  1. Hello. This is my first guide, so be gentle.

    Chapter 1 - Intro - I have been playing CoH for about a year now, but I wouldn't call myself a 'veteran'. I 'would' say, however, I know enough about the game to make solid builds and know how to play them.
    Recently, I began playing Fire/Kinetic Controllers, and the AoE damage potential about made me cry. So, I figured I'd try and bring it over to CoV, and out popped this Fire/Fire Dominator build. My builds for these two Archtypes have a similar purpose - pump out as much AoE as possible to kill as many minions as possible for as much XP as possible.

    Chapter 2 - The Powersets, and My Opinions of them -

    FIRE CONTROL -

    Ring of Fire - Immobilizes, Moderate DoT (Fire). Skip it. Char is far more useful.

    Char - Less Endurance and Recharge Speed than RoF, but less Duration as well. I favor this over Ring of Fire for tougher opponents, seeing as how this renders them helpless.
    3 Slot it: Acc, End Reduc, Rech.

    Fire Cages - Necessary. Keeps enemies put so you can put the hurt on them. Definite keeper.
    6 Slots: Acc, 2 End Reduc, 3 Rech.

    Smoke - Targeted AoE, -Perception and Acc. Not as useful, seeing as how it deals 0 damage. Skip it.

    Hot Feet - My personal favorite of the powerset. MUST HAVE. This is a main source of AoE, minions hate it.
    6 Slots: 3 End Reduc, 3 Damage.

    Flashfire - AoE Disorient. Mainly a backup to Fire Cages, but still good to have.
    6 Slots: 2 Acc, 1 End Reduc, 3 Rech.

    Cinders - PBAoE Hold, very good power. Keeps enemies from hitting back.
    6 Slots: 2 Acc, 1 End Reduc, 3 Rech.

    Bonfire - Targeted Aoe Knockback. Defeats the purpose of keeping them put for AoE. Next.

    Fire Imps - Imps! Imps! Imps! Gotta love 'em. They focus on killing stuff while you...do the same. Signature power for the set. Must have.
    5 Slots: 2 Acc, 3 Dam.

    FIERY ASSAULT -

    Flares - The game makes you take it...unfortunately.
    1 Entire slot: Acc.

    Incinerate - I take it because at level 4, it's the only logical choice. You're in melee range anyway, High damage can't hurt. It takes away from the AoE part of the build, but unfortunatly unavoidable.
    1 slot: Acc.

    Fire Breath: Power pools become more important than this at level 6. If there was room for it in the build, I might consider it. I skip it though.

    Fire Blast - Single target blasts go against the theme of the build. Next.

    Fiery Embrace - Can't argue with a damage buff strictly for fire powers.
    3 Slots: 3 Rech.

    Combustion - A non-toggle Blazing Aura. I like it. If there were extra slots, this power would eat them all up.
    1 Slot: Acc.

    Consume - Gives me back my Endurance. A must-have. Especially when you're used to Transference. :P
    6 Slots: 3 End Mod, 3 Rech.

    Blazing Bolt - No point for a sniper attack in this build.

    Blaze - This is a nice single-target blast for Lt's and Bosses. Especially when slotted up for damage.
    6 Slots: 2 Acc, 1 End Reduc, 3 Dam.

    Power Pools:

    First, the one's I used, and why.

    Leaping:
    Jump Kick - Nope.
    Combat Jumping - A solid defense buff. It also helps moving around mission maps.
    4 Slots: 1 End Reduc, 3 Defense.
    Super Jump - A personal favorite.
    1 Slot: Jump.
    Acrobatics - Resistance to knockback and hold. Good for keeping toggles alive. Not needed early, but good in your 30's.
    2 Slots: 2 End Reduc.

    Fitness:
    Swift/Hurdle - Pick one. I get swift, becuase I already jump high enough.
    1 Slot: Run Spd/Jump.
    Health - Duh.
    3 Slots: 3 Heal
    Stamina - Double Duh.
    3 Slots: 3 End Mod.

    Leadership: Good for teams and Imps.
    Maneuvers - Sadly, no room for it in the build. Fit it in there if you wish, but it's not necessary.
    Assault - A wonderful power.
    2 Slots: 2 End Reduc.
    Tactics - I love it.
    5 Slots: 2 End Reduc, 3 ToHit Buff
    Vengeance - No.

    Speed: Hasten and SS for increased manuverability.
    Flurry - No need for melee powers.
    Hasten - Triple Duh.
    3 Slots: 3 Rech.
    Super Speed - Nice at level 50 for moving around with SJ. I also like using it with the Set Enhancement Clerity, which gives you stealth.
    3 Slots: Clerity Set.
    Whirlwind - We got what we came for, skip this and move on with your day.

    I have Flurry now and love it...is Air superiority better?
    About my lvl 14 movement power...i haven't yet decided which one i want yet. SS gives me flurry, Fly gives me Hover and air super., and jump gives me CJ, not sure about that one though...

    One thing I dont agree with Havok on...is the under slotting of Temp. Invulnerability...I love that power...and IMO, it should be 6 slotted...
