Hi again,
Well I have now got Dimension Shift, and have been playing around with it, but I think it may be slightly bugged. Let me explain the peoblem I am having...
If I trap a bunch of mobs in it, then all is good, they get imobilized, and phased no problem. However, the power description also says that mobs who enter the phase will also be imobilized and phased. This is not allways happening. Mobs seem to happily run from the far side of the bubble, through it and out the other side, and start beating on me.
Basically the Imobilize does not seem to allways lockdown mobs that pass thru the field. Having checked, the imobilize I believe is now mag10 and also auto hit, so no idea how the run thru it without being immobilized.
I think they seem to phase when in the bubble, but not get rooted, unless they were inside when it was actually put down.
Any thoughts welcome! -
Cool.... Thanks for the explanation that is a great help.....
I did also wonder how this works with Bosses? I notice that it has a 10mag Imobilize, but only a 3mag Intangible. So I assume a Boss would be stuck in the zone, but could fire out at you still? Does that mean if you went inside the phase, that he could not shoot you even tho he is rooted inside.... So complicated the mind boggles! -

Quote:The marker would indicate the center of the DS'd zone. Honestly, My grav dommy skipped DS and i haven't missed it in the slightest. If there are a couple of mobs in fairly close proximity, i just wormhole the group i want to where ever i want'em...then go to town. As long as you plant whatever you're WH'ing far enough away, if you happen to catch part of the other mob group, or even just part of the group you were aiming at...your chances of aggroing the rest are minimal. IMO, WH has been turned into the ultimate pulling tool. Stack'em, rack'em, and smack'em.
Awesome help.... thanks for taking the time to post your reply, much appreciated! -
Quote:I believe the changes are already on Live, but my toon is only lvl 3, it was a question in advance, before I push on with this toon. I also am curious how Singuality behaves with this power? Does he move in and out of the phased zone on his own, or does he only go into the phase if you do?Copy your character to Test or Beta and try it out there to see if you like it.
Also if you then come out, does he follow, or warp, or stay in the phase area?
Thanks again! -
Hi,
I have posted the below on the Dominator Forum, but it could be easily answered by a Troller too.... so thanks in advance!
"Hi,
I have just rolled my first Gravity Dom, and I was curious about Dimension Shift since the new changes. My main question is this.... How easy is it to aim? I like the sound of the power alot, and was hoping to mainly use it for soloing and splitting up awkward spawns.
To explain what i mean..... If you had say 4 minions and a Leitenant standing around with a few feet between them, when you aim it, do you get a recticle to see exactly where the intangable zone is, or do you just get a centre point, and guess roughly who will fall in and out of the zone? In other words could i easily split maybe the leitenant and 1 minion inside, and the rest outside?
If you could place it exactly, then you could maybe split the spawn, some in some out, and that could be a nice control, tool. I am so hoping this ability is now usful, but just needed a little more info on how accurate you can be with it...
Thanks in advance!" -

Quote:If you're referring to the number of powers that are boosted by domination, then no...it's not.
It's actually Mind Control that has the most powers that benefit from Domination (which makes it kinda odd you said that DC had the most when you mentioned that you loved MC. <shrugz> Go figure, huh? lol). Levitate is the only exception in the entire set.
Dark Control has 2 powers that aren't affected, which would make it the second most Dommy affected set. Most of the other sets have 3-4 powers that it doesn't apply to.
As to OP...
I rolled up a D/D dommy...and i'm just not feelin it. I don't so much blame the dark control side of it as much as I'm not caring for dark assault. May re-roll with a different secondary.
Hi again....
Sorry, I stand corrected,(my mind toon is a Troller), still second of the control sets is still good. Also I prefer Fearsome stare to Terrify tbh because the damage in Terrify means you get an alpha, where as FS does not. I also am personally not a fan of Telekinesis, although that is a personal thing to be fair.
So I personally prefer Dark Control to mind control, as I feel it has the better bits of mind, plus the pets......
But each to their own.
Also from reading these posts, it is interesting to see some people love the doggy, while others absolutly hate it. I guess this would sway your experience either way. -
Hi,
I must admit, I rolled a Dark/Dark, and did not enjoy it too much, BUT rerolled Dark/Ice and I now love it! I would say Dark assault is a bit bland, but Dark control I find awesome. Not quite sure why people go on about it being only soft control? Heart of Darkness is the same Stun as earth has, only Pbae, but with Fearsome stare, that is not an issue, as they are feared as you run in, and also their -to hit is debuffed nicely.
They also get a power similar to voltanic Gasses, but this one IS effected by Domination, just like most of the Dark primary (well all, except the pets). This will lock down Bosses instantly pretty much, even without domination. Then there is 3 pets.... so not bad damage from a control primary.
Finally, the number of times I would have loved a single target Confuse on my Earth controller. Well guess wahat? Dark control gets one, and it has the coolest animation/graphic you could imagine. Until you turn that Sapper or Healer into a pet, you dont realize how good this power is. It also does not draw agro, and stacks on most bosses.
All in all I find Dark control an awesome powerset. It has great - to hit, 3 pets, great hard controls, a host of layered soft controls on top. Also Dark Control is THE most "Domination effected" primary that a Dominator can get.
Once you get a quick recharge build with some defence, it is amazing, and I would say it is one of the best Dom/Troller Primaries, and I have played most to high level.
I used to love Mind doms, but missed having the pet, now you can get all the fun of a Mind, but with pets aswell! -
Hi there,
I am kinda new to dominators, having mainly played Controllers over the years. I am enjoying the toon immensly, and have posted a build below which is achievable with my limited budget.
I dont have the cash for purples (only have about 250 million atm), but I already have the purple confussion set, so thats good. Not the best build I am sure, but was aiming for Perma Dom/Hasten, and a good ranged defence.
If someone can comment on the build it would be great. Any tips appreciated. By the way I intend to play mid range and mobile, and will mainly solo tbh, with ocasional grouping. The only power I wasnt fussed about is grant invis, but it is there for a mule for my 5th LOTG, and pushes Hasten to perma.
I picked the Spiritual boost for the recharge, I dont know much about Incarnate stuff yet, as i am only level 22 and my level 50's retired just after they came out, but I am hoping that the spiritual boost Alpha is soloable, and fairly easy to get? (correct me if i am wrong please) - Other Incarnates, I have no idea at all about.
Thanks in advance!

Hi all,
Just a quick question to ask if the have fixed the Dark Control pet yet? I dont mean the barking, I mean the fact that it was stuck in defensive mode all the time. If anyone can let me know it would be cool.... thanks in advance!
