Good work by everyone so far! I gotta get back and work with Mr. Grey.. been too busy as of late!
-
Professor IQ glared hard at the coming onslaught and sighed. He then straightened up his shoulder, fixed his top hat and reached forth his hand and aimed at the Sapper and said in a deep and ominous voice, "All your powers are no match to the Force for it has great effect against the weak-minded!" He then smiled and cast a devastating Domination against the Malta sapper causing the man to convulse into terrible, nightmarish pain....

The Sarge's face was quite serious in expression. He got closer to the men and said, "Listen, recently some very powerful people have looked into why Arachnos has made so many infiltrations into Paragon City; especially in Faultline! We have insiders, double dealers if you will, giving them info and logistics." He came in closer and continued, "Until recently we had no idea where the main gate of this activity was coming from, that is, until some hero operatives found the main lair of these double agents. They lost their lives in finding the place, but we have enough information to work with. This mission then is to take out this lair of activity with military precision, and you guys were high on the list to be asked to help me do the job. Are you interested?"
The Sarge rubbed his chin and sat back awaiting their answer. -
Professor IQ tipped his tophat to Ceus and said, "A pleasure to meet you. Professor IQ is my name, and getting us all out of here alive is the game." He smiled and continued, "So now we get to traverse the sewers. Ahh, the aroma is most inticing. Hooligan's restaurant must be serving their chicken fried steak again." He chuckled again but kept a wary eye out for any pursuers.
-
((OOC: maybe we need a quick post to update where everyone is and what everyone is doing just so no one gets confused.
As For IQ he is heading the way that Techblaze indicated so what is everyone else's status??)) -

He called out, hoping that someone would hear. "Guys! I think I found our exit!"
[/ QUOTE ]
Professor IQ yelled out, "Let's go gang! Time waits for no one! Get out together! Leave no one behind! Watch each other's back!" He stood there trying to direct his new found allies as everything was going to hell in a handbasket around him. He slowly made his way to where Techtro had indicated he wanted the "Tanks" to continue holding the fort until all the less tough heroes could get out. Finally, knowing his own limitations, gave the "Tanks" a boost of density increase and speed boost and then got out with the rest of the heroes... -

"Professor, could you do us a favor and perform a mind-scan or whatnot on the surrounding area? We can confirm if the place is cleared or not and then move on or engage." He suggested.
[/ QUOTE ]
Professor IQ smiled again and replied, "Already ahead of you sir. And I would also suggest we move as a unit as already said, but no matter what, we must get to a better tactical position."
Using his mind he scanned the building as far as his concentration would allow, but it was his gut that bothered him, he sensed something far worse and said to everyone in a pretty good Yoda voice, "Disturbance in the Force I sense, pinpoint it I cannot. Trouble we are in my friends. Wisdom we need. Protect each other we should." He chuckled a bit to break the tension and continued in his normal voice, "I am not getting alot here. What in the name of King Solomon's Temple is going on here?" -

"Professor!" Techblaze bounded over and joined the red costumed hero, bashing a couple robots to draw their attention towards himself. "We seem to have company coming. Do you think you could put out the welcome mat for them?" he asked, indicating the trap nearest the gap in the floor.
[/ QUOTE ]
Professor IQ looked over to Techblaze for a moment and pulled down his reflective shades to the end of his nose. Techblaze saw an odd gleam in his eyes; one of those gleams that one might see in a Tanker's eyes in midst of a large mob of enemies.
The Professor stretched forth his hand and called upon the mystical energies that gave him these incredible abilities in the first place and said in a forceful voice towards the enemies coming in: "Then the man in the full of his summer is suddenly struck down like a scythe upon the wheat. He giveth up his ghost, and where is he? He is as the clay which reminds us all that sooner or later to it we all shall return..."
and let forth a tremendous wave of psychic energy renedering many of the wave of soldiers helpless; lost in the nightmares of their own minds and unable to defend themselves. He watched as many of them staggered right towards the trap door and then using his telekinesis he pushed his hand away from him with a powerful motion and the trap door flew open downward. "I love doing that!" He murmured. He then pushed his shades back up his nose and said to Techblaze, "Lets get everyone we can out of here before this all gets worse"... -
Professor IQ leaped to his feet again; seeing the immediate danger around and his new found companions he acted quickly. His quick intellect took over as he made himself shimmer into the shadows of the place. Like a Jedi Knight he began to catch the spiders and throw them against walls, ceilings and each other with his powerful TK.
Quickly sizing up the battle his mind calculated tactics and strategy. He focused some of his power on taking the power from the Arachnos spiders and transfusing it into a healing wave. He focused the wave on any of his fellow allies needing help, he then looked to find any fallen or down comrades to which he immediately "recalled" them near his spot at the back of the room. Lastly, he returned his focus to the big guys up front; he focused him mind once more and gave all the "tankers" a boost. He increased their bodies' densitites as well and gave them a boost of speed so they could react and attack quicker.
The Professor continued to think quickly and act as quickly; so much so, that he was hit by two attacking spiders because he so focused on his teammates. The Spiders quickly felt his wrath as he levitated them and threw them hard against the hard corners of several walls nearby.
He may not be a "tanker" but Professor IQ did not fear combat nor wading into the heat of the battle, and tonight was no different. He would keep his teammates standing and healthy until the bitter end if need be.
He levitiated another attacking spider and smashed it hard to the ground saying under his breath his signature battle cry: "So Mote It Be!".... -
((OOC in case you are wondering what Prof. IQ looks like-
he can also be seen with the rest of my heroes at my CoH site which is still a work in progress but getting there)Professor IQ
-
Professor IQ had quickly gotten up from the table at the sound of the ruckus. He levitated a trash can near the door prepared to throw it at the disturbance, but let it down when the new Meta emerged.
The Professor then introduced himself to the newcomers and also introduced his new companion currently making another great move on the chessboard. He calmly said, "Ok guys, so let us share what we know. Knowledge is power and we need all the knowledge we can get. What new evil could possible add itself to the already crowded mixes of badguys around here?" -
To the rest of his brood one day, "Whadda ya mean we are out of toliet paper????!!!???"
-
The man in the fatigues saluted to the men and replied, "The name is Master Seargeant D. Blum, and I come on a mission from our own government that your well known skills may be required. Interested?" The look on the Sarge's face was serious and disciplined; in fact, his very body language spoke volumes to the message he was giving.
He waited patiently for their answer. -
Msgt. Blum waited patiently for the receptionist to contact someone of the Grivers, the coming mission was far to important for just one man. The Sarge adjusted his double bandoliers that he so cherished. He polished up the right bandolier which had beautiful .50 caliber specialized bullets made just to damage metahumans. The other bandolier held grandes and specialized ammunition for the massive rifle holstered on his back.
The Sarge looked like a well weathered veteran of conflict. What missions must he have seen? What tribulations and trials must he have faced? What mission could there possibly be out there that he would ask the help of the Grivers? -
(OOC: Welcome to the game Timothy. Hope you enjoy these Forums)
A man dressed in full battle fatigues, helmet, backpack, and all the other standard paraphenalia of a soldier. He walked up to the receptionist of the place, removed his helmet out of respect and said, "Excuse me ma'am. My name is Master Seargent D. Blum and I am looking for the Griver clan. Can you help me?"

"Are you experienced?" He askes, taking a gentle sit, so as to not break what was lef tof the metal chair.

Professor IQ smiled and replied, "My last official rating was 1350, not bad for someone who only gets to play sparingly." He held out his hand, "Professor IQ is my name, I am going to guess that you too have gotten a certain tip concerning another threat to Paragon City.." He moved the King's pawn up two squares inviting the newcomer to join in the game while they talked and other heroes began to come into the room. "...a new series of events set into motion and more worries for us the so called 'heroes' of this city? What additional problems do we need now?" The professor eyed the hero sitting across from him. Fully assessing and sizing up his potential teammate when another technology based hero entered the room... -
It is so true that it would seem that nothing is new, but think about this. Humankind has been around a long time and humnakind's history is filled with writers of every quality. Themes are probably not new but ideas themselves can be quite new and refreshing... it doesn't matter if the story basically has elements of other stories that have been done before- what matters is HOW GOOD CAN YOU WRITE YOUR VERSION of the story.. if someone could out write Shakespeare, then guess what, they'd get all the accolades they'd deserve even if their story was nothing more than a reinterpretation of "Romeo and Juliet"... so dont worry about new ideas, old ideas or what have you. Write your story and have fun doing it.. that IS what truly matters most.

Professor IQ sat at table in the old base. He was idly playing with an old chess set that had been left there; trying different openings and strategies he had in his head, after all, he wanted to keep his chess game up despite the fact he hadn't found anyone to play him in over a month. The quiet emptiness of the base at that moment was just perfect. He could gather his thoughts about the tip he had received a few hours earlier about some new villian planning to terrorize the good people of Paragon City.
Been there. Done that. He chuckled to himself as he thought about all the villians he had so far gone against. He thought about the various heroes who had helped him and that he had helped finish their missions and their goals. He thought about his own stablemates of the Myths and Legends Coalition, and he thought about the days to come and how much longer could it possibly be before the forces of Rogue Islands would try and come to take over Paragon City. He brushed the latter thought from his mind and went back to trying out new ways to defend against the "Kings Gambit" for black and soon wondered if any other heroes were going to come to this place and discuss the new threat... -
Reintroducing Professor IQ: Pyschic Attack, Kinetics "Troller. All around good guy, smart, quirky, a bit geeky, out to assist those who need help.

Introducing for your reading pleasure the biography of one of the heroes for this thread: Masonic Templar-
Masonic Templar was brought about by secret Masonic Ritual during the American War for Independence. The Ritual (an ancient ritual from the days of King Solomon) would bring to life a living being who embodied everything that is, was and will be about the Knights Templar and Freemasonry. So Templar basically is this living suit of armor
Masonic Templar
Masonic Templar2
Templar knows of every battle tactic, every piece of wisdom, every thought, everything about every Knight Templar and Freemason that ever lived or is living still. His power is uncalculable in theory (but in game he is security level 12) and "he" remains a powerful presense in Paragon City trying to assist anyone in need.
Templar is 7'7" 777lbs (all armor. There is only a spirit essense inside the armor that only those who are Magic or are a true Freemason (or Eastern Star) can see)
Templar is a Broadsword/Invulnerable Scrapper. His age is unknown (the Ritual though was done in September of 1776)
Real name?- none.. Masonic Templar or just "Templar" as he would call himself
Powers (official in game powers)- Hack, Slice, Parry, Resist Physical Damage, Temp. Invulnerability, Dull Pain, Resist Elements, Super Jump, Jump Kick, Ghost Slaying Axe, Blackwand Staff
He got his powers via the secret Ritual which brought together the essence and energy from every Knights Templar and Freemason that ever lived or is living still. He uses his power as the Tenets of Freemasonry dictate which is: Always help those in need, more especially a fellow Brother (or Sister) and always seek the Truth.
Lethal Force is unfortunately necessary. Every battle fought by his ancient Templar brethren only reminds him of that sad truth. Templar however also keeps himself circumscribed within the due boundaries of honor, respect, fairness, forgiveness and mercy and will exhibit such even in the most heated of battles. He will not hesitate to kill a villain if they try and do harm to others, to the innocent or for reasons only the battle can produce, but he will not kill for no reason or for vengence, etc. Templar is honorable in every aspect of "his" life.
Currently, Templar has been running around Faultline trying to stop the Arachnos infiltration at every turn. His greatest achievement may have been to save a band of newbie heroes from certain doom in the Hollows, he lead them to safety although had to be sent to the hospital in their saving. They were all eternally greatful to "him" for doing so.
Templar is an extremely thoughtful, introspective and wise being who can not only instantly sum up the prospects of a battle but can in the next moment be more compassionate than almost any "saintly" person of noted history.
Think of Templar similar to any "paladin" within any culture (or typical DnD game)
He is not however a "goody goody two shoes" though.. he is more complicated than any typical stererotype.. after all, he has the thoughts, wisdom and philosophies of an innumerable amount of Masons and Templar... He is ready to dispense justice with honor! -
There would be no reason why there wouldn't be comics in Paragon City read by superheroes and citizens alike... perhaps even comic books about the very hero READING it! I would speculate that even regular comics (like DC, Marvel, etc) would be available in the stores.. I mean, why not? If Co* was a real place, these assumptions would probably hold true as they do in our own world.
As to your earlier question: I assume heroes are part judge, jury and executioner simply due to the unique nature of Paragon City. Even though you could argue some of the things are heroes are allowed to do would normally violate Constitutional law, you could roleplay the situation out that would conform your character actions to fit within Constitutial statutes (like saying the Miranda rights when you take down a baddie for instance).. even if you do that, you might roleplay it out that the Constitution is modified for Paragon City only and let that be that... -
I would like to revisit my two heroes who were in seperate RP threads that both failed: Masonic Templar or Professor IQ. I would like to continue the adventures of either characters. If either of them fit your ideas, let me know.
