Hi Cuppa. I have tried the separate folders approach but it doesn't seem to be working so I must be doing something wrong. In each case I have made sure that the paths are set to the correct folders, but when I go to open the second instance, the game window that is already running simply pops up.......do I need to have the folders in separate places i.e. one in applications and one on desktop?

Here are the steps to begin multiple instances of CoH. I have taken what Kuppa said and put a little more info to help.
-Create a folder on the desktop and name it NC Soft
-Drag and drop the NCLauncher.app icon (from Desktop or Applications) into the folder
-Drag and drop the City of Heroes.app icon (from Applications) into the folder
-Run the Launcher to make sure the game still runs
-if it does (and it should), close everything down
-Right Click on the NC Soft folder and DUPLICATE (Once duplication is complete, the new folder should be called NC Soft copy)
-Open NC Soft copy
-Run the Launcher
-Under Installed, click the drop down button for City of Heroes
-Click Properties
-Ensure the Install Location has
/Desktop/NC Soft copy/City of Heroes.app
Two run two instances, Open the NC Soft and NC Soft copy folders and run the launchers! You should be in bidness!
