Calhoun Parker a 15 year old boy never knew his herritage until the day his grandfather gave him "the book".

in the 1700s the Germans like the english had magery that was unspoken after the expulsion of it. Calhouns great-great-great-great grandfather happened to be just that..a german magi. he was a leader of one of the few guilds of magi that controlled the forces of the world,unlike the english the german magi used a different kind of manipulation instead of the use of fire and ice the german controlled the unseen energys such as radiation waves and micro waves. Life was well for Zirak Shuma ,Calhouns great-great-great-great grandfather, and his family until he walked in on a meeting of the german king and his plot that these "demonic" magi wielders needed to be purged. zirak was a very religous man and believed his powers could be used to help serve god. after hearing this he knew his life was coming to a screeching halt. Zirak that night snuck into his sons bed room and sucked the essence from his body and enchanted his sons blood to always carry a magic adept feel. after doing this zirak shortly past away without anyone having a clue except for a sheet he tore out of his beginners spell book and stuck in his diary and left his son a note to always keep this book and pass it down to each of his sons. within the year the magi order was dissassembled and washed away into mythology and legends.

Calhoun opened his book living in a small suburb with his mom,dad,grandparents and his pet moose. Calhoun started reading through the diary intrigued by his grandfathers use of magic. "amazing magics real!!!" calhoun thought to himself as he read on and on. eventuall as he was nearing the end of the book a small old paper fell into his lap. he pick it up and began to look at it. he stared at it intently and the un-readable words began to form in his mind. it was a spell at being able to hold radiation in place and form a small pillar of energy. at the bottom of the page it said in ink with his ziraks dying words.

Calhoun chanted the words on the page and soon enough he could see green power forming creating a portal showing his mom making lunch. For the next several years throughout the rest of high school and college calhoun would always practice over and over. after he graduated calhoun had been able to manipulate and summon sub-atomic particles too easily kill organic tissue in a humans body.
one day calhoun was walking home to his apartment and he saw a flyer for paragon citys uprising hero program. Calhoun ran home and packed his bags to get a flight to paragon city.
when calhoun arrived he was forced to choose a code name to use when fighting crime. Calhoun chose moose after his favorite pet animal. moose trained feverously to become stronger. many heroes suggested he should study to become a defender but moose refused too. moose was more potent and wanted to use his radiation for injury and destruction more than healing though he knew it and was quite adept at using it. because of this many heroes thought he was naturally evil but moose just wanted to fight more since when young he loved to sword fight with sticks and read comics about heroes such as statesman. many heroes distrusted him since many a villain came into the hospital with mortally wounded organs due to mooses powers. one day he was out to stop a out break of circle of thorn cultists. moose was teamed with a claw wielding scrapper named sheen and his two buddys chozoz,gravity controller, and kosmos,invinsible tanker. moose saw the lead cultist about to sacrafice an 12 year-old child when he shot a ball of radioactive energy with potentcy of the bomb that hit hiroshima. sheen jealous leapt foward in an attempt to behead the cultist. sheen misjudged. moose killing the cultist had completly melted all organic tissue in sheen killing him within seconds. his friends and family began to spread lies that moose was insane and needed to be executed. and many believed them because from this atomic explosion mooses eyes blackened and looked more evil than good. some knowing of his heritage began to spread rumors that he was ressurecting nazism and spreading it in the USA. moose apauled by the lies tryed to apologize to sheens friends and family but they spit on his face even when he had tears of sincerity welled up in his eyes. even mooses girl friend who was a psychic controller named sycrosis began to give into the deception and after 2 monthes the police arrested moose on behalf of man slaughter. moose was sent to the prison known as the "zig". after a month of jail he had lost all hope for himself so using radiation he altered his skull to grow horns the glowed green with the radiation used to make them. moose began to wish he could just say good bye to sycrosis before he completely fell into depression. two weeks later a loud alarm woke him up in one of his naps. his jail cell flew open and arachnos escorted out into mercy island. moose then remembered everything heard about this group arachnos and remembered the type of villain they trained called corruptors. they were just what moose wanted to do. moose showed up to his new mentor scirocco telling him his name. scirocco the decided to name him shifty moose because of his all black apparel. after giving him his name scirocco gave shiftymoose a magic artifact mask called Arcanos. this mask enhances manipulation of energy waves. shiftymoose bides his time till he can find some way of proving his innocence to sycrosis and to move away into the country with her to live a peaceful life but until then shiftymoose must rise to the top of this organization to have some resources.
