settings are 1920x1200 @60hz. When I change it to lesser resolutions I don't run into this problem but everything looks superhuge.

I had tried it earlier and it didn't work but suddenly after your suggestion I tried it again and it did. I feel sort of dumb now but thank you for your help!

I did a search of the forum and came up with nothing. My display is off center for only one resolution (1920x1200), its off to the left with a huge black bar on the right hand side of the screen. This is for the login screen as well as in game.
I just played an hour ago and it wasn't like this. Its repeatable. I tried closing and opening the launcher again, tried restarting windows 7, graphics card and drivers all up to date (yes I've checked). I have also tried the repair (consistency check) of all installed files and still it does it.
I guess my question is this, I know there are settings for resolution that can be changed but what about centering the images displayed on my monitor by the game? Are there any settings that could be affected for centering the image?
